I thought I read a post on this thread about a bonus deal for signing up for the SPG Amex card with a referral. I can't find the post now though! Does anyone know about this? I would like to sign up for the card.

Ok, this is weird...I remember that post, it was just in the past day or two. But I just went back through the last 10 page of this thread, and it's not there.

I wonder if it was deleted...

I am thinking the same thing. The person was just letting us know of a better bonus offer to the one on the SPG site and that you need a referral to get the better deal. And of course if you refer you get some bonus too. PM me if you were e-mailed this offer to refer from SPG.

Unfortunately, I'm not a SPG Amex cardholder, so I don't have the referral info.

No, unfortunately...it's $10 pp, per segment. Since it's just DH and I, it's only an extra $20, which isn't too bad.

Ok, well thanks for the information...I really only need it for coming back...I can do it here tuesday morning before we leave for Pittsburgh. Thanks again! :)

Here's another good deal for S/D fans...

I am not finding that groupon- did a search on Disney's zip code- 32830. Can you be more specific where you found it or PM me with the link?? Booked dinner there for two weeks from yesterday.
thanks so much

This is our fear. We felt this way when we stayed at the Contemporary (and it was for our wedding/honeymoon trip so you can't get more magical than that) and the CR is fully owned/run by Disney. I think it has to do with it being a convention hotel maybe? It's hard to feel on vacation when you're passing people constantly wearing business suits and carrying briefcases. It pulled me back into reality too much :rotfl:

I am turning my work trip into a family vacation!! passed by the S&D on previous trips but didnt pay much attention. Now I am so excited. Spending a week with our corp rate of 129/night. Seems like a good deal even though I know I wont have a great view or a huge room. Just DH, DD and me (she is 11) so it cant be too bad I hope. Even though I have meetings at the Swan half day on Wed and most of a day on Thurs I figure M-F will still be a great time when we are at the parks. And with hoppers, family can go on without me and I can catch up when I ditch the corp clothes!! Any fun tips for us on our first time at the Swan??

thanks all, we are SOOOOOOO excited and love that each time its a different experience for us.

Hi, that was me. My post was against the rules so it was deleted. I apologize if it offended anyone.

Thanks! I saw that this morning, but I purchased a gift certificate from restaurant.com for 80% off which seems like a better deal than this, right? I have the 80% off code if anyone needs it!

Oh, wow...it's gone. That usually means it sold out.

I know they sold a ton of them because around the time I posted about it (noon EST) they had already sold something like 468 of them.

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't get to buy one, either...I was waiting to talk to DH tonight to see if that was someplace he wanted to eat.

There's always the Restaurant.com certificates...that's a $25 value for something like $3 or $4. Not too shabby.

You're right, it is a better deal...at 80% off, it's a $23 value vs. the $18 value of the Groupon discount.

Are there any larger than $25 certificates for Swalphin restaurants? I don't think I've ever seen anything larger than $25. I used these before at Blue Zoo and Garden Grove. Worked great.

No, I don't think I've ever seen anything larger than the $25 certificate, either.

I just wanted to update since someone PM'd me and I feel bad. I previously posted about the 80%, but it has expired. There is a 70% offer right now (code SWEET) instead. The 80% comes around very often, so if you're trip isn't soon, you might want to hold out :)

Just FYI for those that may not know - they do have 2 computer kiosks specifically for airline check-in, in the lobby (at The Swan it's just around the corner from the lobby). I've never asked the front desk staff do it for me, so I don't know if they routinely do this or not.

JetBlue is one of the airlines that is not available at the kiosks, so I have always asked the Dolphin Conceirge Desk to print out my boarding passes the night before we check out. :hippie:

No worries. I think the combination of complimentary Camp Dolphin and restaurant.com certificate is an excellent value. Fine dining without our 5 and 3 year old is magical.

Me, too! The Swan concierge desk is happy to assist in printing our boarding passes for Jet Blue.

Travelocity and American Express have that 20% discount code out again: LINK HERE

What's great about this promotion is if you book the hotel, you can also add park tickets and receive the 20% discount on that, as well.

Save 20% using Promo Code AMEX20H. It's good on all Travelocity "GoodBuy" hotels, which includes the Swan and Dolphin, as well as all of the Disney-owned resorts.

The details:
~Good for travel between July 19, 2011 and December 31, 2011
~Must be booked by August 15, 2011
~Qualifying purchase must be made with a valid American Express Card.
~Qualifying purchase means a three-night or longer GoodBuy Hotel stay which is offered on the Site during the Promotion Period.
~GoodBuy Hotel purchase requires a minimum spend of $800.

It looks like Travelocity is offering the same Sunsational rates offered on the S/D site...6th night free + $100 food & beverage credit. They're also offering a 40% off rate at the Swan.

The cancellation policies vary, depending on what you book, so be sure to read the fine print.

LexiC123, I can't for the life of me figure out why I can't get Swan to come up on Travelocity at all much less with a discount. I'm usually quite good at this stuff so I'm perplexed. Can you tell me what does the 40% rate say? Is there a time frame on this? Thanks so much until I can figure it out. :upsidedow
