To Trublue and Weheartmickey,

I just wanted to say that you and your mothers will be in my prayers.

My Mom lost her battle to cancer on Nov 10th, 2009 after fighting stage 4 breast cancer that had moved to her liver and bones, for 3.25 years. Like you both, my mother absolutlely amazed me in how she handled all she went through and even just weeks before she passed she still held out hope for a miracle.

I know well all that you are going through and pray and hope for you all the best.

I figure we might as well do something fun with the money because it is just stuff that I would donate anyway....and MCVCP tickets seems like a good deal... we are going to do the Nov 8th one... I think they are around $53 each with the annual passholders discount

We are thinking about the 8th too. Do you think it will be extra crowded because it is the first night it is offered?

No I don't think so.... that is the best day for us... we already have reservations for Tony's Town Square for dinner...

Here are our dining plans

Sat. Nov 6th Dinner at Grade Floridan Cafe to celebrate Maggie's 21st birthday
Sun. Nov 7th Dinner at Mama Melrose
Mon. Nov 8th Lunch at the Garden View Tea Room
Mon. Nov 8th Dinner at Tony's Town Square
Tues. Nov 9th Dinner at 1900 Park Fare
Wed. Nov 10th Dinner at Le Cellier

then we plan on moving to Shades of Green so we will not have the dining plan after that

 I'm leaving you guys!

I got a pin for free dining in December, so I switched back. We are still staying at AKL, but we'll be there for 8 days instead of six - and it cost $300 less. SO - I'm saivng $700 total from my first reservation!

I might still hang around here on this thread, too. There are so many nice people going in November. :lovestruc

My Mom amazes me everyday! Her oncologist calls her a "walking miracle" :lovestruc LOVE that name--Chemo-Sabe! We may have to borrow it for Mom :rotfl:
:thumbsup2 Please do! Mama loves being called that by the grandkids. :)

I am so sorry for your loss. Cancer is just awful! The only thing good it brings us it the love that we share during the battle. :sad1:

Today I started really getting ready for the neighborhood yard sale... it is my goal to make enough to pay for our MVMCP tickets... and maybe a little bit more.. I do have three big ticket items that if they were to sell that would be great... a antique sewing machine with cabinet from 1903 and two oriental rugs my DH had made while he was in Saudi Arabia... most of the rest is household stuff, clothes, a car top carrier, a desk.. stuff like that... and what doesn't sell is NOT coming back into this house...

One year the neighborhood where I lived decided to hold a yard sale, that was my first and last yard sale ever, I sold 4 items, the bird cage, the aquarium, the baby swing, and my sons out grown knee and elbow pads for roller skateing, I forget what the total amount I made but it was enough we all went out to eat and took my Mother too, the next Sunday which was Mother's Day. But lugging all the things that did not sell back into the house and garage was the pitts :rotfl:

Anyone need a extra DH? He told me last night he thinks we should move over to the BC or back to a monorail resort. When we first booked our trip we were booked at the CR with MK view. He talked me into switching to the GF because he thinks the CR is to loud and busy. Then we as a group decide the GF isn't for us and we all choose the YC. I think I may strangle him. He knows how excited I am about YC but I really want to go "home" to the CR! Urrrrrrrr! Good thing the kids weren't here to hear him or else I would probably be spending my morning on the phone with the TA changing resorts again!

Too funny :lmao: I have wanted to stay CR since our first trip to WDW in '89 but it was all booked up by time we decided to go, later I found out a good friend of mine was staying there and the same week as us :sad2: but of course she had made a reservation like a year ahead so we stayed at the Travelodge in Hotel Plaza. We visited CR and my DH said he did not like it , just like your DH he thinks it is too noisy and too busy :sad2:
The YC is one of our favorites and I am sure once your DH stays there he will feel the same way of course if my DH had his way he would stay at the WL this time, my DS voted YC but I told him he did not have a vote since he is not paying for the resort  His wife is excited about AKL since she is a big animal lover , my DH did suggest BLT , BC, as second choices if we could not get a villa at AKL with our 40% off, but then he totally even forgot where we were staying at one point.

Stick to your guns YC is a fantastic resort !

Trublu and Weheartmickey - you and your families are in my prayers.

Trublu - I can't believe you are leaving us. It seems like you just got here! Have a great December trip, glad you were able to save some money & go longer!! Feel free to hang around and chat with us!

Glad you got the FD pin and added two more days :), now all the Christmas activities will be going on and you will have the extra time to take them all in, sounds like everything worked out for the best :thumbsup2

Just changed our dates in October to Novermber. We will be there 11/13-11/20! Even though it adds more waiting time  we were able to get in on free dining and will only have to take our son out of school for 2 days instead of 5 :woohoo:

So add me to the Official November group! :yay:I am excited!!!!:yay:

I know, I think I DID just get here! I just switched our filghts yesterday from Dec to Nov. :guilty: Now I just switched them back! :upsidedow

I sure hope it was the right decision. We're going to be there Pop Warner week, but we'll be in a deluxe resort, so hopefully it wont be crazy. My DH will not be happy with me if we are stuck in line with chanting cheerleaders! :scared1:

Can you add me to the list? We(me, DH and his cousin) will be at BC from 11/9-11 and then moving to the Poly until the 17th. I can't believe how long this thread is lol. Thanks.

I am hoping he is just messing with me. He knows how I am about planning and making sure everything fits. It makes me crazy if one thing is out of whack. But I guess if he is messing with me, its partly my fault. I made him spend all evening yesterday planning next years vacations. I was a bit peeved I didn't get to go anywhere this summer because of my surgery. I was determined I was going to the beach the day after my surgery! Ha! So I wanted to make sure we have plans for next summer and Thanksgiving. I was having a minor pity party tantrum. :rolleyes1

Mousescrapper- I just subscribed to your PTR, read up to about pg 12, so I still have a bit to catch up on. But I just saw you on the previous page and put it together that it was you. We are down the same week!

cool I will say :wave2: over there too...thanks for subbing in....I have update my PTR...away for a long weekend and now finishing up laundry and groceries...trying to get back up to speed here on the DIS!

the excitement is starting to buzz now for us November travelers :cool1:

has there been a QOTD recently :confused3

hope this hasn't been done...

What magical moments have you or maybe a child experienced while there at WDW?

for us:

my DD Bekah has been the luckiest...on her 6th b-day w/ her twin brother
(2005)they got to ride in the front of the monorail (recieved honory pilot licenses) were serrenaded on a bus ride and allowed to sit in the driver seat (parked of course) for pictures and honory driver licenses...got a very cool free paw print cupcake and trading pins from a CM at Pizzafari

in 2008 her and her siblings were given free popcorn for spreading the magic by passing out some extra glow bracelets to other children around us while waiting for Spectro

as well she and her brother were selected to be part of Jack's crew during the Pirate tutorial

last yr (2009) she helped open an ice cream stand in AK, drive a jungle cruise boat and was picked by Sergio in Italy to accompany him in the show

Thank you for the prayers...God is the only reason we are able to deal with Mom's illness w/ such hope! :goodvibes I'm so very sorry about your Mom, though. But-wow--Over 3 years! I know you must've cherished every moment with her. :cloud9:

:thumbsup2 Please do! Mama loves being called that by the grandkids. :) We will definitely see how she likes the name...thank you!
Trublu and Weheartmickey - you and your families are in my prayers. Thank you so much! I just love my DIS friends! :grouphug:

I know--you will DEFINITELY have to hang around! ;)

I don't want to be a pain... but we are actually staying through the 27th. We'll likely leave in the evening, as we'll have to return DS18 to his dorm at Florida Tech.

We are Jewish, and don't actually celebrate Christmas at home, but I LOVE the holidays at Disney.

It is extra special for my daughter because it isn't something we do at home... although.... the last two years, because of talking the the neighborhood kids, my youngest DD was convinced that Santa Claus was going to bring her a present. (she only expected 1 though--:lmao:) Our two grown DS and DD didn't want her to be disappointed, so they wrapped a Holiday Mickey from Macy's (this past year). DD7 put a cookie and milk out for Santa. DD21 ate the cookie and milk and left the present. DD7 was so delighted with her Mickey, which luckily said Merry Christmas among a few sayings. That would have been hard to explain for a Chanukkah gift. She asked me "mommy... why does Mickey's foot say Macy's 2009". I said.." well Dear.. everybody knows that Santa shops at Macy's for the presents that his elves can't make". She bought it!! :thumbsup2 I wonder how long we'll have to keep up the ruse?:confused3

I really am looking forward to hearing all the holiday music and seeing the decorations. In the meantime.... we'll be there in just 28 days in the searing heat and humidity! :scared1: It'll be a nice way to tide me over anticipating the holidays and better temps.

QOTD: What magical moments have you or maybe a child experienced while there at WDW?

We haven't had very many, atleast that involved a CM. New Years, we were in the longest line ever for the Speedway (dd2 insisted!) and the CM over heard DH and I talking about how he had been in Iraq just 72 hours before and now he was standing in MK. It was kinda a surreal moment. He came up to DH, shook his hand and said come with me. He was standing by the handicap entrance.... We followed him and he took us right up to the front of the line and put us in the cars. He told a few of the CM what was going on and they all said Thank You and one even saluted him. It was really sweet! For the rest of the evening, if we went past the Speedway and the CM was at the gate, he waved us in. The pride and respect the young guy showed my DH was amazing.

Another was when I was on BTMRR. When we go in June, no matter what time, I wear my Bday pin the entire week. Now I only do this if I am within a month of my bday -can't strech it out to far! ;) But we got in our seats and the train didn't take off. Not sure what was going on, but we set there for a few min. DD and I were in the first car and the CM at the stand noticed my pin and said Happy Birthday Jessica. I said Thank You. Then the next thing you know he is yelling to everyone "May I have your attention, today is Jessicas bday, everyone help me in singing Happy Birthday." To my surprise it appeared most people standing in line on the left track were singing Happy Birthday to me! My DD was totally embarrassed. Me, being the ham I am said a very gracious Thank You to everyone and attempted a seated bow. A few min later we took off... When we pulled back in, I was still getting Bday greetings. It was pretty cool!

In AK my niece dropped her ice cream on the bridge coming out of Africa. She was tired and had a complete meltdown! A CM walking by noticed what happened and told us to wait there. He came back with 3 regular ice creams for my 2DD and my nephew and this massive bowl of ice cream which he gave to my niece. She was all smiles then! LOL

This one doesn't involve a CM or anything, but it was a truly magical moment. We were with my entire family (14 of us) and we were waiting for the bus at the SOG bus stop at the TTA. There were alot of people there since MK just closed. The bus had just pulled out -we missed it, which meant we had another 20 min before another showed up. So, my BIL (who is a theater man) and my nephew who could out act him at the age of 2 decided there were going to sword fight. Keeping in mind they are both very very VERY theatrical, the sword fight was pretty awesome. My nephew has dying down to a T... in more then one way too. After a few minutes, they caught the eye of the crowd and everyone started watching. Even people going to other buses stopped to watch. They were very good! LOL Everytime my nephew would "die" the crowd would go nuts. He would stand up after a few seconds, grab my BIL hand and they would take their bows. It was so cute. And it was just a magical memory that we will have forever.

Since we're going in Dec now, I've got some ADRs I'm going to cancel. Let me know if you want to coordinate a time for me to cancel to increase your chance of getting them. :goodvibes
