Thank you so, so much SeaSpray! I think I will simply make a request for 3d floor :thumbsup2 AMAZING views.
I am off now to look at your trip report :surfweb: Thanks again!

One other question I hope someone can help with: Does anyone know if it is possible to plug a portable DVD player into the TV's in the Poly? I heard that the rooms have new LCD screens so I imagine that I can plug cables into it's inputs but thought I would double check.
Thanks!:wizard:

You are correct..there are inputs to plug in a DVD player. :thumbsup2

Can you tell me where to find them

I have seen them in the WoD store in DD as well as the Christmas Shop in the MK. I also have seen them in some of the resort shops in years past. Good luck!

Does anybody have any pictures of captain cooks? Last time we were there it was in the temporary location.

We absolutely loved the poly. I was really glad we stayed there. I would stay there again in a heart beat. Time to start planning for next year. The new rooms are really nice.

My suggestion exactly! By the time you get to your resort, you'll probably be super tired, or you will just want to relax. You'd also be saving alot of money, by staying at a value for one night rather than spending 400.00 just for 4 or less hours.
Would they really do that for me? How exactly does it work?

I totally cannot wait to go back to my home [The Polynesian]. Does anyone have a specific longhouse they like alot? I personally love Tahiti specifically because of the walking distance to the GCH.

You would book one night at a value resort. So, in your case you would book the day/night that you arrive at the value resort. After your plane lands, you'd go and check in at the value resort and the next day you'd check out of the value resort and check in at the Polynesian. You'd than only need to book the poly forthe remainder of your trip.

When I check out do I contact Bell services to come get my luggage and take it to poly or do I have to set that up before hand?

When staying at a Value resort, you contact Luggage Service (the Value equivalent of Bell Services) and arrange with them to have your luggage picked up before you check out. Luggage service works different from Bell Services in that they seem to operate hourly instead of coming shortly after you call. I'd suggest making arrangements with Luggage Service for pickup the next morning as soon as you get your room keys upon check-in.

You don't need to be present in your room for them to get and transfer your luggage to your new resort. Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

I LOVE turn-down service!!

On the concierge level it's automatic; at any deluxe resort it's available through request. When you get to your room call "Housekeeping" and request it for the duration of your trip. :)

On our Poly visit in 2005 we stayed in the Tahiti longhouse. I requested turn-down service once we were in the room and heading out for dinner (I had I forgotten to ask when we check in). They did turn-down that night. However the next night they did not. I called the next morning to ask for turn-down service and ask if I had to set something up with the front desk to receive nightly service (we were staying for 7 nights). I was told by housekeeping that I had to call each and every day to request it. I didn't call the next day and yes, they were correct I had to call each day. The housekeeping manager informed me that they were cutting down on turn-downs unless they were requested each day. I don't know if that is still their policy as our next visit we stayed in the Hawaii longhouse and received nightly turn-down service without requests. My point is to say, if you don't receive it nightly, just request it. It is such a nice service, what warm and wonderful way to return to your room. :cloud9:

Has anyone ordered a cake to be sent to their room for a surprise? I want to do this for Fathers day, and I would love to see some pictures. I searched the cake thread, and not much came up at the Poly.

Buss1fan - When we stayed at the Poly last year I wanted to order a cake for our fireworks cruise. I was told by concierge that the Poly does not do cakes, they had to be ordered through GF or CR. I requested what I was thinking of and left it to concierge to place the order. It came from the GF bakery and was FANTASTIC. You may want to check out what all the GF has to offer. You may have to go over to the GF to pick it up. I believe Terri (SEASPRAY) has also ordered through GF, perhap she has ideas for you. There is a cake thread the link is http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1173219

There are listed as anniversary & birthday cakes. However, there is some great pictures and ideas as well as phone number and suggested place to have a special cake made. Hope you find what you would like. :)
