What kind of laundry facilities do they have at WL? Where are they located?

redwingsmickey,

From FloridaCat's post page one:

WL LAUNDRY:
Location: 1st floor across from the elevators down from Roaring Forks

Washers: 5 (med sized loads) $2.00 a load

Dryers: 10 $1.00 for 15 min, (60 min max)

Go in the evening time right before the rush. There is a waiting line till about 11:00pm. If you didn't come back for your dryer in time your stuff is taken out! Everyone is splitting their wash load into 2 dryer loads so it would dry faster. Most of the WL VET ladies reccmend early morning.

Thanks MAGICinMYHEART,

I told my wife that someone would get us an answer in no time and you came through!!

Hi all:
After researching the web and calling CRO today, I think that it is truly rack rate at WL for 20th anniversary or stay at POR in my nice king room. MAGICinMYHEART I even tried the weekend before Sat-Tuesday as you suggested and no discounts rooms are left...all of you luck WL-booked buddies out there have the rooms. Be glad. I didn't know Ivan could be so expensive w/o hitting up directly!

So thanks again for the advise and I know that the trip will be nice even if not at WL...but rats, we really wanted that resort!
XO, Ann

For those of you who have stayed on Concierge level at WL (Majestic?), do you remember if they have ever offered the Portobello Soup from Artists Point??

Does any one remember the AP rate for a 1 bedroom villa during last Feb? We are booked with a AAA rate, but I sure would like a good AP rate!

Can't remember for sure but I can say the clam chowder I had once was awsome! Sorry I couldn't help more. The nightly offerings usually include soup and a appetizer type dish from AP or WCC. I love the spring rolls with the spicy sauce from AP. Yum!

Majestic is right about the Crispy Spring Rolls with hot sweet and sour sauce, (yummy) and they also serve the Artist Point Cobbler with seasonal berries just no ice cream. I also remember a beef dish....beef strips with sauteed veggies. But I don't remember any Portobello Soup, but that doesn't mean they didn't offer it...

I don't remember last Feb. but the discounts for the Home-away-from-Home have been the same as deluxe rooms about $80.00 dollars off rack rate.

What you said really has helped me picture how hard it will be to get into WL from POR. I just did s/w DH and presented the scenario...he of course will think about it but doesn't like the cost. I don't either. We might just keep POR but Monday AM I will get my travel agent on this question and see what he knows about all of the rack rate jazz for that weekend. Boy, I sure know how to pick em...went right from choosing landfall day of Ivan to the blackout weekend in November...anyone who wants to play poker with me would surely win!

Thanks again for enlightening me as to WL booking difficulties and may all of you who have your WL stay locked in apppreciate it very much...or tell me and Tig-girl before you cancel!::yes::

Now do ya know why we WL VETS wanna keep WL as one of WDW's best kept secrets???;)

That's actually VERY true Kim! Remember, we couldn't get a concierge (or even regular) room at WL for our trip this past May and ended up staying at the Polynesian. (and didn't care for it....)

It has been getting harder and harder to get concierge access at WL. The manager of the floor claims attendance has been so good they are looking to expand the offerings to other floors.

Just my opinion.........but I'm thinking that the article in the Disney Magazine rating WL as the #1 favorite made a lot of people book there that maybe wouldn't have considered it otherwise. I had mixed emotions when I saw that it was rated #1! I wanted to keep it a secret I guess, and now we couldn't even get our full stay booked there! :(

Have any of you WL vets had experience with WL helping plan special events? I know most concierge castmembers can help, but we are staying in the WL villas. We are doing a Grand Gathering in Feb. We will hopefully be doing some of the those special events but I was wondering if any one had a contact person at WL to help plan an anniversary party. I have seen posts about other resorts having Events Managers (like the GF). I have asked a few CRO reps but they were no help. I even asked the Grand Gathering people and they acted like I was from outer space! I really want to do something extra special with our family. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

For Friday night, Oct 1 I used the BAT code to get a rate of $188/night including tax for a courtyard view room.

Mousesavers indicates the BAT rate for a Courtyard view room at WL at $149/night.

Should I keep calling back until I get a reservationists that will give me a $149 rate?

What rates did other people get for WL Courtyard using BAT?

Call the main number for WL and go to the front desk. Ask them where you should go. If you don't get a good answer, ask to speak to a manager or supervisor and keep going up from there.

I don't see anything wrong with getting someone there to help plan what you are looking for but I'm not 100% positive.

We usually stay concierge and, as you mentioned, they do lots of that stuff for you.

Telephone: (407) 824-3200

Please let me know if I can help further. :)
