Hey everyone! Sorry I have been 'hiding' since our return from the World! Since we have returned home I have started a new job (nights at the hospital  ) AND...found our that we have a new 'mouskateer' on the way! As a reminder...my 'baby' turned 8 on our trip! Thought we had picked up a 'souvenier', but it seems like this little one actually made his/her first trip to World already!

We had an awesome time...and loved the Lodge!! I wish we were planning another trip.

Wow! Congratulations! My DS's were 8 and 9 when DD was born and it's great! They are terrific big brothers and help out a lot!

CONRATULATIONS PEWING!!!

Seems like there are alot of babies happening! Best of Luck.

Another round of congratulations is in order! Hope it is a healthy happy baby! We too had our little one(now 2) when DDs were 8 & 9! They are so helpful at that age!

Okay, a few WL questions.

We have been there before so we know a lot but here's a few questions.

Let's say we end up with a service area view from the 7th floor in May. Is it noisy? How noisy? Something that is going to keep us awake at night?

What is the room on the 6th floor with the unique balcony that sits right below the Yellowstone Suite? Does anyone know? I looked at the balcony picks in Majestic's photo link. I keep seeing this balcony. Is that just a standard room or something different?

Does anyone know how many connecting rooms there are on the concierge floor?

Lastly, if I start a thread that says we have switched back to the Yellowstone Suite, just slap me.:teeth:

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone tell me if there is a bus between the Wilderness Lodge and the Wilderness Campground? We will be staying at WL and plan to eat in the evening at Pioneer Hall and maybe go on a hayride or go to the campfire and movie before returning. I know there is a boat. If the only transportation is the boat, how late does it run?

In 02 we took the bus back to the WL after the late Hoop De Doo show so I know it runs late

7th floor is concierge level!...and being up that high, you will not hear noise from the service trucks! I have stayed in a standard 5th floor room, and I didn't hear noise from down below!

I don't know about connecting rooms on that floor!

I believe that Disney has a policy that only 1 discount can be used at a time. As for the upgrades, when you check into your resort, you can inquire if you can "upgrade" (meaning a better view or room). Generally, you'll pay a bit less than if you had booked it orginally. On a small number of occasions, the "upgrade" is complementary. For instance, if you have a courtyard room, and want concierge, the "upgrade" cost per night was $35 when I was there last Sept. By doing this, you run the risk of your desired room not being available.

Enjoy your stay!

Hello All, this thread is so informative but it's information overload for me!

If I want a view of the castle do I book a "woods" view or a "courtyard" view or do both of these offer opportunities to see the castle?

Approximately how many rooms face the castle and how good would you guess my chances were of getting what I want.

I saw the balcony view from room 5032 from a WL vet's site, ohmigosh I thought I'd died and gone to heaven right there! Would most of the balconies have a view that good?

Thanks to all who can help!

Brenda

Question:

When we upgraded our woods view room to concierge we were told that even if the 7th floor is booked solid they can add concierge to any room. Is that true?

Thanks

The courtyard view come in 2 "flavors". Most of the rooms overlook the main pool area. I doubt you'd be able to see the castle here. Some of the rooms (like the one I had) overlook the Villa's and the quiet pool.

To see the castle, I'm pretty sure you need a "woods" view.

Your chances, I really don't know. I don't know how many rooms are in that area.

Good luck! Personally, I don't think there's a "bad" view in the bunch!

I have heard of people staying on other floors with concierge access. However, I'm pretty sure they limit the number of rooms with concierge access.

If it's "frosting", you can take it or leave it, go ahead and wait till you arrive to book. However, if you will feel bad if concierge is full and you can't get it, I'd book it now.
