What a great thread. I leave on the 30 of October, but most of my vacation is in November 30- 5 can I hang out here?
30 days for our family, going to spend Halloween in Disney at BLT can't wait.

50 Days to go! Actually 49 until we leave. But 50 to get to the mouse! It seems like it took FOREVER to get to the double digits. Now time is FLYING!!!

We're Going To Disney NEXT Month!!!

We can now officially say that!!!! That feels GREAT!!!!

(Oh, and I have never worried about bed bugs, but with the scare now in NY and all over I will be checking the room first. I won't let it freak me out too much, but I will be checking.)

Just google bed bugs and there's lots of info on what to look for, where they hide and what they look like. There are some posts on the DIS about them too.

Check the sheet and mattress pad for black dots (poop) or red dots (blood from people) and check in along the seems of the mattress. I think the bugs themselves are about the size of an apple seed. And never ever put stuff on the floor like your luggage or clothes. You should keep your suitcases on the luggage rack. And if you wake up with any sorts of bites or itches don't just ignore it!! There was a post on here about a lady who thought she just got bit during the day and then scratched them and ended up with a staph infection. So moral of the story wash your hands, don't scratch and don't let the bed bugs bite lol!!!

We're leaving the house 5 weeks from today! 5 weeks from tomorrow, we'll be on Disney property, and 5 weeks from Sunday we'll be checking into AKL....not that I'm excited or anything...

we are bringing bug spray.checking the bed, then sprayin the room before we bring our stuff in. better than bringing them home.

I'm not obsessing about it but I will check the beds just to make sure. My main concern is the crud on the tv remote, I always wipe it down before anyone uses it.

Walker? We have friends who live in Walker!!! Tom's my DH's best friend, has been since 2nd grade.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but OTC bug spray is not going to kill bed bugs. There is a reason they have come back big time since DDT was banned. Tt is one of the few insecticides that actually killed them! If you spray one directly with Raid, ect it will die, but spraying the room is not going to get rid of the ones you cannot see, or keep them from coming in. I would hate for someone to rely on bug spray to protect them and have it not work. The best thing you can do is be vigilant about checking. (Sorry, science teacher here.)
