I apologize to everyone who is "sick" of hearing about this:

Hi everyone, The muffins sound great for breakfast...Thanks!!!

llebrekniT, I got your e-mail and replied...I got into it with Doc about the "Filters" on a thread about how you can and cannot represent "Bad Words" here is the link...It is interesting to say the least.
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=417579
He tries very hard, and I actually think he did not see your posts before you edited them. Because of his position, I think he has to be very rules oriented....

I read through the link you posted. Interesting to say the least, I saw no reference to what smilies are objectionable, is there a guideline for that? I believe that maybe if it were a real live human butt it might have been objectionable. Still even human butts are considered PG by most censors.

Ok, now then may I present the following from the GUIDELINES FOR POSTING:

"We do not believe in censorship, and open discussions about various issues is encouraged. We ask that everyone conduct himself or herself with respect when speaking to other people. It is okay to disagree, as long as the discussion remains respectful of the feelings of others. Once a discussion begins to step over that line, the post in question will be deleted. In extreme cases, individuals who are not able to conduct themselves as responsible group members will be asked not to return."

If they could pretty please edit the guidelines so that the part I put in bold would say -.....the feelings of others, except llebrekniT...

Ok, enough of that for now. Have a great day everyone!

CourtasanSatine, beep beep on your Kimmunicator!

I think you should be given the honor of starting our next home; Please feel to decline the honor, but we have to move in about 10-20 pages.....Does anyone else out there wish the honor? I think CourtasanSatine
will do a great job, and she has a lot of posts in this thread. I hope she will accept, and I hope I am not overstepping my authority, but I have been subtley hinting for a few days now...The diggs are starting to get full....and no one else seemed to jump up and say "I'll do it".

All Hail the TAG FAIRY

llebrekniT, I am sorry, that link wasn't in reference to the smilies..I was just trying to show you that Doc has to hold the company line fairly strictly. I re-iterate...I don't think he read your original post, and has to go by what he sees. I would PM hime back, thanking him for removing the thread and telling him nicely that since you didn't receive a respnse in 3 days, you felt ignored and removed the posts yourself. I would also point out that the mod over there (I forget which one) was active in the thread and probably saw the original report. She even got into the action (I think she did try to remain neutral). I would also point to the general hatred exhibited in the "Other Thread" and point out that the response you gave (while not being very "Dis-Like") was called for. He is quite reasonable, but again, he has to go by what he sees. The Dis is a big fan site, and there is always the risk of a lawsuit. So they have to enforce the rules of conduct.

OK, enough of the soap box..which reminds me, I saw a chocolate Paw print by the big screen TV last night...Nieceosaurus did you wash your paws with soap....I don't think anybody else would have turned on Meredith last night...?!? ;)

And Danauk, Please forgive me, but I have always wanted to say this; Why don't you have Tea for Tea?
;) :) ;)

ohanafamily
I usually do have a cup of tea at tea time!! I've never understood why some people call lunch dinner and then dinner tea. I usually say tea when I am eating at home in the evening or dinner when I am going out to eat. 12:00 is definately lunch time though!
I had great fun a few years ago when I went to stay in Arizona with a friend of mine. We never realised there were so many words that we each used that we didn't know what they meant or that there were so many things we gave a different name to!

LOL!!!
Tag fairy's working at 7-11....THat is too funny!! Poor thing...if I just had their address, I would mail some Godiva...guess I need to eat it myself...DARN!!!

HuggaBaloo, I would take her offer for help and be straight with them up front. Most of the Opening Disney jobs are Part time, etc, so it may take a while. If you are up front with the company, they know what to expect.....
ohanafamily, sorry, I was looking a few pages back and realized I never responded. How rude!

Your suggestion is definitely how I would prefer to handle the situation. But, being in HR, my experience has been that most companies would not hire me if I told them from the start that I would only be staying for as long as it takes me to get a job at Disney. The costs associated with recruiting, hiring and training a new employee are just too high.

Of course, it would probably depend on the nature of the position. Unfortunately, I don't think the jobs where they wouldn't care would pay enough. I'm pretty much having to consider only professional level jobs. The ideal would be a temp or contract professional position, but from what I'm seeing those are few and far between.

Even if I don't get a job at Disney by the time we move, I'm still going to look into part-time work there (in addition to a regular job). I'm guessing (hoping) it's a good way to get in the door and that I would then have access to internal job postings. :hyper: ::yes::

That was Judy from Boise that posted replies in that thread mentioned on the DB.

I agree that Doc is quite reasonable.

I know how you feel with the application process. I'm trying to get a career upgrade myself. Each employer has its own stuff. They let you do only one thing: send an e-mail or use snail mail or fill out their enormous online forms or fax them but for God's sake don't call them. Otherwise your resume will be shredded.

I remember the star! Man, that's a good movie! :teeth:

Oh, and I know what you mean about calling on jobs. It's times like these that I suffer from major self-loathing. I've been on the recruiters side of it and I hated the phone calls. Of course, when I'm on the job-hunting side of it, I don't understand what the big deal is! :)

I've been a member since 2000 and hoping soon that the Tag Fairy will make me worthy of her tags LOL
I hope she notices me

LOL! AZKathy that's too funny. I think that would be a great job! I bet it's a lot less stressful than driving the busses seems to be.

Uh-oh...CourtasanSatine's Kimmunicator must be beeping off her belt (or wherever she keeps it). We've slipped to page 2!

S-l-o-w day huh?

Where's BichonBarb when you need her? I bet those boys are home from school,<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_6_19.gif' border=0></a> I think I saw on the news that NY got more snow.

How about a new question to get the conversation going again?

<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_12_1.gif' border=0></a> I know! AZKathy and HuggaBaloo have been talking about her hubby's dream job at WDW. So - how about this for a question -

What would be your ideal/dream job at WDW? BTW, this dream job pays whatever you need it to pay to live comfortably, so it can be selling popcorn if that's what you want to do.

I'll answer now. It's a little <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_17.gif' border=0></a>silly... but I have always said that my dream job would be working in TinkerBell's
1238.gif
shop in Fantasyland. Partly due to location, location, location (outside the castle<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_3_15.gif' border=0></a>, near the carousel) and partly because I have 2 princesses<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_3_3.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_3_3.gif' border=0></a> and I just love shopping in there. I would also love to work in their landscaping department. Not the digging <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_104.gif' border=0></a>and planting so much, I would prefer to be the one who points and tells someone what to plant and dig.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_7_1.gif' border=0></a> (Just kidding, I would never use a whip, LOL) I just love walking around anywhere on WDW property admiring the landscaping. It's one of my favorite things to do on a trip. If only I could come home and implement any of the ideas I get while I'm there.......<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_201.gif' border=0></a>

Gotta run! Have a nice evening everyone!
