I know this has been asked before - probably by me - but it is just easier to ask again rather than search through the thread. Does anyone know the hours of operation for the boat launch to the contemporary? Maybe this time I'll remember to write it down lol.

Enjoy the magic of the Bear.

Has anyone ever done the fishing excursion from the WL? Does a CM go with you and help you or do they just give you a boat and send you on your way?
I have the package with free recreation and my daughter (12) has always wanted to go fishing.
Any other recreation ideas would be appreciated too!
Thanks:wave2:

DisneyFanatik
The other views also have bunk beds, so being upgraded wouldn't make receiving a bunk bed impossible, it has more to do with availability...I wouldn't turn-down a upgrade to Courtyard View if it means giving up a room with bunk beds though.

The best way to visit the Contemporary, would be to take the small launch (Blue Flag Resort Boat) from the dock at Wilderness Lodge.

Your going to love the Lodge.

Goodmorning !!!

I am just about finished planning our itinerary, but wanted to ask a few questions about the boat transportation .

We are planning a few meals at the Polynesian and GF. Now, I know I can get TO those resorts from the MK either by boat or by monorail.
But can I get FROM those resorts, back to the WL by boat?
And can I getTO the Poly and GF by :boat: from WL?

I know there are two boats. Green flag for MK and blue flag for the Contemporary. I guess I am asking , if the blue flag boat also makes the rounds to the Poly and GF.

Have I confused you yet?

Ok what we do is this. The boat that goes TO the MK only makes stops at Fort Wilderness so you CAN take that to the MK then take the monorail from there but I would recommend that you instead take the small boat with the blue flag over to the Contemporary and then take the monorail from there to the Polynesian or Grand Floridian. That is what "WE" do at least.

Hope this helps. :)

Yes, it does help! I had forgotten about that option Fred.

And, I assume we can get back to WL the same way? Monorail from Poly or GF TO the Contemporary---then take the boat back to WL ?

The whole monorail/TTC thing still confuses me.I think I need to look at a monorail map (if there is one).
There is a resort/MK monorail loop, and then a Epcot loop.Correct?or not?

You are correct. It works both directions but when you get off the boat AT the CR, ask the driver what time the boat stops running TO WL. We missed it one night and had to take a cab. :)

The epcot monorail only loops at Epcot to turn around and head back to the TTC. So, we take the Monorail to the TTC then switch trains to the epcot monorail. It's not as hard as I may be making it sound. Trust me. :)

It's ONLY not convenient if you don't like walking a little bit.

Of course, don't forget busses for Epcot. The longest wait I have had is 15 minutes and in most cases it is less than that.

where the parking lot for the WL is located and how far it is from the main entrance?

Also, I saw an arial view of the lodge which left me with this question......in the main lobby part of the lodge, the rooms over the wcc would have an outside view of the woods. On the other side of the lobby, with rooms located above the check-in desk, it appears (from the arial view I saw) that there was another building attached to the main building. I am not sure, then, what type of outside view these rooms would have. Just curious if anyone might have an idea. Thanks! :wave2:

i'll let those that are better at it help with the view....as for the parking lot....it is parallel to the front of the lodge.....IMO...it is very close, but I haven't stayed at all the on-site resorts either.....it would take us about 2 minutes from door to car....HTH

I can give the view question a go...

I think part of the 'other' building you saw might be the covered walk way that leads from the mail lobby down to the bus area. The Mercantile and Game Room are attached to that same walkway so that might appear as an attached building on an arial view- just a guess.

We had a woodsview room (5th floor) that was on over the 'check-in' desk. The view was really 'green metal roof' with some trees in the distance. Quiet but not all that scenic.

I did really enjoy opening my door to the lobby. Initially I was disappointed with the view but then soon forgot about it as we were hardly every there and I really loved my early morning time when I would open my door and be met with the lobby.

Hope that helps.

I t does indeed help.....thanks corky and campinggal. The green, metal roof that you referred to, cammppinggal is probably the roof of the building that I saw in the arial view of the lodge. Thanks again!:wave2:

SpeechGuy,
The arial view would have an extention off the lodge this would be Buttons & Bells game room and The Mercantile. Then a walk-way to The Villas @ Wilderness Lodge. This is on the same level as the lobby but the extention off the main building is only one floor. No guest rooms are above the game room.

TooBoyz4us,

The fastest way to reach the Poly, or GF would be to catch the inter=resort bus that runs from Wilderness Lodge to TTC and also Ft. Wilderness Campground. You would depart at TTC and either walk to The Poly or catch the Resort Monorail and ride to the Main building of the Poly or to the GF. The busses run
late, long after the boats stop running. ::yes::

Please keep in mind there is no resort to resort transportation, except WL, FW, CR. You have to use a park to switch or TTC. Theboats are usualy done one hour after park closing, but buses continue to run late.

FYI: FW has Trails End Buffet which is a very good Buffet. No PS required and very kid friendly. Also has a kid section buffet with the best mac & cheese. Very resonable prices. Kinda ver to your right, just a short walk from the dock.
