pamlovestigger - welcome!

You could always make the reservation - which I believe they will hold for 14 days - without putting anything down. As soon as you know for sure, you could call up and then book the stay.

Or

You could always make the reservation and put down the deposit. If it ends up that you can't go, you can call and they will give you a refund.

Good luck!

What are and how much are the treatments offered at WL? I believe I read somewhere that there are some massage's available there?!?!:Pinkbounc That would be a good treat for Mommy!

When we had to cancel our ressie last year , there was no problem, we got a full refund .

Good luck !!!

We are currently booked in a Honeymoon Room at the WL in October. We stayed there a couple of years ago at Christmas time and liked it because there did not seem to be too many concierge level rooms so the area was never very busy.

However, since that stay I have heard of people being able to add on concierge level access at check-in even when they are not in a concierge room or all the concierge rooms are full. This has me worried that the "lounge" area will now be very busy.

Can anyone who has stayed recently let me know of their concierge experiences?

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I am trying to decide if the WL will be our choice for an upcoming trip. We have always stayed at monorail resorts in the past. My biggest concern is not being happy without monorail access. It is nice to pop over to the MK in a flash. I have made the boat ride from the WL to MK before. While it is very nice it is also not so quick. Are there any other monorail resort vets out there that have enjoyed the WL enough to go back considering the difference in transportation.

Also, if we do WL we will book a concierge room. Where are the concierge rooms at the WL? Can you book different views with concierge or only request? Any other comments about concierge service, amenities, and food will be greatly appreciated. We usually stay in the Polynesian concierge. Are there any significant differences in the two?

I'm sorry for all of the questions. I just don't have any experience with this resort.

This is a great and informative thread.

We just got back from the 7 night western and 4 nights at WL. I wanted to share that DH and I loved Territory Lounge. We went one evening and had a few drinks. Only a handful of people were there. It was so nice to get away from the crowds and heat! We went again around 10:30pm after a llooooonnngggg day in the parks. This time DSs met us (14 and 16) and we had snacks and drinks. Great nachos, potato skins, wings, and pizza and service too. Only thing we did not try was the cheese plate.

Are their smoking rooms at the WL and if so what area, floor etc.. are they?

Thank you!!!!!

There is a ton of basic info on WL on the first few pages of this thread. I found this on the second post:

Smoking rooms are 6th floor, Building "B", North Wing. This would be Woodsview and inner Courtyard.

Hope this helps!

On the Parks Strategies board someone was asking about transportation back to WL after E-Nights. He wanted to know if the boats are running then or will he have to take the monorail and bus. He received two different responses. So I decided to ask the experts.
I need to know this info too.

Thanks so much...this is the BEST thread!

I don't have any experience at WL, either, but this is what I found:

CONCIERGE ROOMS: All are located on the 7th floor as well as the Vice and presidential Suites. Views vary!

Breakfast 7-10 a.m.

Fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, croissants, cereals, juices, coffee, tea

Afternoon refreshments -- 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Fresh-baked cookies, chips, pretzels, fresh fruit, gummies.

Evening 5-7 p.m.

Wine, cheeses (Northwest cheese platters), soup of the day (chicken noodle, chowder, minestrone), salad (grilled chicken, Caesar), peanut butter and jelly, marinated vegetables, specialty item every night from Artist Pointe restaurant (e.g., salmon, sturgeon, veal, venison)

Sodas, bottled water (bottled water may not be out other times of day, but they’ll get it for you).

Desserts 8-10 p.m.

Cookies, brownies, mini-fruit tarts, caramel/chocolate balls, liqueurs, wine, coffee.

*****

Concierge is located on seventh floor – “rather small floor” -- w/secured access (insert key in elevator slot to get to 7th floor). Concierge food area overlooks WL lobby. Tables are available. Concierge food area not far from any room.

Concierge rooms are same size as rooms in rest of WL. Three views are available: Magic Kingdom, inner courtyard (pool/waterfall), and overlooking WL villas.

One of Majestic's posts is where I found the lounge offering info.

Hope this helps!

The boats will run 1 hour after E-Night ends! In fact, on our last stay at WL, we did E-Night...and had no problem getting back to the resort!

Erika,

Thank you so much for your response. I did not see the previous post that you referred to. Thank you for finding it for me.

There is one thing I am still confused about, however. Can I book specific room views or do I only get to request views. I would like to book the view I want if possible. It will be okay either way. I just like knowing what I'm going to get before I get there.

Thank you for all of help.

Thanks to all WL lovers for sharing your resort.....:D :D

But while I loved the themeing, WCC, and the staff....I have to say the transportation was a nightmare and the pool was too small....

I do have to admit that we usually stay at BWV so we walk to MGM and Epcot....but it just seemed getting anywhere from WL took forever and through another resort.....during our week it was Fort Wilderness and then the Grand Floridian the second half of the week....I'm spoiled and I hated the trasportation from WL

Then the pool...Yes it was summer in July but it was strickly skin to skin contact in the pool...YUCK....we went and visited a CM friend at BW recreation one day and while the BW pool seemed crowded it didn't have the overcrowded feel that WL did....but then again I wasn't in the pool just walking around it.....

It was nice to experience another resort....

Check in was a breeze....well it should have been it was 7:00pm....we had booked a standard room and was upgraded to a courtyard view....We had rooms 2132 and 2134 right off the lobby, the rooms faced the VWL and the quiet pool there, we were across the hall from the elevators and ice machine...which in my opinion was perfect.

minnie my my,

You are very welcome! Majestic posted that info on another thread that I responded to, so it wasn't too hard to find it for me ;).

The only thing I would suggest about booking specific Concierge
room views is to call WDW CRO directly and ask them or you can wait for a WL expert whose actually stayed WL CL to answer your question. Good luck!

:wave2:

Ok guys, had to share......We originally booked AKL on the 5+2 Dream Maker because we thought we should try something new. Well, now we're getting close to being 45 days out and just couldn't stand it......we had to switch our ressie to WL!!! I'm sure we would have loved AKL, as I've heard some great things about it, but our true hearts lie at WL. So, we're coming back again, and I truly can't wait. I'll probably get tears in my eyes when I enter the lobby again!

Just had to share...I knew all of the WL fans would understand.

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to tell you all how much I enjoy this thread! A BIG THANK YOU for the helpful & interesting info you've provided. I'm currently planning our next World family trip - a GG for Nov/Dec 2005. I have just about everyone convinced that Wilderness Lodge would be the perfect spot for us. Believe it or not, I've read all 104 pages here, but I'm sure I'll still have many questions. I thought I'd 'introduce' myself rather than lurking about, since I read this thread just about every day. Can't wait to be part of the Wilderness Lodge family!!! :jumping1:

Thanks again!!!
Jessica

Welcome to this thread, Mickey's Sister!
We're happy that you came out of lurking mode!

I already feel like I'm a part of the WL family, and I've never even stayed there or any other WDW resort for that matter :teeth:! It's because of the people who frequent this thread that I feel so comfortable here :grouphug:.

You must be having a ball planning. . .If you have ANY questions about WL, don't hesitate to post them here. There are so many kind and generous people here who are willing to help.
