Don't even bother. Wait till you check in and deal with it then. My parents have done this numerous times. The room is yours with 2, 3, or even 4 adults. Doesn't need to involve the CRO.

Hope this helps. You seem to be a very enthusiastic newcomer to our family! Have fun with the planning. ::yes::

How do I call CRO and explain this to them? I don't want to pay $25 every night when she'll only be staying for 4. Please give me some advice. . .:chat:

I'm glad you asked that question AESALSA and thanks for the advice MAJESTIC I'm in a similar quandry because my oldest DS may or may not be joining us in November, I just don't know yet. So in making reservations I was wondering whether or not to include him or just wait until we check in if he comes along. Yes?????

Hello All...

We will be staying at WL for the first time for 12 nights starting June 14th.

My questions are

1. Where are the "bunk bed" rooms located? (we reserved a woods view)

2. Does WL have rooms with trundle beds?

3. Would you recomend the "bunk bed" rooms?

Thanks for your help

We stayed in room 7042 last Sept and it had a bunkbed. This is a woods view.
There is 4 of us 2 adults and 2 kids 4,5.

We loved the bunkbeds!! I think it gives extra space in the rooms

Hope this helps!!

Yesterday I received 3 mailings from Disney! One was my confirmation letter for our October trip--all the info was correct on it; I like how the letter was personalized with points of interest at WL and driving directions. I also received "special trip planning information" in a neat packet sealed in gold. It includes maps of WDW and its parks, vacation planning checklist, and a very personalized brochure--I already knew the info in the brochure, but it's so nice getting it :p ! And finally I received a postcard inviting me to complete an online survey of WDW Resort--I haven't taken it yet.

Has anyone else here ever received one of these survey postcards?

I'm giving DH a break from listening to all this Disney stuff (I'm going to try to make it a week ;) ), so I'm going on about it to y'all.

Have a wonderful day!

I got a survey postcard after our August 2003 trip.
The online survey was very long and detailed and asked all about my WL experiences.
I was hoping I would receive a special rate postcard or something as a result of taking the survey, but so far nothing yet :(

Beautiful picture, thanks for sharing!

Love your tag! I take it you worked at WDW for a time? Can you let us in on any "dirty little secrets"? You must be privy to some great gossip! ;)

Missed the DIS meet on this past Sat. at the WL because of getting ready for the triathlon...but I was thinking about y'all!!

Loved the WL...got upgraded from a woods view to courtyard view for free...don't know if that was such a great deal...asked about rooms on the north wing, and all they said were available were "smoking-optional", so I stuck with the courtyard view (overlooking the pool for the villas).

Nice room. Only "issue" for me was that we were near the end of the hallway away from the lobby...too much walking back and forth to get to the lobbies/elevators. Other than that, it was fine.

Good luck lasting a week aesalsa! I try hard to give my DH a break from my Disney talk, planning, scheming etc.Its so hard!!I guess thats why I am so addicted to these boards. I can read and write Disney all I want with not a soul thinking I am fanatical:crazy:

I hear ya! We can't all be sitting in the same room without me starting on dis-talk! DH and DSs don't get too aggrivated, or should I say they don't show it, but I they start to "drift away" after about 10 minutes.........
But I can't help it, which is why I also have to get on here where I'm accepted as normal!

I don't know about gosssip or secrets, but I did enjoy opening WL. It's been 10 yrs. and doesn't feel like it. I worked at the WL for a year - a CM in WCC. Back then it was magic. I remember all of the activities prior to the opening of the hotel. In WCC, we all were allowed to pick our name tags (character names) and then began to develop the characters ourselves. It was sort of a new concept then. We spent DAYS working up skit ideas for dinner. It was not long until the stick horses were brought in. There was a time when we were allowed cap guns. Then we were only allowed water guns. Word got around that if you had a bigger squirt gun, diinner would be more fun. However, a busboy slipped and hurt himself (& a lot of dishes) and water guns were no more. I started the waving of the napkins above one's head.

Empowerment was a BIG hotel philosophy. We were told to solve our own guest service problems the way we saw fit. I also remember we printed party's (gang's) last name on the menu. I learned a lot about computers and printers that way.

I saw many famous people in WCC - most memorable - Sidney Poitier. He was the most wonderful, considerate guest/celeb I'd ever encountered. He did not use his status to get a table for his beautiful daughters. I wanted so badly to say, "Look who's come to dinner!" but we were forbidden to acknowledge famous guests. When the guy from CHEERS - George Wendt? came in for a private dinner, we were briefed and threatened NOT to yell NORM. Vannah White came in for dessert and she was so nice!

At the start, you didn't dare call a housekeeper anything except a LODGEKEEPER.

The changing rooms are near the smokehouse side of the hotel and your costume would arrive on a hanging conveyerbelt by swiping your ID - new at the time. There was also a cafeteria down there for CMS and quite good!

I have other memories and stories. Things have probably changed since the 1st yr., but WL is truly a magnificant hotel. I'd be happy to try to answer questions if possible.

mrslane, it sounds like you had a magical time working at WCC! I just read the whole post to my DH, who is, I'm sure, getting weary from all the Disney talk! Once we set a date, I can't shut up! It's all I can think about. I didn't make my WL reservations because my sister and I want to do it together this weekend when she comes to visit. We have plans to go to WCC for our first dinner after we check in. I HOPE we can get a good room rate, which is the only thing that will make it possible for another stay at WL. Let me ask you something? When we are in Disney, we always think it would be so much more pleasant going to work everyday. Does it really make a difference? Is it easier going to work in the "happiest place on earth"?

mrslane- thanks for sharing!!! What a cool thing to be a part of the WL when it first opened!

tig-girl, tooboyz, aesalsa- I'm right there with you on the Dis planning and talking- except my DH has no interest in anything Disney so I'm lucky I have you guys and DD!! DD (age 7) is my WDW partner, I'm in the process of planning our second trip together as a surprise in early December. Unfortunately, the surprise part means I can't discuss plans with her. Thank goodness for these boards!!

Have fun all!!

My DH will listen--but he won't go! He thinks he's too cynical to enjoy himself and ruin our time. I think he may be right! On the other hand, he enjoys that we're excited about it and doesn't get on me about how much it costs. I can't wait to go to WL!

One question as well:

How early has anyone managed to get into their room at WL?

mrslane

Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful memories with us!! Yes, we all "waved our napkins" during our dinner last Sept! Your *tradition* lives on!

Can you answer the long puzzeled question that plagues so many of us on the DIS? Why did the swimming stop in the lakes? So many "theories" abound... ;)

Thanks for sharing some "inside info" with us....I still believe that this thread is the BEST on the DIS (Of course, I MAY be a little partial to our "baby"!). Fred, I didn't get to read any of your trip reports....could ya provide a link?

I probably won't be on the DIS this weekend, so let me wish everyone a Happy and SAFE Memorial Day weekend, the "UN"official beginning of the summer!:wave2:

Oh I'm so with you guys about partners zoning out once we make plans. My DH just smiles and let's me ramble on. Though as we get closer he does get excited.

Thanks for the memories Mrslane, keep them coming it's so interesting since so many of us want to retire to WDW!

Thanks for sharing mrslane, I was also there the year WL opened, but as a guest. I too can't believe it has been 10 years. I remember going to WCC that year and getting what is now known as the Skillet. And I still have our menu with our name printed on it!:D
