So here it is... My "good-bye" post. Not really a goodbye, cause I am still going to follow you guys if you don't mind. But we are going to have to cancel -for now. No way around it. Yesterday topped it all of and sealed our fate. Someone backed into my car at soccer and LEFT! No note, nothing. And for someone reason, after having a $250 deductible with Progressive for the last 6 years, we find out that when they transferred my insurance to the new van in Aug, they also raised my deductible to $500. Not sure why. They have no reason for it either. But it is what it is.

We have other options to go to WDW and stay off property. A friend offered her timeshare for free, if we go to the hour class. My stepdad and his siblings own a house in Sanford that no one is living in. They offered us that to stay in. And it would be free. But right now, it seems like to many things are hitting us at once. And while it seems like we could afford to go, we can't be that irresponsible. Even if we want to be. Because anything -could- happen. And we need our rainy day fund. Disney isn't going anywhere. So, it doesn't kill us to cancel. If this had been a once in a lifetime dream trip, then I might be a bit more upset. But its not, and I am not. But sometimes being a responsible adult sucks! LOL

I haven't had a chance to catch up, but it seems like from this last page that I am not the only one who is having problems. Shelia, I am sorry you are getting hit with the bad luck too. I hope it works out for you somehow. And for the things I have yet to read, I promise to say a prayer for each of you. Hopefully this will be the last of the bad things to happen to our group!

So sorry to hear you have to cancel, it really stinks! Shiela- I hope you don't have to cancel too.
I went online to check my ADR's 2 nights ago and half of mine were gone. I called and waited on hold a long time, and was told they are having issues but they still had all of my ADR's in their system. I asked for my resevrvation #'s because I hadn't written them down. But when I tried to pull them up with the #'s they still couldn't be found. But they told me all is well, and Disney still has everything in their system.

Well, I have some trip plannig news. This is completely uncharacteristic for me, but we have switched our resort to POFQ. The more iread abotu the bus ervice at CBR, the more nervous I got about it. We normally stay at CSR, but it has been booked solid for our week since we booked our tirp. I think we will be happier at POFQ.

Thank You everyone for the well wishes but we decided after much going back and forth to cancel and just try to reschedule in 2011. DS and Ddil decided to pull out so DH and I went over all our options with staying at a value or mod but we decided we probally would not be that happy and I know he was going to be worrying about the spending $$$. The boiler is going to run us between $2000-$2500 It would not be so bad except a couple of months ago we had to replace the bladder on the well pump and then DH ended up having to put $1500 into his car begining of summer.

Jessica- that is just awful that someone hit you and did not leave their name and number, that saying about when it rains it pours is so true. I also hope this is the end of the bad luck for the November travelers

I will keep an eye on this thread too, if I left I would probally go into Disney Withdrawals

On the ADR thing: I called to check on mine when 3 of 9 showed up. They were all there. The system update on the 19th is supposed to fix it so that they will show online.

Oh no.. I am so sorry you're going to have to cancel.. and the other lady too. My DH and I call that Sky Lab. Remember in the 70's everyone was worried about skylab falling on them out of the sky and the NASA scientist would give the odds of getting hit by a piece of sky lab being astronomical. Anyway, when all these things hit at once we call it our skylab falling. So sorry skylab fell on you!

I am now worried about this whole ADR thing. I only have 2 ADR's for our Thanksgiving week trip and I have the confirmation numbers written down. I never usually check the online system. I prefer to talk to dining on the phone. Anyway, last night, my BIL said that he'd really like it if I could get us table service reservations for dinner since they like to have a nice sit-down dinner. My DH is a quick-service kind of guy. He doesn't like being tied down to ADR's. But I told DH that we'd promised to do our vacation my sister and BIL's way this time because it is our 3rd trip this year and... well.. why not try it another way. They're early risers and would prefer to do rope drop, enjoy the park, afternoon pool and dinner at a resort ... so that's what I'm going to try to do. I'll try to focus on resort ADR's so we can explore the resort and look at holiday decorations afterwards. I do want to see what we can get in EPCOT though. I am sure we'll never get the holy grail, I mean Le Cellier but I can try. I don't want to try the new Hacienda. I didn't like the menu. Maybe the Biergarten? We shall see.. but I"m gonna probably call and not try online. I'm chicken.

I'm soo sorry to hear about all the things going on. Px4 = having your vehicle damaged w/o some one leaving a note sux. We've left notes in the past and have had to pay a few hundred here and there. But no-one ever leaves it for us and guess what .. we have to pay for those too. UGH ... well I hope that y'all can figure out a way to visit sometime soon.

SJS ... wow ... sorry to hear about the boiler, but w/living in Canada I can certainly understand the necessity for heat ... especially in the next few months.

Hope y'all can square up some trips in the near future.

We just booked a trip for November 7-12th on Friday! I had been toying with the idea for several weeks and finally got the DH to bite. This trip is bittersweet for us, because my husband is leaving for a tour in Korea the day we get back. We didn't know when he was leaving until last week, thus, the late planning....

We canceled a trip for last December, because we thought we would be able to get command sponsorship (Army permission for dependents to accompany) for Korea, and figured we should save our money for traveling in Asia. *cough*Hong Kong and Tokyo Disney*cough*
Anyways, over the past few months command sponsorship has become unlikely. The waiting list jumped from nonexistent to 100 people and we're still not on it, even though we turned in our paperwork months ago (we could only submit it 180 days before his report date, and that's about when the waiting list appeared). I decided that we needed to spend some quality time together without distraction (dishes, laundry, other family members etc), and what better place than Disney!?

Soo...we booked 5 nights at Caribbean Beach Resort with one of the many pins Disney has sent me since canceling last December.

It will be me, my husband, and our 3 month old son. (oh yeah...did I mention that I found out I was pregnant the week before we were supposed to leave on our trip?!)

Anyways...Hello! I'm sure I'll become familiar with many of you before we all leave for our trips.

yes, we are DVC nothing aviailable for Thanksgiving Weds and Thurs, so that's why we'll be at the Dolphin

Sheila and Jessica - I'm sorry to hear about your decisions to cancel your November trips. It sounds like you are dealing with it positively, though. As one of you said, Disney will be there!

We all made our tie-dye t-shirts this afternoon. I can't wait to rinse them out tomorrow and see how they came out!

Oh my goodness, so many canceling. Sorry for all of you and for the factors that brought you to that decision. We have friends who were supposed to be down there for Thanksgiving and recently cancelled.

I am just starting the weird part of me (one of them. ) Wishing I could slow it all down now. I mean, tomorrow is 30 days, then Tuesday will be 29. I love the planning of Disney and once we get to this point it goes soooo fast and the trip goes soooo fast and then it will be 2 long years before we get to vacation as a family again and when we do it will be without DD16. So, I am entering the "wish I could slow it all down" portion of our trip. I get it every trip, you just plan and plan and plan for 2 eyars and while it is excitingthat it's almost here, I will miss the planning.

Hello from a fellow Army spouse! This is an R&R trip for us, but the the last one was a pre-deployment trip. I cry at the drop of the hat anyway, but I sure did spend alot of that trip teared up! One thing I was glad we did was take a couple of pics of just us.

We like to watch the nighttime parade (whatever it is at the time) at MK, but other then that not so much. If we catch it, great, but we only really camp out for a seat for Spectro and Wishes and only once during our trip, the other days we hit as many rides as we can during the shows.

Only sometimes... we like Spectromagic (well, now MSEP) and Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade. But we LOVE the Christmas parade during MVMCP!!! We watch it twice!

On our last trip we only caught the "Rainy Day Parade" at the MK on our last day. It seems like we are always back at the resort taking a swim around parade time.

This year we made our dinner ADR's at a later time so we can stay in the parks longer in the afternoon and still have time to swim. I will try to catch at least one parade this year!

We (DH and I) love them, but DSs have been to Mardi Gras and think that if things aren't being thrown at, I mean, to them it is not a "real" parade. So we usually just avoid them since the crowds are a bit much for the one with autism...

Sorry to hear you had to cancel. I would have come to the same decision too. I find the harder I have to work to make things to 'work out,' its not something we are meant to do and I need to sit back and let God drive a while. I hope your husbands job situation works out soon!
