Hello:
We stayed at WL last trip and loved it (999ghosts, if you still read this--thanks again!)
The question I have is we are thinking about a "Lobby View" "room. So here's the questions:
1) Are the lobby rooms Standard View, woodsview, courtyard, or a combination? 2) Are you allowed to pull up chairs and just sit next to the rail, or are there designated "sitting areas?" 3) I'm not terribly noise sensitive, but do the doors/wall block out most of the noise from the lobby? 4) For those who have stayed in these rooms, what are the recommended areas and/or floors?

dpic,

I will try and answer your questions....Anyone else can also jump in and help if I get something wrong.

Your first question...
1) Are the lobby rooms Standard View, woodsview, courtyard, or a combination? It is a combination you will have Standard Room Views over WCC and over the Customer Services (check-in) Area on both sides of the Lobby The Rooms that are located facing the lake but off the Lobby are Courtyard Views The best of all the views, some of these rooms also are referered to as the "Bear Face Rooms".

2) Are you allowed to pull up chairs and just sit next to the rail, or are there designated "sitting areas?" They already have wonderful setting areas located around the landings so you wont have to pull up any chairs just enjoy your own little viewing area of the Lobby below.

3) I'm not terribly noise sensitive, but do the doors/wall block out most of the noise from the lobby? Yes the room walls & doors block the noise from The Lobby...Sometime the noise from WCC gets loud but I don't think it will cause you any worry.

4) For those who have stayed in these rooms, what are the recommended areas and/or floors? I would definitely recommend one of the Lobby Courtyard Views.

Enjoy your Trip and have a Great time at the Lodge.

Do the rooms with bunks really offer that much more floor space? Is it worth requesting one for that reason? I've heard some people say that you can barely walk around the room with two queens and a crib.THANKS!!!!:wave2:

Opps, I almost missed your question the rooms that have queen size beds are fine they have room between the walls to walk and there is also room between the bed and the balcony. 340 sq ft so you have plenty of room to walk around each bed...When most people have a Pack and Play Crib they place it on the wall next to the TV Armoire where the connecting door to an addition room would go...this area is recessed to allow for door clearence so it is wide enough for the small crib. If you request the Bunk beds you will just have more floor space the difference between a queen size bed area to a twin size bed area. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone! We have a Woods View room booked for June with a request for bunk beds. Is there a list anywhere that has the bunk bed room numbers? I was just trying to find out the best Woods View bunk rooms or the room numbers of any upgraded bunk rooms-just in case an upgrade is available ;) Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for the great answer! When we stayed last time, I really thought about requested a lobby view, but some thought it would be too noisy. Now, having been there I would love the thought of walking out of my room to see the huge WL lobby before me.

Have you stayed there? If so, what are other thoughts you might have? Also, I'm just a tad confused about room location. Standard rooms are above WCC and check-in, and Countyard is above the creek area (facing the entrance), but where are the Woodsview rooms located for a lobby view?

Thanks again, and any other comments (especially from people who have stayed in a lobbyview room) please hop in.

Dan

Your info. and pictures were SOOOOOO helpful. I'll think we'll wait to request bunks when the kids are a little older - especially since the portable crib will fet nicely in the double queen room.

Thanks again!!!!

I don't believe there are Woods Views off the Lobby because of the service area behind the WCC, and the roof off the Customers Service side. Every time I have made a Woods View reservation we have been upgraded to Courtyard View... I believe most woods View are on the North Wing side of the Lodge. Usually you will find me over at the Villas.

Is Saturday May 22 @ 2:00pm-4:00pm at The Lodge good for you, if so I will let everyone else know. Roy may even be able to join us.

Room 6127 or 6047 would fill the bill, both are non-smoking with one queen and bunk beds. * note Room 6047 may have a view of the EWP, from balcony.
Beckie
Opps, found more 4113, 4145, 4165, 5061, 5117, 5149, & 6121. [/B]

Beckie,

I noticed you mentioned rooms 6127 and 6047 are non-smoking. But I thought all 6th floor rooms were SMOKING?
Or is it only 6th floor rooms on the north wing?

Thanks!

Floridacat explained it to me, the 6th floor is smoking but only the rooms in the main building which is over the lobby I believe. FC, correct me if I am wrong on this.

Last September, my parents stayed in a room on the 6th floor with a woods view not in the main towers and they were in a smoking room. Shrug.

I know that when I used to smoke (Yippy!) and we stayed in 5137 (I think that was it) we had a villas courtyard room and that was smoking but that was also in 2000 so things may have changed since then.

A room assigner has told me that Smoking Rooms are now 6th floor North wing. The reason for the switch was because the elevators are located closer to the South wing. I guess guest complained of the smell of smoke? Smoking rooms in 2002 were South wing(either 5th or 6th floor).

No fair! You got us all drooling over here! :) :teeth:

I have a Wishes cruise leaving from WL on Fri., May 21st at 8:15 p.m. Six of the people (two parties) I had lined up for this cruise have changed their plans so I now have six spots open.

I know some regulars on this board were trying to arrange a meet so I was offering these spots to them.

The cost is $120 +15% tip for driver, or $11.50/per passenger for 10 adults and 2 kids. I am asking the same amount for kids and adults so I don't have to keep recalculating per person costs.

I have 4 adults and 2 kids (mine) confirmed.

I thought about posting this on the cruise board, but I since some WL guests were planning to get together, I thought it might be nice to offer this.

Any takers?

Diana

AC has the smoking correct and we had it confirmed. FORGET any smoking room you had prior to spring 2003.
