Goodmorning !!!

I am just about finished planning our itinerary, but wanted to ask a few questions about the boat transportation .

We are planning a few meals at the Polynesian and GF. Now, I know I can get TO those resorts from the MK either by boat or by monorail.
But can I get FROM those resorts, back to the WL by boat?
And can I getTO the Poly and GF by :boat: from WL?

I know there are two boats. Green flag for MK and blue flag for the Contemporary. I guess I am asking , if the blue flag boat also makes the rounds to the Poly and GF.

Have I confused you yet?

You can also take a bus to the TTC (VERY quick ride!) and walk to the Poly or catch the monorail to GF....another suggestion!

Thanks Magic,

Glad to hear those extensions off the lobby are only one floor. I can see where a 5th or 6th floor room would be much better on that side of the building.:wave2:

PACKING UPDATE: No need for heavy gear, a light jacket or sweat shirt for the cool mornings and late evenings. We are in a dry spell, but that could change fast, so throw in a couple of gallon size Zip Lock bags. Great for protecting cameras, phones and billfolds. If you have little ones, then a wet wash rag in one is a blessing.

I just want to clarify something on CL room views. Can you see MK from any of the rooms on the 7th floor/CL? I hear conflicting stories - some say you can and others say the tree tops now hinder the view. Should I be requesting "Woods View/MK View" on my ressie? I've already mentioned the room preference when making my ressie, but I wanted to double check with you vets before calling and confirming what they have noted for room preference.

I hope the sun is shining brightly :sunny: where ever you are today. Thanks, WL Vets!!!

Not all 7th floors rooms can view MK as they ring the lobby. 7060 reports having a great view of MK. If you do not get a room where you can see the FW, you can go to the 5th or 6th floor of the north wing where building “A” & “B” intersect. There is a large hall window there and you get a great view of the Castle and FW.

.......can you see any part of Fort Wilderness from any of the rooms on the upper levels at WL? Thanks!:wave2:

SpeechGuy,

Good question. I researched this very question myself a few months ago.

You can see parts of FW. I booked a suite at WL because my DH is doing the Florida Half Ironman in May and it is at FW. I wanted to be able to see some of the action from WL.

The information I received from the WL staff and others at Disney was that the view of FW is better from the North wing. I think a room high up, inner courtyard on the North wing would be good. I also think you may be able to see some of FW from the Deluxe rooms that sit at the end of the wings at WL-from a high floor, of course.

I hope someone has some more info and can answer your question a little better. :sunny:

Thanks for the info, floridafam. I didn't know which direction the outside of your room would have to face to see FW. I thought it might be from the south wings facing out towards the villas. But I guess I was wrong on that one.

By the way...I checked out your profile and found that we are neighbors. We reside in Okemos, MI. Nice to know there is another Disney family in the area!:wave2:

Hi neighbor. I spend a lot of time in Okemos!

You may be able to see some of FW from the South wing rooms facing the villas. I'm sure you would have to be pretty high up to do that.

Are you planning a trip to WL?

The concierge staff up on the 7th floor said they could see parts of FW from the Yosemite Suite on the 7th floor-this room is in the North wing.

The view from some of the concierge rooms and rooms on other floors may not be good if the rooms are located back near the lobby.

floridafam.....and I/we spend considerable time enjoying the EL shops and campus!

Our family will be at WDW and the WL this December. It will be our first Disney resort stay. My son, who is 13 wanted to stay at the Contemporary in the worst way. We visited it on our last trip and he liked having the monorail run through the resort. My wife and daughter (age 11) voted for WL. I was going back and forth between the Beach Club and the Lodge. I thought the kids might enjoy the pool at BC. But considering the time of year, we may not be doing much swimming anyway. I know the theming at WL is something to behold, especially at Christmas. My only other concern was the size of the room, but my wife assures me we will be fine, especially since we will be driving down and can store many things in our van. We've requested a room in the "bear face" part of the Lodge that overlooks the courtyard and opens to the lobby.

Thanks for your input. If you have any tips or recommendations for our drive down (places to stop and things to see) let me know.

Thanks!:wave2:

We drive down at least twice a year.

My best suggestion-Portable DVD Player! (or one in your vehicle)

You will love WL! The theming is wonderful.

We always stop at different places. When we are going to Vero Beach we take 75 and then cut through N. Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Unfortunately, when we head straight for WDW, we take 75-YUCK!

We always stop at a Hampton Inn about 1/2 way somewhere because we know they are usually clean and we can eat a little breakfast before the rest of the drive on the second day.

On our last trip, we ended up stopping at Pilot Travel Centers frequently. We could get gas, Subway and use a nice, ALWAYS clean restroom.

On our way back into Michigan, we always get off the highway at exit 110 in Okemos and stop at Dunkin Donuts for milk, juice and donuts for the next day (because it's always late at night and our fridge is empty from being gone.)

HAVE FUN!

I understand complete about the I-75 boredom express. Our last trip had us heading down 69 to 65 around Indianapolis. That was nice. We made a side trip into Memphis and took in a couple of sights. We haven't done the Carolina corridor yet. Our plan is to have AAA get us there in one direction and back again in a different direction. Thanks for the food and rest stop tips. I remember a few years ago there were a number of Stuckey stores along the major highways going south. They always had good snacks and clean rest rooms. Now it seems a little harder to find a clean and reliable stop.

We will enjoy the Lodge and will look into a portable DVD player. Thanks again.

Hi everyone, does anybody know if Disney still offers the discount for booking a room for your next visit when you are staying at one of the resorts. We are taking a short visit in the end of April and returning for a week at WL in November. We were wondering if the discount was still offered, how much it is and do you have to be staying at the same hotel. Thanks everyone, we have been off for a while and its nice to be back!!

Hi all!

We will be arriving at WL on May 15th. I have a quick question about the coffeemakers we can request from mousekeeping.

What size are they? How much coffee do they make? I would like a good cup of coffee in the morning and was going to bring some filterpacks. Will they work in the WL's coffeemakers?

Thanks in advance.

All rooms have the coffee maker in them and they are 4 cup size I believe. I think they give you filter packs for use in the makers there so it should not be a problem. I have also had mousekeeping deliver free coffee refills when I asked so keep that in mind.

P.S. We are arriving at the Polynesian on May 15th. :) I plan to stop at WL on the 17th as of right now. Keep your eyes peeled. :)

Im so pumped up, im leaving for disneyworld in alittle over a week. I am staying at the wilderness lodge. I have been looking at stuff for about 3 months straight. Ive been to disneyland and california adventure over 30 times. By the way i heard the Tower of terror in DCA is better than the orlando one. I was wondering if anyone had any last minute links i go could go to for tips and just overall about the hotel and park. This is my first trip to orlando so im trying to be as educated as possible. Also does anyone have any pics or know of any websites for the Oak Trail golf course, its the 9 hole one. O and also how did everyone like the wilderness lodge.
