The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

My DS12 and I read all 3 Kingdom Keepers. We very much enjoyed them but couldn't tell at the end of the 3rd if there will be another or not.
We made Mickey Mouse cupcakes last night, FUN!

I am so excited, I was just able to get an ADR for CP for 8:05am on Fri Nov 12th

I had to look twice when it showed up since for the past few days there was not anything at all available for breakfast that day

Cancelled a 9:20 am for 4 if anyone is interested

As we get closer, I have been thinking about coordinating shirts for this trip (this is NOT the aforementioned obsessive compulsive planning DH was questioning- LOL). My youngest has autism and is currently on a stripes kick. What our my fellow turkeys' opinions on stripes for one group member and solids for the rest all in similar colors? Will it look okay in the pics (we have never tried to coordinate before) or are we all relegated to stripes?

Not an earth-shattering question, I know...

Got my first flight time change from United today. My commuter plane leaves at the same time (6am), but now our flight from IAD leaves earlier, so we will be arriving 30 minutes earlier than we had planned (now 10:45am). I hope it stays that way. I'd love an extra 30 minutes in Orlando, even if it's waiting in line for Magical Express.

46 days to go!! :woohoo:

I have a Kindle and love it. It's not as flashy or colorful as an Ipad, but I have enough battery life to last me at least two weeks without recharging. I guess I can read it in the sun, but to be honest, I have not really tried this. I love the look of the Kindle being sold at Target, and it's a lot cheaper than when I bought mine.

Kindles are great, as they have access to so many titles at Amazon. I like being able to read something without broadcasting the book cover to everyone around me, as well. That way, I won't get embarrased while reading one of my silly vampire romance novels! (guilty pleasure) :rotfl:

Do you have to pay for all the books or are there some that are free? I love vampire romance novels too!!!!

I have read all three Kingdom Keepers. Love them

I have never heard of these books... what are they????

don't you just love it when they change your flights... so far they have been in our favor... our departing flight from MCO to come home has changed by 3 hours... later... so we get 3 more hours in Disney!!!!

Yay for 6 weeks!!!! And we were looking at the Kingdom keepers series last night...ds11 was needing a book, and I almost had him talked into it, but he said he just wasn't sure if he would like it--I think I am going to get it from the library next week if they have it....I want to read it...then I can tell him if he should or not--

My DD11 just finished the second Kingdom Keepers book today. I have to go get her the 3rd tomorrow. We are planning on getting them all on CD from the library for the drive down.

I have not read them but she loved the first 2.

Thanks for all the thoughts on the Kingdom Keepers! We are in 3 different spots in it. :upsidedow I am in one spot where I am reading to DS8. DS11 is in another spot. And I'm way ahead of that on my own!

It's not quite interesting DS11 like I thought it would. :confused3 I wish he would read it a bit further, I think he will get into it the further along he gets. But it's hard with all his school work now. I wish we would have started it at the beginning of summer.

Interesting that you can't tell if there will be another one or not. . .

I like the idea of buying it for your Ds Shelly since he loves to read anything to enforce the habit into his teens :thumbsup2
!

DS11 has really become quite the little reader this past year or so. He read tons of books this summer. DS8 on the other hand is still not interested in reading for fun. Only when he has to.

I have never heard of these books... what are they????

It's a series of books about Disney after dark! Check it out ~ http://www.thekingdomkeepers.com/about-the-books/kingdom-keepers-disney-after-dark/

Im curious what WDW phone apps everyone is using free/paid. I found a free wait-time app but not sure how accurate it is. I must admit, I have checked it every day. Does anyone know of an app that organizes adrs and confirmation numbers? I would love to hear from anyone who has used them this year or after their early Nov. trips.

DD found Mickey wallpaper and screensavers and put them on my phone to add to the anticipation. Im waiting until 50 days to start getting obnoxiously:lmao: excited.

Hey, has anyone heard any recent chatter about the FL expansion? Specifically, the closing of Mickey & Minnie's houses? I'm almost hesitant to actually verbalize this thought, but I'm thinking we may actually have a chance of them still being there in Early November? DD being only three @ travel time it was one of the attractions I was most excited for.

It is 5:21 am

Just 6 More Weeks

I started my order a couple of weeks ago and went in today to make some final changes and submit it. It was very strange, it was not my order. It was saved under my profile, but did not have any of the items I had originally selected. There was just a ton of meat. I know they recently updated their website, but have any of you had any problems with your saved orders?

Actually yes when I went in the other day to look at all of the things I had put in favorites they were all gone. This was the first time I had logged on since they updated the website. I ended up having to go back in and find and try to remember all of the things I had in my favorites. I went ahead and placed my order after that because I didnt want my saved items disappearing again.

Ride Hopper Lite on DH's phone is free. His phone is a Sprint EVO. He said it is Sprint's version of a Droid. It gives wait times for WDW & other parks in the country. Mine is a Blackberry. I searched yesterday & couldn't find anything for it with wait times??? :confused3

OOOhhhh, never thought of an ap to organize ADRs & conf. #s. Sounds wonderful! :thumbsup2 I just put mine on my calendar in the phone. I had enough space to put the conf. #s in with the ADR location & time.

First words out of DS's as he came down the stairs this morning -
"Can I take a Mickey head off of the wall?"

What a good kid! :lmao:

QOTD time!! When will you finish packing?

I will finish probably at midnight the night before we leave which will be fun because I think I will have to get up at 4 am!!!

I downloaded Verizon's Mobile Magic. It's 9.99 and its good for 180 days. I wanted to have it early so I could play with it and figure out how it works, but the wait times and fastpass times function only works when you have the GPS locator enabled and are actually in the World! For now I'm playing with the maps... you can save your favorites in each park. Guess I'll just have to wait and see how it works when I'm actually there! Which I will be in ONLY 58 DAYS!!!!! :yay::yay::yay: (I'm already obnoxiously excited... I can't help it!)

I was thinking of doing the bleach pen swirl Mickey head shirts. I don't know how that would work on a striped shirt but it could be cool. I was going to let everyone pick any color they want because my DH will only wear very bland colors (gray). The rest of us like a little more color. Are you doing shirts for each day?
