The TTC has buses to DHS and DAK, monorail service to Epcot and MK and ferries to the MK. No buses to hotels there. You will need to go to a park to transfer to a hotel bus (other than the monorail hotels of course).
Don't forget they also don't have buses to Downtown Disney so your options when going there are taking a Disney bus from the Polynesian, your own car or a taxi.

Nope, didn't forget CRFan.;) The poster asked about parks and resorts so I was answering that.

Didn't address Lynx, DTD, SOG, water parks, gold course, mini golf, etc.

I must have missed reading that. Oh well hopefully that information I said will be good for other guests staying at the Polynesian and don't know how the bus system works.

I'm sure it will help others, CRFan.:goodvibes

DTD is another destination to which we always drive.

So there is no bus from the TTC to DTD? Is that correct? But there is a bus from the Poly to DTD I assume?

We don't rent a car so we are totally dependant upon WDW transportation.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Correct ... NO BUS directly between TTC and DTD.

Via Disney Transport buses and boats, DTD is accessible only from the resorts, never from a park or the TTC.

So yes, you can get a bus from Poly to DTD, but it will stop at one or two other resorts also (I can't recall which).

I remember back in the good old days when the TTC was actually the transportation hub. Back before Downtown Disney. if you wanted to go anywhere you went to the TTC, now you go to DTD.

I remember that too and miss it. I liked it better as there aren't a zillion traffic lights.

But that was before there were so many WDW hotels. All guests needed to use the monorail or ferries to reach the MK and I suppose those would be overwhelmed if the MK bus stops hadn't been added.

Just booked a CL room for December at the 40% military rate discount since DH is active duty AF. We've been to the resort multiple times for meals/wandering but have never stayed here and are so excited. :cool1: :cool1:

I'm subbing!

We've also found that the buses are much better from the TTC than the Poly. During the peak hours, the buses from the Poly are horrible. That, or we've just had really bad luck. Either way, finding other transportation is usually recommended, but I'm sure that's not always possible for everyone.

I love the idea that we can take the busses from the TTC as well as the Poly! I always think that all the hotel busses are slow, especially when they are shared between resorts and we have to make extra stops -- none of that with the TTC! And we can choose from boat or monorail! Looking forward to our turn at the Poly!:)

The transportation options from the Polynesian are just wonderful. By far the best at WDW IMO. And most are fun too.:cool1:

Booked Ohana's the night of our arrival based on a friend's suggestion, and that we will be able to see the fireworks. However I have a very picky husband :sad2: and I'm thinking he won't eat anything served there (he only eats meat, potatoes, cheese, bread, no veggies or fruit). Should we switch to Kona and just catch the fireworks at the beach? We will be driving all day and won't be arriving until 4:00 p.m., so I'd like to eat at the Poly (or near there) because I'm sure we'll be tired.

Have you shown him the menu? If it doesn't appeal to him then I would certainly switch to Kona...or order room service if you're really tired from your drive.

LOL! I'm the same exact way. Between the skewers of sirloin steak, BBQ pork loin, and grilled turkey there's plenty for him to enjoy. 'Ohana is a great experience. Have fun :)

I agree. My husband is the same way and Ohana is his favourite! Kona does seem to have a more exotic menu tho, although we haven't eaten there before so I'm not entirely sure.

That was our deciding factor to go with the Poly over Wilderness or Animal Kingdom Lodge. My wife was a little bummed we can't rent bikes for the day to take to/from MK & Epcot.

I was just able to switch my current reservation at the Poly to take advantage of the 4/3 deal :), and I ended up saving about 300.00 in the process! We were origanally booked from 6/26-6/30 in the Hawaii building. I had booked this last fall before I knew about the promotion, but never checked into it because I figured my travel dates wouldn't work since I was leaving on the 6/30, and usually there isn't much availability for these deals in CL rooms. I called this morning, and was able to switch my dates to 6/26-7/3 for less money than I was originally paying:cool1:
