I had a courtyard view on our last trip, and I honestly don't know where the "noise rumor" got started! I'm one of those people that doesnt sleep well if I'm not in my own bed, and I'm here to tell you that I didn't hear a peep. We were also lobby view, by request, and again, no noise that I can remember being disruptive. I don't know, maybe I was so tired from doing the parks.............;)

on the one night ressie refund of difference.......I'm not sure, but I think they'd probably do a refund of full amount and recharge your cc with the new amount. Vets???

Mrs. J! Nice to hear from you! :wave2:

Originally, I really wanted woods view..............but when I called to book last week, the CM said no woods view available.
Now, WDW website shows that there is woods view available. But I don't know what to do........
Some say woods view are darker and quieter. Are the courtyard views noisy even at night? And do the outside lights from the courtyard area spill into your room at night?
One more question:D
I booked one night room only, and the other 5 nights with a package.I had to make two deposits, with the room only needing to be paid in full.
If I called to change it to woods view, how would the difference be refunded to me?Would they just credit my CC back?

If the website shows that there are wood view rooms available you should have been able to book that view. I would call back there are a lot of new CM's working...First request I put in gave me a standard room, next courtyard view there isn't anyway I can select my own view...

When I stayed in September and November I was upgraded to Inner Courtyard View and I didn't hear anything at night after I closed the balcony door. With the drapes closed no light comes into the rooms.

The two deposits would be correct...if you change your reservations the difference would be credited to your credit card if that is what you would like or credited to your room and any purchases would then be deducted from your balance.

Good luck.

Dallas_Lady,

Good for you...You will love The Lodge at Christmas time...Last year they had sleigh rides you could reserve everyone loved them.

We had a courtyard view and LOVED it. Lots to look :earseek: at, not just trees. The curtains on the window block out ALL of the lights from the pool. The only noise we ever heard was the Electric Water Pagent. That did get alittle loud and if your not expecting it, it will startle you (did me on our first night). It runs by, I think, at 9:50 every night. We could see it from our balcony ::yes::
The main thing is to HAVE FUN and think about all of us here that would love to be in your shoes, no matter how much walking they do.

WL Zippadee Do Dah Tip for the Day:

Enjoy the rip roaring good time to be had in the Whispering Canyon Cafe..It can be as fun as you make it!! Ask for a bigger straw, another fork, KETCHUP or just wear a Universal Studios hat!! Early breakfasts are quieter ( if you like that sorta thing ) ...The best part of WCC, it is right in your Lobby!!!

I'm new to the WL and looking forward to staying there in May.
My DH and I are celebrating our 15th anniversary, (without our DDs) and we would like a king size bed.
The CM told me I must reserve a Woods view to have a better chance at a king bed, so I did.
So, does anyone know which rooms have king beds and are some views better than others?
THanks for all your help!!

Hi,
There are 2 types of courtyard rooms, inner which overlook the main pool and outer which overlook the quiet pool & villas.

If you are at all concerned abt noise, I'd suggest you suggest asking for an outer courtyard view.

We had the outer courtyard view during our Sept stay. It is lovely. The quiet pool is just that, nice & quiet. The view is lovely.

The only real "noise" we heard was the music from the EWP. It wasn't bothersome, just kind of a reminder "hey, get your butts out of bed & come see me!".

Most people request the inner courtyard rooms. So, if you add "outer" to your request, I don't think you will have a problem getting it.

PS: I have a balacony picture on my link below.

Okay, troops, my 2-in-c (second-in-command for all you 'lay people' [minds out of the gutters please!:teeth: ]...::yes:: )AC, has begun our 4th installment of our beloved WL FAQ thread. I'm liking VERY much what I have been reading (DisneyDmbNut, as usual, well done on your wether reports!). Hopefully, Fred'll be around to join us and get us started on a NEW AND IMPROVED WL MEMORIES BOX. Ratpack, although not all rooms on the 6th floor are smoking, you may just wanna steer clear of that floor altogether...

 I'm here! Sorry I haven't posted but everyone is doing such a fabulous job of keeping the FAQ going that I haven't had to post.

The Zippidee Do Dah tips are a great vibe on the FAQ thread...good job.

I'd like to add that we never experienced a noise problem at the lodge....anywhere. And it was completely booked while we were there.

We stayed at WL in Dec 2002 in room 6012 and absolutely loved that location. We had a wonderful view of the castle and fireworks. From what I've read here, it sounds like rooms in this section are now smoking. Is that correct? If so, I am very disappointed because we hoped to get a room as close to our old one as possible next time. And while I understand that not all the rooms are smoking, my husband has asthma that is triggered by cigarette smoke, so we don't even want to be in the same section as smoking rooms. It would be lousy to have a great view like that but not be able to use the balcony because the next room over is a smoking room.

Anyway, my questions are: Are there now smoking rooms in this section of the 6th floor? If so, how about the 5th floor in the same section?

Thanks!

Kaycee, at the present time, all of 5th floor is Non-smoking!

Disneydill,Rooms 4073 & 5073 are courtyard view rooms off the lobby that face the water. These rooms have King beds, but are considered courtyard view rooms.

Thanks, AspiringCindy!! I appreciate your quick response!

Does anyone else know about rooms with king beds and their views (we have a woods view reserved)?

As always, thanks for your help!

for those of you who had the paper Disney hopper tickets...
how did you keep them protected during the day in the parks? Do they have some sort of plastic sleeve that you can purchase?
thanks!

They now sell the Lanyards that have the plastic sleeve that zips!! Very nice

I purchaed some CM laynards from Disney on Ebay..thay have the plastic ID holders...I put my tickets, room keys and fast passes in it...GREAT! They are nice and I have one that says "Disney Team" and Stitch on it..

Hey guys!
Just wanted to get a part of the new WL thread part 4.
Wish I was going back to the Lodge some time soon, but finances prevent that.
Been to WL 3 times, and am happy to answer any questions.

They are at the parks and WL...They are blue with a clear puch and plastic zip top pouch

My sister bought the same thing at Walmart, but I don't even know where they would be located in the store..she said they were .99 and attached to they lanyard.

Hi all! Just wanted to mark my spot here on the new Part 4!!

I love the Tip for Today!!!

OK I did it! I held my nose and jumped in-I'm booked for the WL from 9/3 to 9/8. I booked a standard room with a AAA rate of $943.00 including tax. I'm hoping AP rates come out to drop it down and then I might upgrade to concierge. DH wants to keep the standard view room and hope for a comp upgrade at checkin, but I'm not too sure about that.

Yay!! I'm so excited now!

keriannhoward,

I'm so glad you desided on WL I love the Resort and I'm sure your husband will also. (he may have to fold the stroller a few times). Last Septemebr I used Florida Residents Special Room Code and paid $109.00...with tax I believe it was $121.54 a night for Standard View at check-in was upgraded to Inner Courtyard View had a great room.

We are neighbors I live in Orange Park.
