I also found that the CMs at Captain Cook's were helpful. One day they rearranged what I had ordered so I would only use one snack credit instead of two. (Fries can be a side with meals. You have to ask.)

I laughed because in addition to club level, I felt like I couldn't possibly use all the credits from the DDP and here she was saving me another credit!! LOL...

Good Morning,

So in your opinion do you think the dining plan is too much if you are staying Club Level? I am still going back and forth whether to book the quick service plan as I believe the Club Level Lounge offers so much!

Although it will take a while to get through all of the info, I'm excited that there is so much poly info in one place - thanks for starting this thread!!!!

Can you still bring like a portable DVD player, games systems....etc to hook up?

Cuase I looked at some of you guys photos and I didn't see a plug in. Maybe it was just me.:confused3

For us, it was a lot. We were glad we had two 2TS meals to use up some of those many credits!

I just looked at the picture of the tv and I don't see the plugs either, but I'm thinking that there may be a small panel on the bottom that opens to reveal the plugs. I'm just not sure! I *thought* there were input jacks, but now I just don't know. lol Hopefully someone who knows for sure will come along and give you a positive answer. :)

We did the regular dining plan while staying club level, a couple of years ago. We enjoy sit-down restaurants, but between the appetizers, entree, dessert, etc, PLUS the food in the lounge, it really was a bit too much. Now, with the new quick service dining plan, it wouldn't be as much food, although it's still a LOT of food, in my opinion.

Look at it this way; in club level, you can count on having a continental breakfast each morning, then I think the new quick service plan includes 2 meals a day, right? You'd have lunch and dinner covered. So you'd have to decide whether you'd ALSO want to have the hot food offerings that the club level provides each evening, and whether that'd be too much or not. Of course, you don't have to partake of the food in the lounge, but it's there and is part of club level (and it always tastes fanstastic!). lol

Again, a tough decision, and a lot of it depends on your dining/eating style, and whether you think you'd want the 2 quick service meals each day or not. :)

So was the Luau that bad? My husband and kids are so looking forward to it - I really would rather save the money and not do it. Part of me wants to put my foot down and say we aren't going - but then the childish part of me wants to go so I can say "I told you so" when they don't like it!!! :rotfl2: I'm so bad.

Are you doing dinner at 'Ohana? With the ages that your kids are, I think they'd really enjoy that. I've never done the Luau; I just could never make myself book it, after reading so many so-so reviews about it, even though I really want to try it some day. I guess I'm as bad as you, regarding indecision about it. :rolleyes1 LOL

HI Everyone!!!
It's very late (or early???). We just got back from one week at the POLY - club level. Amazing!!!! We were in the Hawaii building. I don't even know where to start.....the CMs in our building were awesome! Actually, we booked lagoon view for next August!!!
We had a few meals at Kona. Very good. Breakfast at Ohana's. Great character interaction. Did the Spirit of Aloha show....eh....I could take it or leave it. It was very hot at the 5:15. I would definitely recommend the later show when the temps are hot.
We got lucky weather wise....thank goodness. It was raining a lot today, the day we were leaving. We got caught in MK in a downpour, trying to get back to the resort. Resort monorail was not running. Of course, our clothes was soaked and our bags were already checked. But once again, the concierge staff took such good care of us once we got there. All was fine as soon as we were sitting in the club!!
We did not get to see Michael Phelps. We were in MK that day (night). We were shocked to hear he had been there.
Oh, this was our first time using Magical Express. It was good.
Anyway, thanks again for this great thread. Now I can offer some advice, too, and answer any questions you have - or at least try. LOL....
I'm going to go back and read some old posts from here, since I now know exactly what everyone is talking about.
The POLY is a great place!!!! Club level is so great! It's a totally amazing experience.

Welcome back!!! I'm glad that you had such a great time :sunny:

Well just wanted to say hi and that this has been one of my favorite threads. I don't post often but I lurk quite a bit. We will be heading for the Poly in 9 more days. We will be staying for 13 days in a garden view room. Can't say enough about the Poly. It is by far, my favorite resort. This will be our second stay there. We stayed for 9 days last Sept. and my DH and I have found our home. We knew we were home from the moment we walked into the lobby. You see, my DH and I fell in love many years ago at a resort with a Tahitian atmosphere. Romance among the palms you might say. Anyhow, I have learned quite a few things just reading all the posts. Absolutely love all the pictures too.:thumbsup2 Just wanted to say thank you to everyone of you for all the advise I've gleaned by just lurking. Would absolutely love to stay in July for a few days for DH and I's 15th wedding anniversary. Wonder if we could book concierge level on an airline discount? Anybody know? It really is a nice perk. The only way I could even possibly stay at the Poly. Sure would love to stay club level lagoon view just once. Only 9 more days till I can sit and enjoy my Lapu Lapu by the lagoon---pure heaven! I thought about asking for a certain longhouse but I decided to throw caution to the wind and let fate decide where we get placed. I'm just gonna be glad to be there. Once again, thanks to all of you for such a wonderful thread!:flower3:

Woo hoo! Enjoy your lapu-lapu!! :cool2:

Yes you can hook up DVD players or Playstations to the front of the flat panel TVs in the rooms. We found this out last year when we threw in the Playstation and a few games for the boys on a spur of the moment going out the door kinda thing. Man was that the best thing we ever did. They boys got to play while we rested. Can't tell ya how nice that was. We plan to do it again this year because I have a feeling we may have a little bit more weather to deal with than we have had in the past. Hope that answers your question.:)

Can someone tell me how long the daybeds are? My son was a lot shorter the last time we stayed there, and I am afraid he is too tall for the daybed at Poly.

How tall is your DS?? Here's a picture of the daybed when it's folded forward for sleeping. My DSs (now 20 and 17) took turns sleeping in it when they were 18 and 15, and about 5'10", with no trouble at all. They said it was pretty comfortable.

He is about 5'11 now and is 13 yrs. old. He will be 14 1/2 when we are at Poly.

I just saw the pic of the daybed opened up at the poly. Thanks for the picture. Does anyone know if they have those toddler bedrails for their beds? I was thinking that my daughter could sleep there if there was a rail instead of a port a crib, she will be 2 and 3 months when we go. Any ideas?

All Disney resorts have the bedrails and you can ask for more then one. I use them for my DS.

COOL!!!! Great news! Sometimes the port a crib gets in the way. We always have to have her fall asleep on our bed and then put her in the port a crib, now she will think she as a special bed and will probably fall asleep there!!

I fully understand my DS's are 8 & 2. I'm glad I could help. :goodvibes

He'll be even taller in another year, so I'm not sure how comfortable he'd be in the daybed at that point. Maybe someone who's going soon can measure the length of the bed, just so you'll know the exact size.

We used the daybeds when our DD was 2 and 3 years old. The railings worked great and the room was much better organized without the port-a-crib. Plus she loved having her own little bed and I thought it looked more stable than those little cribs.

Have a great trip!:)

It was too much for us too. We had many CS meals leftover. The breakfast offerings are enough to start the day. We did one TS a day and that was basically enough for the day.

We stayed CL last month without the dining plan. Most days we had our big meal at lunch. We spent about $100 a day on food for myself, DH and 2 teen DD. And we all like to eat.

ONe thing I just thought of......
I loved the press pot of coffee at Kona and the macadamia nut pancakes. Yummmmm! Wish I had them right now. I had the Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's. I just thought it was ok.

The lunch plate (or something like that) at Kona was also very good. I had the chicken.

You can tell I am hungry right now, thinking of food!

Yes, bedrails are complimentary. Our DDs will be 2 and 3 when we go. We plan to use bedrails on both the daybed as well as one of the queens. (Unless we're fortunate enough that they will both sleep in the same bed without rolling all over one another! haha) Just request how many sets you need when you make your reservation... :thumbsup2

RE: the daybed - does mousekeeping automatically put it back together during the day and then come unfold and make the bed up again at night or do we need to do that on our own. (We're not in concierge...just regular garden view category)
