Word about upgrades.
During our trip in August 2003, I asked about upgrading to Concierge. We had a standard room booked and the price we were quoted to upgrade was $70. So the amount it will cost you to upgrade to Concierge I believe depends on the room type you have booked orginally. I was hoping the price would be $40-50 a night more, as I had read about on the board.
$70 was too steep for me.
We were pleasantly surprised though when we got to our room and found that we were given a free upgrade from standard to courtyard view!

We were given a free upgrade from a Woodsview to a Pool view, which was cool imo, I asked about how much and I got the response that well we have available rooms so there will be no charge. I guess it pays sometimes to go during the offseason.

Okay, I have another question... (can you tell I am excited since I just booked??) Any tips fo getting to be Flag family? My DH would just LOVE it and we missed out last August.

Thanks Betsy, Last year when I looked into this, the 5 people did not have to be in the same room. Just someone booked it and gave the names of the other 4 people. I wonder if they even have to be at the same resort. We are traveling with some friends and they have 7 people (5 kids) so they are staying at ASSp. This way we could split the cost.

This is one of the questions I plan on finding out in a few weeks when I go to WDW. Also will verify the smoking rooms and information about king size beds. I have a list so if anyone has a question we Vets aren't 100% about we can get the 411 on it.

This rumor started after your stay....so I'll double check.
I just pulled out my "Wilderness Adventures" sheet from Feb 2004...it says "Family Plan - Length of Stay ( Weekly rate for use of Equipment ) $239.00 + tax ( up to 5 guests )
That is a price increase from my September trip

Mackie's Mommy,

 The best way is to check on availability at check-in they maybe able to tell you then. If they can't they will put your name on a list to be called if available.

Everyone have a magical day.:earsboy:

Regarding the boat and bike plan:

FWIW, Marilyn at the Iitinerary Planning Office for WL said she called over to WL Concierge and they told her the plan was discontinued a short time ago.

floridafam,

Thanks for checking on that, I only hope that they soon offer something equal to the plans. Maybe they will come out with a new offer. :earsboy:

Can anyone tell me if they have nitelights that you can use at the WL- or do you have to bring your own. I think DD may get a little scared in a "dark and different" room at night!

Thanks!!!

There were none in our room. I don't know if housekeeping has any. You'd probably be better off just bringing one of your own. They are pretty small, so they'd be easy to throw in.

On a side note, you all know about my "Who's Going" database right? Click the link in my signature. It let's you enter your dates and see who is going when you are. It's been pretty popular so far. We have close to 800 entries in the database. You can even edit and remove your dates with a password.

There were none in our room. I don't think I have ever stayed in a hotel that had one. I have one in DD's toiletry kit so it is always with us when we travel. You could also leave the light on in the bathroom and close the door a bit to give you some light in the room.

Have a great trip!

Aren't there little bulbs attached to the hairdryers that light up when the room lights are off? We were there in December and if I'm remembering correctly it helped us orient ourselves in the middle of the night! Anyone else remember?

I just called the lodge to check out my memory--and I guess I'm remembering somewhere else. The lady I spoke with doesn't think they exist there! So I'm sorry!

But I called my husband who usually gets up every night and he remembers the light as a part of the hair dryers.

We will typically turn the bathroom light on and close the door almost all the way. It's not the best but it works and my wife and daughter can find the facilities in the middle of the night.

Your post is so funny, I started to post the same thing I'm almost 100% sure that the bottom of the hair dryer has a light that was plenty of light for us to use, and move around with, but thought a small child that is use to a nightlight may not think it was bright enough, so I didn't post.

Two great minds can't be wrong.

I was just going to suggest taking your own night light.

Those beds are AWFUL on toes and legs in the middle of the night!

floridafam,

Boy, don't you know it, we need to take a poll on how many people have broken at lest one toe per visit. We could call it, "How many people have done the WL, I have broken my toe dance around the room?".::yes::

Too funny!!
We have stayed at WL three times now and we ALWAYS manage to stump a toe on the foot of the bed. You would think by now, we would have learned our lesson!!

:hyper:

Never stubbed a toe...but we usually get bunks! If I'm not mistaken, the bunks do not have so much wood along the bottom! That only leaves 1 queen bed to worry about.
