Good morning November friends!

I have a QOTD!!

What is your favorite smell at WDW?

I love that fake bakery smell they pipe out onto Main Street! :cloud9: And the oranges on Soarin. :goodvibes

Oh - and that musty water smell on the POTC! :confused3 :rotfl: I know, I'm weird!

So many great smells, but for me, even though I have never stayed there, my favorite is the scent of the Yacht/Beach Club lobbies.

After posting this I saw that several others mentioned this smell at those resorts. Somewhere in the expanse of the Dis are some threads about this smell and someone found the place where Disney gets it. It is available to buy but its pricey. I don't remember the name of the company or the name of the scent, but I am sure a search could find it.

We'll (bf and I) be in WDW November 12-20... Staying at AKV in a savanna, 1 bedroom view! Can't wait! It's been nearly 2 years since our last disney trip. We used our DVC points to go on a cruise last year instead! We usually stay at BCV or BWV, but went for something new this time! If anyone has any words of wisdom (tips) for our resort, please share!

I wear Crocs Cayman for the plane ride, bring my red and black Mickey Crocs (grotesque!), Crocs ballet flats for "dress up", and I just got a new pair of Crocs "prepair" last week that I'm loving...they're a new style and I decided to go against my nature and get a nice, neutral navy blue/silver. :) That's it! Nice and lightweight so don't add much weight to our checked bags.

Oh, and my favorite smell is the lobby at the Poly....wet, tropical plants and dirt. :) Love it.

We've only been once (November will be our 2nd trip) so we don't have a spot....YET!

OT: I'm also on TGM and Mike just published his best days charts for the end of November. I am soooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I had a tentative itinerary based on last years charts and I didn't have to change a thing. Woohooo!!!!

Hey, jillyb - I'm here too! Happy to see you here!

-Tricia

Oops - more about me: I'm making my second trip from November 6 - 13. My husband and I, and our 3 kids - daughter (almost 7), son 5, and son number 2, 2 - will be staying in a 2 bedroom at BLT with my mother. So excited to be on the monorail with my double stroller. Last time we stayed at VWL (without my mom) and it was a pain to break down the stroller to get on the buses or ferry.

Okay ladies, I have a Question of the Weekend. . . .

How many pairs of shoes will you take to WDW????? :goodvibes:cool1:

I have been on a shoe buying frenzy this spring for some reason. (Always with Disney in mind of course ;)) So I am left wondering exactly how many pairs I am going to be able to fit into our luggage!! :rotfl:

I am going to try to limit myself to about 5 pair. . .

Probably 2 for me. Tennis shoes and some dressed up flip flop/sandals for our fancier meals.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!!! I can't imagine the excitement of getting married and honeymooning in Disney. I always wanted that..... That's sooooooo amazing for you!!!

Punttinones - Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! :bride: WDW is a wonderful place to honeymoon.

Southwest changed their release date again - better this time! Their travel tools now say June 10 is the release date for travel thru early January. It was previously June 15.

catch up on questions
smell - MVMCP parade - they pipe holiday smells out of the floats as they go by!
shoes - tenners & sandals
1st MK ride of day - we don't really have one...we sort of wander, not aimlessly, but not very purposefully unless an ADR or specific show is the goal....also, early mornings  are not permitted on our vacations. I don't believe the world should start until 10am, especially on vacation!

I will be there Thanksgiving week and could work in a DIS meet, would be fun.

:cool1::cool1: cool, I work on getting some more Disers and see about setting something up!

to the poster getting married :goodvibes congrats and happy planning

to the QOTD shoes:

have not thought too much yet...but Crocs for sure...

DH will have sneakers ans crocs (but they are just for the pool)

kids will all have just crocs the cayman style always try to buy cute Disney ones or fill up w/ Disney jibbitz

I will need to purchase new crocs for myself soon as my 2 various sandle ones the treads are getting bad and they are stained under foot. But most likely 1 on my feet and 1 packed, I will debate based on weather if I'll need any closed toe shoes for chilly feet :confused3

so at the most 3 for me

Interesting question, Shelley - - - I will wear New Balance walking shoes on the flight down and I'll bring one pair of cute heels to wear to California Grill, plus flip-flops (1 or 2 pair). I guess I'm weird, because I do not find Crocs comfortable. My feet get sort of numb in them, actually.

Have any of you heard of "Fit Flops"? I saw a thread about them here on the DIS, and I'm trying to find the cheapest price in my area or online. They run about $50/pr and that is WAY more than I typically spend on flip-flops. But I LOVE wearing flip-flops, and the consensus is that they are super comfortable, so I may splurge if I can find a good sale.

I will take my....

Sketchers mules
Nike Mules
Black, Dark Brown, Light Brown, and White Birks
Black Athens Crocs
A few different wedges for our Signature Dining
And probably just a few other shoes, just to be safe.

Yes, I have a shoe obsession. Its a issue. I bring a large suitcase full of just shoes. My shoes! I tend to buy a pair of shoes for every outfit. Sad, I know...

Now, my kids will probably bring a few flip flops. They will buy a new pair of Mickey Crocs as they do every trip and they will probably bring a pair of sneakers. But they will probably only end up wearing their crocs. lol Altho my 10 year old may surprise me. My shoe obsession is wearing off on her.

DH, he has 2 pair of shows. Thats all. Well, other then his combat boots and steal toes for work. But he has one pair of New Balance and a pair of casual shoes. So, unless I can get him to buy new that is all he will bring.

That is interesting that you can buy the smells. I bet they are real expensive though!

Hi! My DH, DD and I will be joining all of you November 13th - 20th, and we will be staying in a 1 bedroom villa at BLT. This will be our second trip as DVC members, the first being a stay at SSR (our home resort) in Sept. 2009. We are looking forward to staying at BLT and being so close to the Magic Kingdom.:cool1: This will be our fourth trip to WDW but the first time we are doing the DDP. I made online ADR's on Monday, May 17th and had no problem getting all that we wanted.

ADR List
Sat. Nov. 13 - Whispering Canyon @ 6:35pm
Sun. Nov. 14 - 1900 Park Fare @ 7:00pm
Mon. Nov. 15 - Teppan Edo @ 6;00pm
Tues. Nov. 16 - Liberty Tree Tavern @ 4:30pm (We're going to MVMCP for the first time!)
Wed. Nov. 17 - Le Cellier @ 7:00pm
Thurs. Nov. 18 - Coral Reef @ 7:00pm
Fri. Nov. 19 - Biergarten @ 6:30pm

Have a great weekend everyone!

I just never got into Crocs. :confused3 I've never worn them. And have no desire to. . . Just not for me I guess.

Never heard of Fit Flops. I would have a hard time paying $50 for flip flops too!

 I share your shoe obsession!! While I will take all those shoes, DH will likely bring 2 pairs of shoes (only because I will make him bring an extra pair!), and the boys will bring their tennis shoes, a pair of sandals, and some flip flops to wear around the resort and to the pool.

Did anyone go to the Old Navy Flip Flop sale yesterday??? :cool1: They were $1!! I didn't get any, because they were just the flat ones. I need a lift - I'm only 5'. But the boys got 5 pair each. Two pair for now, one for Disney in November, and two for next summer!

I've heard of Fitflops, but I also heard about Teva Mush flip flops here on the DIS and got some for our last trip and wore them the whole time! I wore crocs (blisters) and tennis shoes on our first trip and had so many feet problems, so I wanted another solution. The Teva Mush are like no other flipflop I have ever worn, I LOVED them (still wear them). I'll bring some tennis shoes just in case I want to switch up, but I doubt I'll wear them!

Wow....that's a lotta shoes :rotfl: I use to have a shoe addiction in my "younger" days, now I just go for comfort , I almost feel naked knowing I only take two pairs with me to Disney :rotfl2:

Hi Nov 2010! We are still on for Nov 10-15, BLT :woohoo:. I did get the ADR's we wanted and here they are :cheer2::

Crystal Palace
CRT
Teppan Edo
LeCellier
Ohana
Chef Mickey
Whispering Canyon

We also plan on checking out Earl of Sandwich & T-Rex!

Hello ladies!
Today was my ADR day, woke up @ 5:15, went back to sleep until 5:54. Of course my laptop had shut completely down during the night so I had to wait for it to boot up!!
Then it was taking forever for the reservation info to load up, so I jumped on our home computer. Got what we wanted. I actually only made 3 reservations, but one was for Thanksgiving dinner so that really stressed me out.
Going to LTT @ 4:30 for turkey
Also Chef Mickey's for breakfast and 50's Prime Time for lunch.
All's good, now I have to figure out what to do for 5 months, 3weeks, 6 days!
Chat with you guys, I guess.

Your ADR's look great! :thumbsup2 You might want to get an ADR for T-Rex if you plan on going there. It fills up fast. It was the only one I didn't get the exact time I wanted - 180 days out!
