I think we are just gonna wait till closer to time to get the tickets...wanna make sure on the weather...but I think in Nov it'll be fine! We have been in the castle before watching the lights and sunset out those beautiful windows...aaahhhhh!! Yay for you!!!
And my oldest son is 14 going into HS also! We need to talk!!! Ha!!! He actually did some Freshman level work last year...so maybe we will finish early!!:woohoo:
Glad everyone is getting the ADRs we wanted...good sign! I figured the weekends at Epcot would be hard to get...F&W and then people coming in for Tday....but I still think our crowd level is gonna be AWESOME!!!!

Jonah (my 14 yo) has also done some 9th grade work this year. It's just a matter of keeping up with all of that at this point. What state are you in??? Our laws are very liberal (thank goodness). This is my 2nd one to get through. I homeschooled my oldest all the way through.

I can't wait to see the lights from the castle. Having boys, we've never done the meal in the castle. :) :) My dd is going to love it!!!

I usually wait until later to get my MVMCP tickets because those are not refundable. If something happens and we can't go, I can't send those back or anything. That's quite a chunk of change to lose if something happens.

I don't think we've had a question of the day in a few days and I don't think anyone has asked this one (if they have, well...it's early, you'll have to just ignore me!)

What is the ride/attraction you run, uh I mean walk fast, to get to in the Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning? (Not necessarily your favorite, just the first of your day)

Well ... actually, we almost always go to Epcot the first day. That's least crowded on Sundays, and that's usually the first day we are in a park. We usually hit Spaceship Earth first there.

In MK ..... we usually head to Tomorrowland and Fantasyland first. I guess we usually hit Buzz first. We don't have a set pattern, really. We just enjoy *being* there. :) :)

I never ran to a MK ride for myself but I have had to take off running after my youngest DS who as soon as he got thru the turnstiles on EMH morning in Mk charged over to Splash Mountain :rotfl2:

Ha Ha! That created a funny picture in my head! I think this time we will start with Peter Pan then work our way back around toward Thunder Mountain. My youngest DD will be teetering on 40" at that time so I'm hoping we can all ride it together but I don't want to freak her out on a coaster the very first ride! She is really excited to ride a roller coaster!

We homeschool as well and I will have TWO out of three of them doing highschool in the fall!!

Yiikes! More power to you, sweetie!!!

How old is your 3rd?

My kids are 19 (he's in the Marine Corps), 14, and 4. It's a .... challenge, to say the least. LOL!

My youngest will probably be pushing 45" (she's 42.5 now) at that time. I'm hoping I can get her to ride a couple coasters. She's my skittish one ..... not sure what to do with one of those!!

ha!!!! Well, we are in Texas and our laws for HS are really good too. A friend of mine moved here from Alabama a few years ago and did extensive research on state laws, college requirements and all of it...her oldest was going into High School that year...anyway, the majority of the large colleges across the US told her that they really are just looking at test scores now. Not really even looking at what they took in High School, just how they test on the SAT or whatever that college wants to see. Which makes it easier for kids everywhere I think---considering that even some schools ( tho' public) are not too hot on the academic scale, those kids shouldn't be looked over if the school is bad. We have quite a range here in this area of public schools--some are 'not too good' and some are "super"! Just depends on where you live.... all in all, I love hsing...I like knowing what they are learning, and what they are strong/weak in.
I just wish they loved History more! I know I didn't really care for it till I got older--but we do lots of 'living books' for History and really learn about the subject's life...so much more interesting...but even still, they really could care less at this point! Oh well, I am having fun relearning all the history I forgot!!!:rotfl:

Wow! Spread out! My boys are turing 15 & 16 this summer and my dd is 9, she turns 10 in October and will be doing 4th grade work next fall. We're on "summer break" now! :cool1:

My husband is from Texas and his family is still there. We've talked about moving back and how hs laws are similar to here. We live in MO and they are also very easy to deal with. I'm glad we don't have some of the restrictions that the Eastern and Western states have!

yeah,... I have heard some states restrictions are just outrageous!! I can see where some states need certain guidelines, but some of the requirements are just not needed....I wonder if they think if it's so stringent the ones who are not really doing school will give up?

All done making our ADRs! So easy doing it online:

Sci-Fi (dinner)
Biergarten (lunch)
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Rose & Crown (dinner)
Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner)

Whew! Glad that's done.

Does this work well for you? We have four kids and our second has some medical issues which require him to have back surgery twice a year up in Philly. (We are in Fl) He is headed to middle school next year and the school zoned for our area (way out of the way and not closest to us!) is not somewhere we are willing to send him. He qualifies for the magnet programs we have available in the area that would put him in a different school, but we are concerned with him missing 6 weeks of school a year the advanced work would make it difficult at minimum for him to keep up. That along with concerns for his safety (he is very petite and someone even accidentally knocking him over could cause very serious issues) we are gonna do homeschool for him. His main concern with this is not having friends. I have seen where our local program has some social activities but I wonder if they are realistic and feasible. Do you have outside interaction for your kids? Is the homeschooling working well for them?

Sorry for the long story but we are just getting started in the process and I need all the info I can get, hehe! :goodvibes

Homeschooling changed our lives and family. It's hard to describe what spending all day together does, but I have never looked back! I think they have MORE social activities than kids that go to school. We have a homeschool group that we have weekly playgroups, field trips, & parties with, my dd has sleepovers any night of the week, and a large circle of very good friends that she spends time with. My boys take lessons and we also have a homeschool co-op in the fall and winter where they take classes (with us parents teaching) once a week! We love it! My suggestion is to read everything you can on homeschooling! :goodvibes

Thank you so much!! That was just the encouragement we needed!
