I like to walk to both... but the good thing about DHS is that the boat stops there just after S/D pick-up, and is also the first on the return route.

Hey! It's SideshowBOB!!!!:yay: How's the lemonade stand holding up? :goodvibes:

We have TWO FEET OF SNOW here in NJ... SO looking forward to our FIVE-PEAT trip to the Dolphin in June! Hope to see you then!!! :cool1:

Thanks, but i already tried both of those... there were really no "in depth" shots - just one or two.. i am kinda looking for some great shots that someone who may have stayed in that room may have taken..

Howdy, my friend!

No snow yet... but year another cold spell with wind and rain over next days. Methinks the worst winter that I have seen here over the years. Will be glad when we are back in the 80's ... ha-ha!

80's????? Oh, nothing like RUBBING IT IN!!!
...as we go to dig out of 20 inches of snow..... :rotfl2:

Caitsmama, we'll probably have to post our own pictures after our trips. We're hopefully going Easter weekend, so I'll try to download pictures when we get back. If you're staying at the Dolphin before then, have a great trip! And take lots of pictures! :thumbsup2

Believe it or not, I really enjoyed walking BACK from Epcot! The boats were always so crowded and I could meander either on the Boardwalk side or the BC/YC side, taking my time. It was lovely and relaxing at night after the crush of the crowd during Illuminations.

I agree! unless it is REALLY late or we are REALLY tired... :goodvibes

Yes it is. Glad to see some of the regulars. Hope everyone is enjoying the snow while they plan their WDW trip:woohoo:

:thumbsup2 SSB and the Friendship Launch to and from S/D to DHS. We did the walk once - early morning in middle of summer.... take the launch..IMHO, if you are staying in the heat of the summer.

However, we do the walk many times to and from Epcot and really love it.

We have been lucky on all our S/D stays (all have been in the summer) that the buses only stopped at the S/D not the other Epcot resorts.

Singing Mom, we lucked out here in the Boston area and got heavy rains and high winds which did cause many problems. But, no snow! :woohoo:

I agree that walking to Hollywood Studios in the summer would be a HOT walk. But then, I prefer NOT to go to Florida in the summer! More often than not, I will walk from the Studios to the Swan. I hate the long wait for the boat, and sometimes the line is so long you have to wait for a second boat. I have also walked from Epcot to DHS on a few occasions. I figure I can use the exercise.

So...our plan for our first night is to catch Illuminations, then head over at a leisurely pace to the MK for EMH, which start that night at midnight (!). Anyone have suggestions on the best way to do this? I'm trying to minimize walking for my dad, and am wondering what the best way to get around the crowd surge after Illuminations would be. Have considered taking the boat back to the Swan, then catching a bus to the MK, maybe hanging back and looking in some shops or the Patisserie, if it's open, until the crowds die a bit and taking the monorail, and just braving the crowds and taking the monorail right after...but that could probably get dicey.

Well, we are official! We are booked in the Executive Suite at the Dolphin (there are 8 of us) for November over TG week. :) We got a great rate with the Military discount, and 50% off food!! (not the siggy rest. - just the quick serve/"lower" end rest.)

I am very excited, never stayed here before! If anyone stays at the Executive Suite before Thanksgiving, PLEASE PLEASE post some pics!! :)

You are right, anyway you slice it, you'll have a bit of a walk and a wait with the park emptying and EMH at MK. I'd suggest taking the monorail. Watch Illuminations near the entrance from Future World and walk out toward the monorail. If you aren't in a rush, take it easy. You will probably have a wait at the monorail to the TTC, but if you aren't in a rush, then it shouldn't be bad. You could even by some pastries earlier in the night and enjoy them while you are waiting in line for the monorail.

Glad to hear it passed you by! I'm just SO SICK of the snow - the only way I'm getting through this winter is thinking about how hot we will be in Disney in June! :cool1:

I am looking forward to the day we can go without planning it to coincide with school vacations! :goodvibes

Me, too!

I have gone during April vacation, Memorial Day weekend, and the week leading up to New Year's Day. Crowded is an understatement. We did go one year arriving Saturday before Thanksgiving and leaving the Friday after Thanksgiving. Saturday through Tuesday were great but from Wednesday through Friday, the crowds increased dramatically.

The time we go in late July or late August, the crowds are manageable in comparison.

I'll never be able to do that until I retire in 25 years!:eek::eek:

Hang in there, Zuzu! :teacher:

We go AS SOON as school lets out in June - DD attends Catholic school, and they tend to get out a little earlier than the public schools. :cool1:

The crowds have been different each time we've come, but the closer we get to Fourth of July, you can just FEEL the crowds getting larger! We head back North by July 1st.. :goodvibes
