I zoomed in on Google Maps and did see Fantasia Gardens has its own parking lot. Of course, everything is farther apart that it appears on resort provided maps.

One more Swan/Dolphin question...

Do you have to be a resort guest to rent those neat Swan boats in crescent lake?

Happy Holidays everyone!!! Hope those of you heading down to Disney have a safe and quick trip!

Hi,
Would like to know if the Dolphin will store our luggage after checking out for a few hours or so?

Thank you,
Mark

Does the Swan/Dolphin share a parking lot with Fantasia Gardens?
We golfed there last June, and there's quite a big parking lot there.
In addition to the Golf Course, there is a pretty good sized beach pavillion tent thing for parties, etc., thus the big lot.

Yepp-I did this in 08 with no problem. There's also a roomy bathroom nearby if you need to change.

Hi everyone-

We are heading back to the Swan in July (already dreading the heat and the crowds), so I thought I would hop in here to see what's new at my favorite resorts.

Other than attending the Halloween party last year, we haven't been to WDW in 3 yrs! The kids were not as well behaved on our last 2 trips, so I felt they needed a break, so that they would appreciate being at WDW. I think they''ll appreciate it now. LOL

SwanDolphin-good to see you. It's been quite a while. I understand the original "cheerleaders" are trying to make plans to descend on you for a reunion in July. Can we talk about "purple potatoes"?? :rotfl:

"Hello" to those of you that I've never "met" and "hi, again" to those of you I have.

I look forward to catching up on the news from the "Lemonade stand".

Welcome back, Sue! Hard to believe it will have been 9 years since the first "cheerleader" gathering at the Dolphin in July 2001. I hope you'll have a great time at WDW, and the boys (how old are they now?) will enjoy it more.

Hi Nancy-

Yeah, it's been a long time since that first meet at the Dolphin.....
We were actually talking about a 10 yr reunion, but, Debbie and I are already going to be at WDW at the same time in July (she at the Dolphin; me at the Swan), so we are trying to get a pre-10 yr reunion going. I hope it works out.

The day we arrive at the Swan will be Shawn's 18th birthday; Justin will turn 15 in Feb. We have a new one now--Michael. He's 20 months old. This will be his first trip to the world.

That is also where the four tennis courts for the Swan & Dolphin are located. There used to be eight but cut back when Fantasia Gardens was built to make more space.

Does anyone know if conference rate park tickets can be purchased ahead of time from S/D? I know we purchased conference tickets at The Swan a few years back, through concierge, the day we got there for DH's conference. Just trying to see if they're available & the cost before I order from UT.

Conference tickets? Do you mean park tickets? I'm confused because I'm going there for a conference in March but I'll be buying my park tickets separately. Just curious about this one!

I meant the discount WDW park tickets you can get for being a conference attendee. I did find the info, there is a link to discount conference tickets directly from WDW in DH's company info & conference registration. There are "after 2pm" tickets, "after 4pm" tickets and whole day tickets for the attendee & family. (Not sure on the exact times, might be after 5pm or after 6pm). There's not a huge savings, but they are a few dollars cheaper than even the Mousesavers discount through Undercover Tourist.

Oh yeah, forgot about those. Some great info. around here!

hey guys im new to this, and im tryin to figure out when S and D might post their discount rates for Oct 2010. Im military my wife is a teacher so which would be better?

I booked with the Govt. Rate at the Dolphin for our October trip back in November.

Not sure if Military discount is lesser than the Govt. Rate (or they may be the same).

I don't see a category on spg.com for military - but gov't rate for Nov. is $149/nt - I doubt you'll find it any cheaper than that. You might need to call to check for military discounts. Good luck!

I am 99% positive I am going to go with the Dolphin for a July trip. Unfortunately, I am not a teacher/gov/military so no discount for me. Does anyone know another way to get a discount or do you think there might be some for summer?

Also, since this will be the first time I will be at a resort that does not participate with Magical Express (and won't be renting a car) which is the best way to get from MCO to the Dolphin? Taxi? Limo? Which is the best way?

This thread is so informative. I truly had no idea that the Dolphin and Swan were so affordable. I really thought they would be priced same as the Disney EPCOT resorts.
