Yes you will Amy!!! We didn't get to last year, but this year with the 8 night stay we lucked out on the final day. I think the longer you stay the better your chances, also we told them ANY day of the 8 days because we were flexible I think that helped too. Good luck!

Quick question:

Room 6129: What kind of bedding did this room have? 2 Queens or King?

Thanks and have a great day!

It is a King Room. DW and I always request a King and get 2 Queens, so we gave up requesting it...and this time we got it :confused3

You have a great day too!

BTW...timandlesley....really enjoyed your flag family pics!!!

Our only disappointment with the lodge was Roaring Forks. Did they expand it? I don't want to think what it would have been like before?! They only offered one children's meal--chicken nuggets. We were trying to be honest with our Dining Plan, but by the end of our stay we were letting our kids order adult meals there with the child credits. How can you expect children to only eat chicken nuggets when they see grown ups getting pizzas and burgers?! We stopped at several other resort counter service places (Contemporary, AKL, Poly and GF) and they all had more choices for children than Roaring Forks. But we were pleasantly surprised by the adult meals. The beef and blue sandwich and chicken/pecan/apple salad were to die for!

I wish they would offer more, you definately can't expect a child to eat chicken nuggets at every meal. I don't blame you for ordering adult meals for your kids. Do you know if breakfast was adequate? I know we will probably pick up breakfast there a couple mornings, just wondering how the offerings are? THANKS.

Hello!

I would like to sign up for the "Wonders of the Lodge" tour! Is there any way to do this ahead of time to guarantee a spot?

Thank you! :thumbsup2

Wazzo- My understanding is (not 100% sure of this) that you don't need to sign up...just show up in the lobby at 9:00 on Wednesday (at least that's been the day the 2 times we've been there...still haven't done it yet).

Hello to all from the WL.
We have a great room (sorry not picture know how or digital camera).
We are in 3013 - North side, view of the pool, the geyzer (behind he trees), and Bay Lake.
We have a refurbished room - Queen bed with bunk beds, flat screen TV, refrigerator, ample draw space - but we brought extra hangers and hung our shirts. Who ever has our room next wil have about 20 plastic hangers in the closet - unless they are throen out.

The rug is a nice leaf pattern in green with a tough of gold. There is nice woodland sceens on the mirror, headboard and picture on the wall.

The double sink in the bathroom is great. We only get 4 sets of towels- so we pick up 2 pool towels as extra's for the room.

The pool - best time is 1st thing in the AM. The pool is dirty by afternoon.

Our Mousekeeping has been wonderful. We have had towel creations 3 time so far.

The weather was a bit rainy on 6/4-6/26 - but has been great the rest of the week. The bus service is good - no more than a 15 minute wait.
The boats are wonderful. I love the smaller wooden boat to ride to the Contemporary. We had NO problem with transportation.

The front desk concierge service has been great. They even were able to reprint our HDD tickets which we some how lost (and then found the day after our HDD show :rotfl: ).

You can cash up to $200 a day in traveler checks.

Buy milk in the gift shop. It's $1.99 for a 16 oz plasric reclosable container. The milk in roaring forks is in a 8 oz paper box container for $2 I think.
Nice selection of Disney items in the gift shop too :)

I can try to answer questions you may have - just give me till July 5th to get home and get my act together (plus Disney withdrawl).

Have a magical day ! :wizard:

Sorry, I can't answer to the breakfasts there. Since we were in a villa, I had groceries delivered so we could eat breakfast in our room and save some time to get to the parks by opening. I do remember they had individual bowls of cereal available (my kids wanted the Froot Loops for supper!) and I think I remember reading something on the sign outside the entrance about yogurt and granola being served until 11:00 a.m.? Hopefully someone else will have had breakfast there and be able to tell you about it.

I think this got buried hope someone can answer. :)

Hope you all can answer another question, I just received my confirmation in the mail today and I noticed on the special request it listed bunk beds, non-smoking, req fridge, and guest with disabilities. With the last one (guest with disabilities) I never specificially told them I had a disability but I did explain my situation and asked to be placed close to the transportation. I noticed it says this nowhere on the confirmation. I also asked for a quiet area and this is also not stated. I'm just curious if they have this info somewhere else or do I need to call them back? Actually I plan on calling them back anyway to be more specific about the area of the resort I'd like to be in but I wanted to know if the other info is there.
Also with the request they have for disabilities will they give us handicap accessible room? I don't have a wheelchair so I really don't need that feature and I'm sure someone else could use it more. Thanks

one more thing, do they use room deodorizers or fragrances? Thanks

The only thing they list on confirmations as a rule is non-smoking as far as I know. But if you requested other items they are noted on your reservation in their computer system. Please note they do not Guarentee request. I try very hard to . Of course if you are requesting a Handicap room that I believe they will Guarentee. I did this a cuple years back as I had jut had knee surgury and could not get in and out of a tub or walk up and down stairs.

We are coming to the WL in December, and I was considering bringing my Laptop with me to download pix and check e-mail and such. My question is this; Is the safe large enough to put my laptop in, if not where can I put it so that I can rest assured that it will not be stolen or lost? Is it safe in my room? Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

If they were giving you a wheelchair accessible room, it would list Wheelchair Accessible room and either "confirmed" or "Guaranteed" (they do guarantee wheelchair accessible rooms.)

If the reason that you made certain requests (like the quiet area) was a disability, they will note something to that effect on the confirmation sheet. It will say "Guest with Disability", "Medical Request" or something similar.
That tells the room assigner either that there is already something blocked for you or that your requests have high priority.
They probably have all your requests listed in the computer, but they have a limited number of characters that can be rpinted out on the confirmation letter.

I don't believe the room safes are big enough for a laptop unless you have a small model. I still would not feel safe in putting in them. You can have it put in a lock box at the front desk. Just get it when you return to your room and then put it back in the morning. Another idea is to download your pictures to a CD at one of the places and I do belive there is a place right in the hotel. Another is to get another memory card they are very reasonable right now. I have 3 and are interchangeable between my video and digical cam. This works great for me and more then enough memory. Only thing I need to remember is to take extra video tape with me LOL.

timandlesley, I just love your photos! It's so nice to see what actually happens during the Flag Family ceremony. What a magical memory for you and your beautiful family! :wizard:
Could you tell me what time the ceremony starts? Thank you very much!

Glad you enjoyed them. We had to be at the front desk at 8:15 and we were on the roof by 8:25. Thanks.

I think we will take it with us and leave it at the desk each night. DH will need to check his e-mail while we are gone. As will I, and of course we will want to keep up with the DIS Boards.

We had two laptops in our room in plain sight on the desk. We didn't experience any theft or ever feel they weren't safe. My sister had hers out too (we had adjoining rooms). We were just there the 17th - 22nd.

I'm the same, tho' I haven't taken my laptop I have taken plenty of expensive electrical equipment and other sentimental things dear to my heart and never had the misfortune of theft. Obviously we are careful with locking doors and the french windows, but I felt they were safe. I did use the safe for money and my own Sterling currency.

Definitely used the safe for our cash. Good point.
