Hi guys!

I just found out that my Spring vacation next year will be during Easter! :scared1:

Does the D/S jack up their prices for this week as well? Are the teacher discounts still offered during Easter?

Have any of you been during this time? Just wondering how crowded the Dolphin gets and if you can still enjoy yourself by the pool and relax even though it's so crowded...

Don't know about pricing during Easter but we'll be there the week leading up to Easter so I can post about crowds when we return. I do know that whatever amount of rooms the Dolphin had blocked for dh's conference sold out and they have been overflowed to one of the Disney hotels within walking distance (not bad at the same corporate rate) so I'm thinking this year it will be crowded. I'm just hoping the weather is good, lol.

Is that a "trick question"?! :lmao:

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Walk or float to the Studios and Epcot......:cool1:

GORGEOUS pools and grounds.......:beach:

Fantastic restaurants........... :cake:

HEAVENLY BEDS............:cloud9:

Need I say more??!!:hippie:

:thumbsup2

Hi everyone. I have been reading through the thread and have a question.

We will be staying at the Swan for one night before we move to BLT for two weeks. It is myself, my hubby, and our 4yo son. Is there a special place we should eat or something we should check out around the hotel that we shouldn't miss? I think all the pictures are beautiful and can't wait to see it first hand, even if it is only 1 night.

I've stayed more often at Dolphin and my kids and I love the shooting stars in the first part of the lobby when you walk in the front. Small touch, but cute if you're walking around and happen to be there. Of course, they also thought the pool was great.

Just saw my ticker!!! Although I leave Sunday so I'm not sure why it says 1 day, it should say 2 days - but that is close enough!!!

I'll let y'all know how I like it. Of course, it will be old news to you s/d experts. Thanks for all the info you've given me over the past couple of months - it's been awesome and I'm VERY prepared for my trip. Here's to seeing the mouse real soon :cool1:

Again, never old news. I live for this thread and hearing more great stuff about S/D. Have a great time. We are only 6 days away from the mouse. :woohoo:

Never stayed during that time, but someone recently posted that they got the teacher rate for next Christmas break. I'm guessing if they can get it then, then there's a possibility you'd get it during Easter. I've stayed there during Memorial Day weekend when all of Disney was sold out and never thought of the Grotto as unmanageable, but that was years ago, maybe crowd patterns have changed.

Don't know about the Dolphin pricing at Easter, either, but I will warn you that the park crowds are pretty heavy.. Our friends went last year at Easter - Lines were VERY long - the two teenagers and Dad were ok weaving in and out through the park, but Mom with the stroller was left in the dust many a time. LOL She said she got very overwhelmed by the crowds - and how hard it was to maneuver the stroller. just a heads up - not sure how many you are traveling with...

Have a blast, and remember to look up at the ceiling of the Dolphin when you walk in, and make a wish! (O.K, Thats what WE do, hopefully the ceiling is still the same as the last stay we had there) and while the S/D is great, enjoy your entire trip...WDW is the best!

ok here goes...I have someone who is willing to sell me their points (they own at Vistana) they would charge me 1000.00 for the Dolphin from Jun 20-27 I will be staying till the 29 so I will need 2 more nights someone. Is that a good deal?

I have a question for the group...

Which is better for ice cream/ milkshakes , The Fountain at the Dolphin, or Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club? I've heard so much about Beaches and Cream, and I know we will be very close, but I just discovered the menu at the Fountain, and it looks great!

IMHO, the Fountain has the best ice cream in the World hands down.

Plus it has inexpensive and fun eats if you have kids.

8 nights for $1000 - that's $125/night. I can't imagine you could do better than that. I'm psyched with the teacher rate at $129/night for July and apparently you beat that. Congratulations!!! :cool1:

well it's 7 nights 8 days but no matter what I try to apply I can't get lower so I guess that's it then I have to add in the resort and parking fee but I think it's still a great deal I can't wait!! Now I'm getting excited myself!!!

Ooops but still at $142/night that's a great rate. You aren't going to come close to that rate at any other Disney deluxe. My AP rate at BC was more than $100/night more than that. JMO, but I still think that's an amazing rate and well worth it. I was willing to pay $225/night at Dolphin, but I was worried about the 5th person and trundle bed feeling too cramped on this upcoming trip.

I know even with my ta rate at beach club it's still way more do you know how the dolphin room is set up 2 doubles and what? thanks

Dan will probably put the link here soon, but I'm computer illiterate. If you go to the S/D website at the top of this thread, they will show room layouts.

Dolphin has two double beds and a small chair or King size bed and pull out love seat.

lissiesmum - We are booked for this Easter with the teachers rate at the Dolphin. I think the regular rooms were at $179 - we booked a premium studio suite for $259 with 2 dbl beds. Because Easter's in early April, I don't think as many people are going that weekend and are waiting til later in the month when the school's are out for April vacations. Disney's hotels are now offering their discounted rates including Easter weekend and there is plenty of availability in all Values, Mods and Deluxe levels.

Next year though, who knows. It'll be April Vacation for many schools that week with Easter on April 24. Could be crazy. :yay:

Is the Swan/Dolphin considered a Disney resort? I just read on another thread I started about Easter that the parks close in stages when it gets too busy, and that certain stages you're only allowed into the parks if you're staying on WDW property and have a current resort ID....
