If you didn't get a ground floor pool view, then Fiji on the Luau Cove side is great for little kids because they can play on the beach right there outside the room. It is both very close to the building and NOT busy, so very easy to use.

Thanks for the info!

Just back from 4 nights at the GF and was surprised to find out he booked bounceback at the Poly while there :lovestruc

To be honest, I have some serious hesitations after our amazing stay at the GF, but I'm trying to go into this with an open mind!

How is the Poly when it comes to building requests? I know the usual "it depends on when you check-in, resort capacity, etc" but was curious if anyone did not have their building request met! We're in a GV room and would like to request Fiji but don't care what side or floor.

typhoonlagooner-- when we went in 2006 for "Jersey Week" we requested exactly this: FIJI, ground floor, Cove side. And got exactly that. They actually gave me a choice at check in-- "Are you *sure* you don't want a balcony on the marina side?" and I said... nope! And got a great room. We checked in around 12:30 pm on a Sunday and had taken ME to the resort.

Hmm... great to hear! I really like the "private" aspect of the Fiji building with the location and beach area. Would love to be on Cove side, but no complaints either/or! Not sure if it's one of the more requested buildings or not...

We're checking in on a Monday (8/18) and as of right now it seems that "everything" is available at the Poly for our dates. I know that's subject to change but with checking in after the weekend rush, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the best!

I'd like to be as close as possible to the pool, CGH, and Marina compared to the TTC and trying to avoid the monorail side rooms.

I am hoping to book a bounce back when we go (just 10 more days)!! What kind of a deal did you get? Do you know if the dates went past sept.? Any information is much appreciated. Thanks :)

We're currently "fighting" about what exactly was offered lol...

I seem to recall a bounceback offer for Deluxe resorts at %30 off for select dates in April and May and another for the villas at %40 off for select "value" weeks throughout the year.

Yet he's saying I had it backwards and most likely he's right since he did book it lol: %30 off standard deluxe for select weeks throughout the year. He said there were no dates after early September though. We managed to get the Poly (GV) at %30 off for 6 nights in August.

Hi There!

We booked the Poly on bounceback too - there were dates available through labor day (that's when we're going), but nothing for Oct - which was our first choice.

We ended up with a 30% off rack rate and booked garden view.

We were hoping for Oct too but we can swing Sept especially with the 30% discount!!

Hi everyone this is a great thread, I finally finished reading everything and can't wait for more. We are staying at the poly in Dec for the 1st time and I am sooo excited. I am still a little confused on the boats/ferry and ECV's. My Dad will be on a EVC and I though they had 2 different kinds of boats 1 that doesn't allow evc and one that does if the person can get off while the boat is moving. After reading these post it doesn't seem like what I though is true but just want to make sure b/c if we can board a boat it would make going to the WL much easier via monarail to CR then small boat to WL. Any other suggestions for a evc user?

With an ECV, the quickest/easiest way to get from Poly to WL may be to take the monorail over to the MK, and then hop on the resort bus for WL. Or, if you will have a car/van available, driving is an option well worth considering.

Thanks Matt'sMom, not sure yet if we will have our car, waiting to see what kind of airline deals comes out vs gas prices for driving.

AHHHH! I just got back and could cry :( the Poly was SO AWESOME I didn't want to leave! My whole family loved it (so I am trying to convince them to go back for our summer vacation!) I will post my pics and reviews later in my TR and on this thread but I just wanted to check in and let everyone know that it was AMAZING!

PS - We had the CUTEST bellman when we checked in. His name was Iggy and I had such a crush on him! Unfortunately I never saw him during the rest of our trip though, LOL!

Welcome back:banana: Can't wait to see your pictures and read your review since this will be our first stay there in May.

TDISFAMILY...
I take my friend with an ecv all the time. We sometimes either stay @ the Poly or WL. I would suggest as the OP to take the monorail to MK... then ..GO to the WL/Ft. Wilderness "boat ramp" and take the boat to the WL. Its a big boat and also goes to Ft. Wilderness.

There are sometimes, never that I've seen or experienced, that it is said: the water level won't allow for ecv's or wc's..but they have a 4-5 foot ramp to access the boat and you should not have a problem. There is also a boat cm at the dock and if it can't be done, he/she will let you know.
Its a really nice ride by boat...don't miss it !! ;)

Thanks SENECABEACH I thought I remember reading somwhere on these boards some larger boats do allow ECV, This will only be my 2nd trip staying on property so I am just getting use to disney transportation. Just wasn't sure which locations have the larger boats that do allow Evc most of the time. the one for WL/FW will definatly come in handy for our DEC trip.

CINDERELLYCINDERELLY I can't wait to see more pic of the POLY and I will be reading that TR

Another option if you're in any of the Eastern longhouses is to go to the TTC and catch the large ferry to the TTC. Then as others suggested take the bus or boat to WL. The ferry crosses to the MK in about 5 minutes making for a quick crossing. It is even easier than the monorail to roll on and there's plenty of room. Occasionally, the monorail cars get crowded for ECV and wheelchairs.

Glad you had such a great trip, CinderellyCinderelly!
