MM registration..

So you made it in by entering membership number, got a wait time and then got sent to the registration page where you entered membership number again and then were told invalid reservation, then booted?
Yes. I have the screenshots with the timestamp of when I entered the que and was able to register and then it said something along the lines of this spot isnt valid and booted me. It told me to get a spot in the back of the que around 11:07. I was shocked how fast the que was moving and was so excited. Im glad they are trying to fix it for atleast a few, its so disappointing to see your in and then.....your out, lol

Okay good job on the screenshots! I would call
MS.

I can see a way around this (I have a devious mind) and it wouldn't take much for someone to figure out how to do it.
Yeah there could be likely a workaround but is using a workaround worth getting Joe Blow from a random FB group into MM? Probably not. Right now people do it because it’s easy and they get internet points for being cool and helping get people in for free.

that's exactly what happened to me. Definitely call MS. Just be prepared for them to keep putting you on hold and then coming back to ask more questions about what the screen said, and what you did. It was almost like they were trying to catch me in a lie. And then they won't send you an email, but maybe later-I was told.

You think that they do it for internet attaboys? Yeah, there are some who do. There are also some people do it for money 💰. A few years ago, I was in a DVC FB group and I needed 2 tickets for a MM because a family member in the Orlando area wanted to join us and I didn't have enough tickets. I got several DMs from people willing to help...for a price. It happens.

Even worse :(

Did you check to see if you got the email?

Did you see something like this around the time the pause started?

I think this is how they were able to re-qualify me. It shows the time I arrived to the queue and the time it was my turn (which is when I put in our Member# a second time but system would not recognize).

This note also told me to click the button below to get back in the queue, but there was no button.

When the queue reopened after the pause, it told me 15 minute wait. So I ended up at back of queue. Still waited to get in and try but by then a message already posted that HS event was full. Once my second term came, no slots were left.

A little over 2 hours later we received an email saying MS “will be proactively registering you and your party for the event date that aligns with your qualifying stay.”

I’m not sure the method they’re using to determine impacted accounts for review but possibly could include yours.

That’s kind of ridiculous

It is restricted to people who use the DVC on this date, is your complaint that people who can drive should not be allowed to go?
No- they have a first date with only partial tickets available, then they open it to people not staying those nights. They shouldn't be offering to people not staying on DVC at all. Even if not everyone can go, everyone that CAN go should be staying on DVC points.

That is exactly what happened to me! Our times are very very close--looks like we were in the "lucky" group today :)
I also did not have a spot to click to re enter the que and by the time I did, it was way too late.
I did not get an email, but did call MS, it was an hour call but I did not feel questioned to the third degree, she was very nice. She put me on hold and came back to ask what the screen shot said. I read it including the time stamps and she said they were working on it and to check my email. I still have not received anything but honestly feel good they are trying to make it right and owning what happened. I do understand its a random process and that someone is always going to be disappointed and was happy they wanted to listen to me.

Sadly, I have a similar story. My kids cant always plan their schedule that far out so we've had a few times that we were also short tickets at the last minute and had multiple responses on social media asking for payment. My daugher not so kindly let them know that what they were doing was not legal :)

I think they’ll eventually have to find some way to further limit MM. Just too many reports of people who try and try but can’t seem to snag a spot.

You can’t sell it as a perk of direct points if it’s mostly theoretical.

This sounds like another pay wall thing. Pay MMB and get priority access to moonlight magic.

It appears DVC is doing the right thing with the early people who got kicked out.

Disney is really good at taking care of it's customers

Another thing that has been mentioned, only names that are on your room get tickets. You can still modify who is in your room but if they are not listed on your reservation then they are not going to be let in.

Just like any disney ticket, associated with a person's account. Technology should already be there

Did you report these people?

Report them, hope they get banned from future MM events

Yeah, I mean I'm sure they could go that way. I feel like that would be one of the worst solutions they could implement, but I'm sure that wouldn't stop them from doing it.

I think the first step should be eliminating general registration - or, no general registration unless there are actually spaces left after everyone with a qualifying room reservation has had a chance to get a ticket (I think we're not really sure how many spots they hold back for general registration). I happened to score a general registration last summer for Epcot while I was renting points, but I see no reason why I should have gotten to go over a member who was actually using their points for a stay.

If that doesn't alleviate the supply/demand imbalance enough, then they gotta find a way to limit things further. Limit it to those actually on a resort reservation - as others said, not hard to do, they already do it for plenty of other things. Limit it to stays booked on direct points. Limit it to one MM event per calendar year instead of one per season.

Of course, they could do more MM magic events, but that costs money, so I wouldn't hold my breath for that.

It seems like there are plenty of ways they can improve this. One would think they eventually will. But, until then, the hunger games it shall be.
