Hey, Tara...and other residents of PA and WI...

Did you see this? It states that a 3 night minimum is required, but doesn't say anything about a maximum stay. So I guess, in theory, that could mean 2 free nights during a 6 night stay...not too shabby.

Now if only my Jets can get their act together for next year, LOL!

Celebrate your team's conference football championship at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in the heart of the Walt Disney World® Resort!

Now that the match-up for the big game is set, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel is once again rewarding fans with our “I’m off to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin!” deal for residents of each team’s state. For a limited time, residents of both Wisconsin and Pennsylvania will receive a complimentary third night when booking two nights at our best rates by February 28, 2011 for stays through February 5, 2012. Plus, there's even more for in store for the champion of the big game. Residents of the winning team’s state will get to continue celebrating with an automatic complimentary one catagory room upgrade!*

While staying with us fans will have access to many special Walt Disney World benefits, including complimentary transportation and Extra Magic Hours at the theme parks. Fans can also enjoy a championship-caliber meal at any of our 17 restaurants and lounges including Shula’s Steak House, the restaurant of the NFL’s winningest coach, Don Shula. There’s no better place to celebrate a team’s victory than the place known for championship celebrations!

To book now call (888) 828-8850 and mention promo code PENNSYLN or WISCONSN.
*Residency I.D. required. Please see terms & conditions for complete details.

OH MAN! I just booked 3 nights at The Dolphin on points THIS MORNING for March! I'd much rather save the points (it's only $177/nt for my dates) and do this deal. I'd only pay for 2 nights & get an upgrade. I wonder if I can cancel the other one & get my points back - does anyone know?

Where did you see this deal so I can pull it up on my end & call them???

LOL I read too quickly - Steelers didn't win so no complimentary upgrade!!!!

I have to think this through....stay free on points or pay for 2 nights & get the 3rd free.....hmmm.....I'm leaning towards saving the points & paying for 2 nts.....

I saw in your sig that you had a trip coming up, figured you might make use of the discount. Here's the link: http://deals.starwoodhotels.com/promos/NAD-orlando-swan-dolphin-football

Someone else posted it in the Discount Codes and Rates forum here.

Good luck with the phone call...hope they can work something out for you.

LOL Dan I have to agree!! I'm on live chat on spg.com now - she says points are returned to the account if the stay is cancelled - whew - now trying to price out the promo....hmmm....I have 3 separate ressies at S/D in March (yes, I have a headache from it all & I'm sure they have my account flagged because I have called them so many times!) - I'm wondering if this promo could be applied to any of the other ones....wheels are turning in my head......

I'm currently booked using the Nurses rate(169$), but with the free upgrade it might be worth looking into the deal for Wisconsin. Is it worth it to upgrade the view? We really only use the room to sleep and are only there 4 nights...trying to keep the budget in line...

I just called - the PA/WI promo cannot be used in conjunction with nurse's discount or AAA...the "best rate" is $209 plus taxes & fees right now....so that's the rate they use for the promo rooms. It's roughly $245/nt, then 1 free - plus you get the upgrade since you're in WI. If you're at $169 now it might be worth it for you to switch over just for the upgrade. I've had the dumpster view as well as Epcot Fireworks view - trust me, Epcot Fireworks View is MUCH nicer - especially when it's free! But if you're not saving a bunch, then I'd probably forget it.

I think I might just stay with my free nights on points. It comes to about $164/nt with the 3rd nt free (and no upgrade for me since Steelers lost)...I've gotten better rates than that before at S/D. The AAA rate for my dates outright is $177...so not that big of a savings for me. I'd just be saving my points for future use. And with 3 separate ressies in March (DH has one of his own too for his conference) I think I might rack up some more points shortly!

How many nights are you staying?

We're just staying 4 nights...I just got off the phone and the rate during the time I'm going is $239, so $717 for the 4 nights before taxes/fees..about $50 more than my current rate---might be worth it for the upgraded view...not sure. We've never stayed here before, so what do you think??

Ok here's the question: Is $50 worth it to you to have THIS:

I honestly don't know what I'd do - I think I'd book the upgrade unless it's a totally budget trip!

If it only costs $50 to get the second view than yes it is. :rotfl2:

Quick fridge question. Do they have any freezer area, enough for an ice cube tray, or are they fridge only. If I'm out in the hot sun, i like to freeze my bottled water or create ice cubes out of whatever Im drinking so when they melt they do not delute my drink. Also, do the floors have ice machines.

I am staying at S/D in April of 2012... Maybe all of us Colts fans can wish for an upgrade for hosting next year ? :rotfl:

A picture is worth a thousand words...Just got off the phone and switched my ressie...I'm hoping I get the rate quoted...$189/night 3rd night free and resort view for 4 nights $567 before taxes/fees!!! Now we're talking budget!

Thank-you Packers!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I've gotta agree...I think that view is worth $50. Or look at it this way: it's only $10 extra per day over the course of a 4 night/5 day trip! *As you can see, I'm really good at 'creative justification', LOL*

PS to Mike: no, the fridges do not have freezer areas, but there are ice machines on every floor. I'd stick the ice bucket liner in my park bag every morning and it was pretty convenient to just stop at the ice machine on the way back to the room every night.

Wow, that's great! Congratulations!

Woo Hoo Funfor five!!!! Congrats! Thanks Lexi for the promo info!

I think I'm just keeping my stay free on points. I'm really hoping that they see we have 3 stays in March & maybe they will be able to throw some pixie dust our way for an upgrade...Nancy - you go all the time - do they recognize that with upgrades? We dropped from Gold to Preferred last year so no comp upgrades anymore....but maybe, just maybe if they think of us as frequent flyers LOL!! I'll go expecting nothing & be happy with anything they bestow upon us!

You go, funforfive! As a PA resident I had no free upgrade to speak of, but this discount worked out best for me...I went for the $50-ish upgrade and went for a resort view for this August.

DISers are the best.
