Other than booking two rooms, one room being a room with a King size bed the other having two Queen size beds you are out of luck at the Wilderness Lodge. Even the King size bed is only a request so you may still not get what you wanted. :confused3

BUT what you want is available over at the Villas of Wilderness Lodge, it's called a One-bed room Villa.
rswildrmlay2thnimg.gif
One-Bedroom Vacation Homes
Linens, towels, washer and dryer, Master Suite with King size bed,a whirlpool tub, a full kitchen with major appliances, dishware, dishwashing supplies, and a start-up supply of bath soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, and coffee. The Living room area has a queen size pull-out sofa.

Thanks Magic! OK. I think the little panic attack has passed :) Too much caffeine? I knew when I booked this room that it is what it is. And I was excited about it. I did not do this far enough in advance to get a 1br or even a deluxe unfortunately. I will remember them for next time. Now, back to being excited about WL :cheer2: Still trying to decide if the bunk beds might help with the sleeping plan or make them worse.

Hi, we are back from the Wilderness Lodge. It was absolutely wonderful! We stayed in room 2153 which is down the south corridor, facing the inner-courtyard (seven balconies from the end). We were able to get all our requests and my dd loved her bunkbed. We had a great mousekeeper named Sally. She gave us towel animals everyday and arranged my dd's baby and stuffed animals in cute ways. I had also requested a special cleaning since I have severe sensitivities and allergies and the room was perfect. I didn't have any trouble at all. I can't wait until we can go back to WDW and I definitely want to stay at the WL again.

We are booked in a standard view room Oct 27-Nov4. Do the rooms that are over the lobby have balconies, or do they open up over the lobby like a Holiday Inn Holidome room? Do any of these rooms have king beds?

Thanks,
Mary

From page 1 post #1

STANDARD ROOMS:
All Non-Smoking rooms with 2 Queen Beds.
Located on Floors 4,5 & 6. On the North(MK) side, they face the service area. There are also 4th floor rooms that overlook the lobby and look out to roof peaks. Lobby rooms do have balconies.

My DH and I both have allergies (me especially to dust and dust mites)... what does this special cleaning cover? And do you just have to put a request on your reservation to have it done?

Thanks,

Hello all,

Well, we just got home yesterday from our first stay at the WL....

We had a WONDERFUL time. The lodge was beautiful, we had great service, pretty low crowds (for most of the week), and an overall awesome trip!

In fact, it was so great that we booked our next WL trip by 9:20 this morning!! :rotfl: Yay! A year of vacation planning for me! :cheer2:

So anyway, I called this morning to book 9 nights in Nov/Dec '07 and was very surprised to hear that there are no woods view rooms available, and only courtyard bunkbed rooms available. Any ideas why they are so booked already? Would Disney be holding blocks of rooms for any reason?? The CM suggested we book the courtyard room then just try to call back periodically to change the ressie to the room we want (so I did of course! :thumbsup2 )

Our dates are 11/30-12/9 - a time that I thought would be "slow". What do you all think? Will this be a slower time? Do you think more rooms will open up as we get closer? If we didn't go at that time of year, do you think that mid-late January would be our next best option of a slow time of year?

Last question - when do discount codes/offers usually start showing up....6 months out? Sooner?

Sorry for all of the questions and rambling. I am exhausted, yet excited about the idea of another WL adventure.

You are absolutely correct, it's great for looking up areas and general lay-out of the Lodge but it isn't 100% accurate, but it's real close. The 7th floor only has 4 rooms that have direct access to the Lobby (4 Honeymoon Suites) there are no other rooms in this area as the Old Faithful Club and the seating for concierge is located here. The rooms only extend down the first section of the wings so if looking at the MAP the last rooms on this floor are 7042 & 7043 on the North side of the building, 7120 & 7121 on the South wing with the Presidential Suite and Vice-Presidential Suites located on the corners of each wing. The 7th floor ends at the secondary wing elevators.

Thanks SO much for all the helpful information. Once again, I just can't remember clearly. When I look at the map I mentioned above, do rooms 7042 - 7066 look out over parking where trucks pull up to the restaurants? Or do some of those rooms look over the duck pond and such? I just can't remember.

Of course, those rooms would be so high that you probably wouldn't look down much...instead you may be able to catch a glimpse of the Contemporary or the Castle.

Thanks again for your help.

OK - I have got to have earned Vet status by now... this will be our 6 trip there since '01. Alright I haven't answered many questions in a while... but it's so hard to come here when I don't have a trip planned!

I can't believe this weekend I went ahead and booked a room only at WL - all they had for my dates 11/2 - 11/8 was CL - so I guess that's what we HAD to take ... :rolleyes1 - so much for my desire to not spend so much money since I'm on an UNpaid medical leave... but I decided to go for it

We actually want to stay one more day - I will have to keep calling and checking to see if something opens up.

NOW I can read this thread without feeling too homesick!

Thanks so much for the info on the room and requests.

For some reason, I thought your trips had already happened, but you all will be going to the World in a little less that 2 weeks, right? I hope you have a good time anyway, even if I confused myself :rolleyes2.

I can't wait to see and "meet" you all in December.

We will be in the Honeymoon Suite on the night of the 15th, the last night of our stay. And Jeanne, it WOULD be awesome if we got upgraded for our stay, but I really want a CYV (wish I could have both :teeth: )

Do either of you know how big the Suite is?

Thanks so much!!

Once again you're correct on the 7th floor, rooms 7042 7066 are overlooking the driveway and smoke house. None are located overlooking the Otter Pond as the pond is located just beyond the last elevator outside the rooms on the North sides furthest wing.

The view from these rooms are called woods view while in fact they are located just over the standard view rooms :confused3 When you book Concierge you don't book Room Views just concierge. You may request courtyard but as you're are so high all the views are fairly spectacular.

From the 7th floor with the enclosed balconies you would have to standup and hang over the railing to look straight down to see the service area. We love the North View so each visit to concierge I have requested North side. In June 2006 DizneyKid's DH took photo's from our room # 7056 he did use a zoom so don't let it fool ya. But we had a great view of the castle and Wishes.

You were correct Jeanne and I did have a visit in August we went down to meet Laura and DGH. This is our Annual Foor & Wine visit. Then next is our Annual December visit and we get to finally meet you and DH.

While I'm not sure of the sq.ft. of the Honeymoon Suites, when we were there 3 years ago Fred was able to take some photo's (pre-refurbishment) just clik on the link below then find the Honeymoon Suites:

Can some one pick me up on their way and take me with them? I don't take up to much room!!!! :teeth:

Tracy

While it would be a little out of the way, I would if I could. I did add you to our list...think of it as you will be #1 on the list for next year.

Beckie

OK, Well, if I can't come along, I settle for being first on the list! Thanks! Are you sure though? It's only like a 35 hour round trip if you drive straight thru! :moped:

We'll be there Dec. 6-11 2007. Our third Dec. trip to the WL. There's no better place to get the Christmas spirit!! :santa:
