Is there a playground at the Poly - not a water play area - but a real playground with swings and such?

If not - is there one at the GF?

:yay: Are you going to be doing live reports? I am!! :surfweb:

Woo Hoo :flower1: :butterfly :daisy: Johnsonet is going to do a live report!!!

That does mean you will be reporting from both the Poly and AKL right?

Please? Please? Pretty please with pixie dust. :flower3:

Is there any problems with a musty/moldy smell in the rooms at the poly? I know there kind of can be in the lobby areas (visited but never stayed). Planning to stay there in May since I've always wanted to, but our family is pretty sensitive to smells.

Did the wings of the contemporary at 4y old, then the villas at OKY at 16, and the WL at 22.

Thanks, and glad to be here!!!

Welcome mr. poppins! :wizard:

We have never noticed any kind of musty/moldy/unpleasant smell in any of the rooms at the Poly. I am super-sensitive to smells and can have reactions from musty/dusty type of odors and we have stayed at the Poly half a dozen times over the last few years with no issues whatsoever. I think your family should be fine! :)

I'm interested to find out also, about a playground area. I think someone said there is NOT one anymore...which is really sad. Even the values and mods have playgrounds. Is there even a water play area for toddlers or simply the zero-depth area of the pool and pray they don't run into the deep area. (We have TWO small toddlers)

Unfortunately, neither hotel has one. At least not that I've ever seen in person OR on a map!

WOOHOO! Can't wait! I love live reports!

Thanks. I love live reports too so this is going to be fun :cheer2:

Both GF and Poly have zero-depth pools AND water play areas plus beaches :cutie:

There is no "dry" playground at the Poly, but there is the beach!! Bring some sand toys. There is a small "splash-zone" area near the main pool (but separate) with spraying fountains for little ones to play in. My kids were almost 5 and almost 3 when we went - and they were both all OVER that Volcano pool. They wore their Speedo life vests, though DS probably didn't need his. It gave us security, though, as he went down that slide a MILLION times, LOL! He could swim, but with the current from the slide, etc. The vest made it easier for him. DH or I also stood near that area (not right at the bottom, though) to help him if needed. More just to make sure he got away from the bottom of the slide quickly enough (before someone else came shooting out), than b/c he was in any sort of "trouble".

Aren't you packing yet?:scared1: Just kidding...have a great trip!:goodvibes

BCV23 Your right I do need to pack I still at this haven't even started:scared1: . I need to pack for me DH and our :scared1: two DS 8,2. But I am addicted to the DIS how can I pack I might miss something :rotfl2: .

I have a question about the Spirit of Aloha show at the Poly. I made the ressies through concierge email and it's all confirmed. I read somewhere that said you need to pick up your tickets 2 hrs before showtime. Where do I pick them up? Will concierge have them for me when we get to the resort?

Thanks for the assist.

26 days to go!!!

The concierge should be able to get you those when you check in.
If they arent in your welcome packet then I would ask about them.

Agreed. When I had luau tickets, there was a message on my reservation as soon as I checked in. The CM looked it up and told me I she saw I had Spirit of Aloha reservations and could pick the tickets up at the concierge. Don't know if all the front desk CM's at the Poly do this but it was a nice touch to our stay. :goodvibes

I received a voicemail on our (Poly) room phone telling me I could pick up our tickets at the concierge desk. I'd totally forgotten to ask about them at check in because I was so excited and overwhelmed to finally be at the Poly.

Thanks for the info. I will have to remember to ask when we ck in as our show is 8 PM on our first night. We probably won't be arriving at the resort until after 4 PM as our flight doesn't arrive until 3 PM.
