I don't ever remember seeing the gallon size water or foam coolers at the Mercantile maybe someone else will have more information. I'm sure they would have both items over at the Meadows or Settlement Trading Posts at Ft. Wilderness Campground.

There are gallon jugs of water in the Mercantile. Seems as though they were roughly $2.50 which I didn't think was too bad at all.

when i was there at wl in sept 2004
i got one of the WL log cains made outta lincoln logs
we are moving this week and i hope it survives the move
anyone know if they still have them
i might need to get another

Anyone? :)

As to those asking about water, if you aren't flying in, I'd bring some bottled water with you. We brought a half case of bottled water and a half case of mini bottles of Gatorade with us last year and it was great. Much cheaper than buying them at the park. Even staying on the CL this year I still plan to bring them.

I just want to add..I have noticed that the airlines are REALLY getting strict on the weight limits for the luggage. 50lbs..not a pound over (I think some airlines vary on weight limit...so check with your airline). I literally saw more than one family on both Jet Blue and Southwest "rearranging" suitcases last December to get under the weight limit. I know some people do pack water, water can be heavy..it might be cheaper to buy it when you get to Disney..most shuttle car companies offer a grocery store stop. It sure beats paying the "overweight" luggage fee.

The first map is an overview of the Lodge...the second map has room #'s and the locations of the elevators., The elevators are located in the Lobby and halfway down each wing not at the end of the wings. They are indicated by the X on the room lay-out. Remember the layout is also a general overview, each floor is different hope it will help you.

Where can I find a Map of Wilderness Lodge?

Wilderness Lodge area Map

Wilderness Lodge Room #'s and Locations

Thanks for the map info. :)

Hope you all can answer another question, I just received my confirmation in the mail today and I noticed on the special request it listed bunk beds, non-smoking, req fridge, and guest with disabilities. With the last one (guest with disabilities) I never specificially told them I had a disability but I did explain my situation and asked to be placed close to the transportation. I noticed it says this nowhere on the confirmation. I'm just curious if they have this info somewhere else or do I need to call them back? Actually I plan on calling them back anyway to be more specific about the area of the resort I'd like to be in.
Also with the request they have for disabilities will they give us handicap accessible room? I don't have a wheelchair so I really don't need that feature and I'm sure someone else could use it more. Thanks

Edited to add one more thing, do they use room deodorizers or fragrances? Thanks

Quoting oneself...HMMM :confused3

With a new dog arriving today and a new grandchild 1-2 weeks away, this won't be an easy time to do a full trip report...BUT I'd be thrilled to answer specific questions about how WL is doing and how our trip went. The short time we spent at WL was nothing short of sensational!

Here's my "picture of the day" (I have lots more...will try to post 1 a day in this thread until I can get them all resized and organized for the resort pic thread):

Thanks so much Ronald Duck!!! I am looking forward to more!! :goodvibes

Great pictures Ronald.

Just want to say CONGRATULATIONS on your new dog :dogdance: What kind of dog are you getting?

Also, special CONGRATULATIONS on your soon to be new grandchild!!!!

Quick question:

Room 6129: What kind of bedding did this room have? 2 Queens or King?

Thanks and have a great day!

Good luck with Flag Family! We've stayed at WL 3 times so far and Flag Family is always booked! :sad1: What you do: you can't request to be Flag Family until you check in. Either the person who checks you in or at the conceirge desk - they keep a list of the flag families. If there's an open date, you're in! They'll also put you on the waiting list in case somebody cancels (they'll write down the dates you'll be staying), but nobody ever canceled while we were there. The longer your stay, the better your chances. All I know is they take you up to the roof to help raise the flags and the view is awesome! There are some pix on the DIS somewhere.....

We just returned from a MAGICAL trip at WL (see my signature for the link to my trip report with tons of pics) and we were fortunate to be Flag Family on Fathers Day. Here are some of the pics (what a MAGICAL time):

timandlesley - AWESOME pics!! I guess we'll just have to keep going back to the WL until we get to be flag family! :goodvibes (as if we need an excuse to return to WL!)

Well, we just returned from a wonderful trip to WL. We absolutely loved the place (we stayed at the Villas) and would love to stay there again.

We got to be the Flag Family on Friday, June 23. It was an awesome experience with Ranger Stan--one of the highlights of the stay.

To someone who asked earlier about the Lincoln Logs, yes they're still available at the Mercantile. We seriously considered a purchase, but there just wasn't room in our luggage for the large package (and yes, I know about mailing packages home, but we didn't want them that badly. It's an excuse to go back again someday anyway!)

Our only disappointment with the lodge was Roaring Forks. Did they expand it? I don't want to think what it would have been like before?! They only offered one children's meal--chicken nuggets. We were trying to be honest with our Dining Plan, but by the end of our stay we were letting our kids order adult meals there with the child credits. How can you expect children to only eat chicken nuggets when they see grown ups getting pizzas and burgers?! We stopped at several other resort counter service places (Contemporary, AKL, Poly and GF) and they all had more choices for children than Roaring Forks. But we were pleasantly surprised by the adult meals. The beef and blue sandwich and chicken/pecan/apple salad were to die for!

Hello!

I would like to sign up for the "Wonders of the Lodge" tour! Is there any way to do this ahead of time to guarantee a spot?

Thank you! :thumbsup2
