Thank you MAGICinMYHEART. I've been on here all weekend reading the WL FAQ threads, and i have copied and pasted all of the great tips that everyone has posted. The more i read the more excited i get about this trip. I love the picture of the view of the castle and monorail from room 5032, cross your fingers for us that we can get one of the rooms with that view.

Anyone know if you can buy into DVC for wilderness lodge?

Sorry, but I believe this one is completely sold out. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Technically, VWL is sold out. You can still buy points via resale. Check over on the DVC board. You should be able to get all of your questions answered. We are using www.dvcbyresale.com
to sell our VWL contract.

We purchased pts at VWL but, in all honesty, our kids like the main lodge better. We own at VWL yet we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge in May. You can't use your Villas at Wilderness Lodge points in the main lodge.

The villas are huge, very nice and very quiet.

Hope this helps!

Bummer would love to purchase a DVC at the Wilderness Lodge.

Oh well. Hopefully Disney will throw out some deals like that did last year so we can go back and stay longer =P

When I booked our WL stay, I initially asked for North Wing, 4th or 5th floor, bunk room, NSmoking.
We have a courtyard view room.

Now I am wondering if I should simply request, upper floor, inner courtyard ?
Is there a big difference between the North wing and South wing inner courtyard view wise?
Or should I leave things alone????

I am planning on calling WDTC this afternoon. I also need to ask them why I haven't received a confirmation for the one night room only ressie we have, it is paid in full.

By the way, it was hard to find this thread. I finally found it up in the resort FAQ folder.I miss the days when this thread was so active
:(

TooBoyz4us,

Okay, here's some info. Someone correct me if I am wrong. We have had a courtyard view before. I prefer the South Wing.

Parts of the North Wing are smoking rooms. I believe it is the 6th floor. If it is going to bother you to share a hallway with smoking rooms or have someone smoking above you on their balcony then I would go with the South wing.

Tell them you want INNER COURTYARD or they may put you in a room that overlooks the villas-I have no idea why they consider these courtyard view rooms.

I hope this helps. Someone please correct my information if it is wrong. :sunny:

Can someone tell me if the boats run early enough to get to early entry at MK. Thanks ;)

Yes they do. The boats to the MK start about 30 minutes before Early Magic Hour. Another option is to take the boat to the CR (I think that starts running at 7) and then hop on the monorail to the MK.

Have a great trip!

WL ZIPADEE DO DAH TIP FOR THE DAY:

Turndown service is not just for the 7th Floor....Call "Lodgekeeping" and ask for turndown while you are at dinner. It is nice to come back to fresh towels, fluffed pillows and CHOCOLATE!!

Just read on another thread that the unlimited boat access plan is no longer offered at WL, can anyone verify this?

what does that mean? is this for the boats that run to the MK?
anyone? anyone?

I just pulled out my "Wilderness Adventures" sheet from Feb 2004...it says "Family Plan - Length of Stay ( Weekly rate for use of Equipment ) $239.00 + tax ( up to 5 guests )

No, this is to rent those little water mice, etc.

Word about upgrades.
During our trip in August 2003, I asked about upgrading to Concierge. We had a standard room booked and the price we were quoted to upgrade was $70. So the amount it will cost you to upgrade to Concierge I believe depends on the room type you have booked orginally. I was hoping the price would be $40-50 a night more, as I had read about on the board.
$70 was too steep for me.
We were pleasantly surprised though when we got to our room and found that we were given a free upgrade from standard to courtyard view!

Thanks Betsy, Last year when I looked into this, the 5 people did not have to be in the same room. Just someone booked it and gave the names of the other 4 people. I wonder if they even have to be at the same resort. We are traveling with some friends and they have 7 people (5 kids) so they are staying at ASSp. This way we could split the cost.

Okay, I just booked WL for 7/31 to 8/7 and was told something strange. I asked for a non-smoking room and the CM told me that all the rooms were non-smoking. I had not heard this and did make her note it on the reservation. Anyone else hear this recently?
