Welcome ElissaJoy & TiffanyA!!!

Elissa that's a good rate for resort view with balcony!

Tiffany I have no idea where in the building the Executive Suites are. I'm staying in one at The Swan next month, maybe from the windows, shape of the room, etc. I can figure out where they are in each building & let you know! You got a great rate too, I've been watching the rate on the 2BR E Suites for awhile & the best I got for March was $540!

Dan, thank you!

Tara, the difference may be that it is the dolphin, which is traditionally lower priced than the swan. However I do admit that is a big discrepancy somewhat. Is that with a discounted rate?

I'm sorry if this has been asked already, I don't recall reading it. Any way to get to the gates of EPCOT so we can use the monorail? Or would you have to enter the park? TIA!

Do all Epcot view/balcony rooms come at the expense of the boat horns blowing all day and night? I would love to have the view, but the purpose of the Heavenly Bed is for sleeping. The horns could be a problem. Any advice?

DH & I stayed in an alcove room in October & never not once heard a horn blow!

I e-mailed my friend who manages at the Swolphin, asking where the executive suites are. His response: "all over the hotel". Oh well. I figured they'd be in a certain section, but I guess not!

cleophus12 - I've never heard the horns from the Friendship Boats when in the room with the balcony doors closed. Also - they only run 1 hour after Epcot & DHS close - so not all night long. Actually I joked one year that I wanted to let the doors open all night so that when they started running in the morning, their beautiful sound would be my alarm to get up! There is a fan on the heating/AC system in the rooms - if you're a light sleeper you could be sure that fan is on all night, maybe that would help with no hearing any outside noises.

Beka - thanks for checking - don't worry I'll take lots of pics while I'm there!

Tiffany A - I believe March is considered a peak season (vs. July) so that may be the price difference. I booked with a AAA discount. The only way to get directly to the front of Epcot to catch the monorail is to take a taxi. There are no buses to the front entrance from any of the Epcot Area Resorts (reports do indicate that in very heavy attendance periods like holidays, they may add a bus or 2 to the existing transportation just because of the volume of crowds). Otherwise you are correct, you need to enter at the International Gateway & walk to the front. OR - crazy as it seems - you could walk to DHS & get the bus to Epcot from there - which drops you off at the front entrance - but that will take time & more walking than if you just walked through Epcot!

Hey Tara, just curious if you remember the room number on that infamous bad view room... just so I can be forewarned at check in ???

I happened to find the room number from that Worst View pic....6048!

Hey guys!
I'm sorry if this has been posted before or if it doesn't belong here, but I had a quick question. My fiance and I are getting married at the swan and will be staying there for 2 nights in September (POFQ for the rest of the honeymoon) I noticed a couple weeks ago on allears that they had a code to use (allears) and you could get a room for $130/night; however, when I went to book it today I don't see that posted on the site anymore. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it not offered anymore? Thanks in advance!!

Yay! Thank you. I just finished writing it on my dolphin ressie confirmation. Hopefully I won't be in that wing. I did follow the link to the Bing map someone posted earlier today and can see exactly which side of the hotel that would be on.

That particular rate may not be offered, but the rate promotion, which is a percentage off the price, is still offered as I was quoted a discounted rate using that code.

happy weekend, everyone :) Our trip is two months away now and we can't be more excited! :woohoo: I was wondering if I should purchase park tickets before we leave from a Disney Store, or can you purchase them at the lobby? We'll need seven day passes with a park hopper.

I have an AP, but I buy my DH's ticket from Undergroundtourist through the mousesavers link. They will save you a few dollars.

Last year, I bought 4 tickets through them. The tickets come quickly. The price you see on their site includes taxes and shipping.

Have fun planning your trip!:thumbsup2

lissiesmum - I second what the above poster stated - I always order our tickets beforehand from Undercover Tourist - they're cheaper than WDW prices & extremely reliable & legitimate. Their prices include all taxes and S&H, the prices on the WDW site do not. If you get the Mousesavers newsletter you can get them even cheaper if you order through the special link.

Have fun!

Thank you both for the great info on Undercover Tourist! We will save $25 a ticket and the extra money will pay for dinner one night! :thumbsup2
Thanks also, TaraPA for all your great tips....I cannot wait to get there!

50 days now until our trip...

I keep thinking we are staying at the Dolphin, but my husband said it is the swan. We wanted rooms with Queen beds.

We are only staying for the first 3 nights (arriving really, really late the first evening), but are looking forward to seeing a new resort and trying some of the great restaurants there.

I just booked a day at Discovery Cove too. That will be another first for the family. The boys are going to enjoy that. We get a day at Sea World with that booking, so I guess our first couple of days in Orlando will be spent with lots of sea creatures! :)

We have not been to Sea World in years. That is why I added the extra 3 days to the vacation. I don't want anything to interfere with our WDW parks once we get to the Contemporary! :yay:

I am a little nervous about the crowds in April - we normally go in Jan/Feb or Sept. We did not sign up for the dining plan either - I bought 8 day passes separately. I thought the restaurants would be too busy that time of the year. But, we are looking forward to trying some new places this time.

Anyone else at the 50 day point??

April 8 - 18, 2011
Swan and Contemporary/split stay

Just booked our flight for our June 15th trip.

Thought we were going to go AirTran, but United lowered their prices today. We ended up paying $186 a ticket pre-tax for our round trip tickets. :scared1:

We just booked the Dolphin tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooooooooooooo excited.

That is a great deal! Our tickets from SC to FL in April were $360 each! Normally we fly for about $250 but prices were not dropping and we didn't want to wait any longer! So we bought ours about 2 weeks ago. :confused3

You should be!!! Your first trip AND you are staying at the Dolphin??!!

Let me just say I just returned home from a long weekend trip to WDW & didn;t stay at the S/D resort this go around. Boy did I miss it. Stayed at AKV which is very quiet and a beautiful resort but missed the location of the S/D, BCV/BWV.
I'll never make that mistake again! I wanna do over! Live and learn.

I  the Swan and Dolphin.

Was about the same for us, they haven't been under $305 for the last month. Then I checked today and actually had one listed for $153, but it was a 7am flight and not sure that the girls would handle the wake up call well. Thought $30 more a ticket for a 9am flight would be worth if for the girls, us and the other flyers. :lmao:

I know what you mean! After five straight years at the Dolphin, I don't think we can stay ANYWHERE else!! :cool1:

We'll be at the Swan for 5 days a week from Friday (after 2 days at CSR because a convention meant no room at the Swan for those nights).

Got the Nurse rate of $189 which I thought was good for Pres week! We're still mulling a balconey upgrade. We're gonna flash the preferred card and if it's $30 or less, I think we're gonna jump on it! :woohoo:

We plan to have MK and AK covered when we check in, so it's gonna be hopping between HS and Epcot for 4 days (with some Bordwalk time in there)!!!! :cool1:
