It will be February. Even if it's Florida, it will still be cold-ish. Orlando's average February low is 52. The sun won't be out. There have been years when we've gone down into the 20's at night. I don't think you'll want your belly exposed.

Actually, while last year was chilly b/c it was overcast and rainy, I still was pretty warm once I started running. I was wearing a running skirt and a ss top and was comfy. The year before that was HOT once the sun came out. I was in Corral B and the sun came up right as I was going through the MK. After that, the whole second half of the race was sunny and hot. So it's a mixed bag, for sure. Even last year on Saturday when we toured the parks I was in a tank top and shorts. The very next day (race day) I was wearing jeans, a ls tee and had a light jacket when it got breezy post-race. So, basically, have outfit plans A & B ready!

Did a trail run/walk 5k tonight. It wasn't a great time for me but at least I did it :) Trail runs are hard for me since I have to be careful about my footing so I don't trip. While tripping is bad for most people, tripping less than 11 months after major back surgery would really set me back.

I need to get on track but there is just so much stress in my life right now....

Have a great night everyone :)

Annette

Okay, odd question for those more experienced.... when I got fit for my shoes 2 years ago, I went to a running store and they put me in Brooks Ravennas - 1.5 sizes bigger than my regular shoe. That's fine - I get that running shoe sizing is different. However, since then I have read about most people only going up 1 size at most; even the Brooks website and other running store websites say to go up only half a size for the Ravennas. Does going from a 6 to a 7.5 sound weird? I mean, I haven't had any major problems save a bout with shin splints over a year ago and I've gone through 3 pair in that size but... it seems odd to me. I have been experiencing some pain each morning and some post-run in my left inside arch - worrying about possible PF-type issue. Just trying to puzzle out if my shoe could be contributing. Thanks for letting me think publicly! :rotfl:

You can do it, Annette! :cheer2:
The running has helped my stress / anxiety. I've been making time for me for a change and it's been good. KEEP GOING! You're doing great :)
I did my run tonight- Almost 2 miles in 30 minutes. More walking than last time which was good but I was set back because of the SWARMS of gnats near my lake! I am NOT doing that route again at night- only in the morning from now on- I haven't encountered any gnats in the morning before.

I wear Sauconys, but they sized me up too. I had OMG so much foot pain. I picked up a pair for cheap at the outlet in my normal size, and no more foot pain. I'm only running 3 miles right now though. Maybe it'll make a difference when I work up to longer distances? :confused3

Me too. The only downside is that when the weather doesn't cooperate (reoccuring nightmare about getting struck by lightning means no stormy running for me ;)) or if I'm hurting and I miss a planned run, I get really cranky. :rotfl2:

:goodvibes HI
I will be running in my 1st Disney race and my 1st half. I ran the color run here in philly and was hooked!!! There will be a group of nurses comming to run with me. Im gonna try and stay at Ft Wilderness since Im comming down for the Daytona 500 and Ill have my 5th wheel there already!!

:faint: Hee hee, I love hearing how differently we all feel FL's winter weather, depending on where we're from! I've lived in FL for 20 years now: I've literally NEVER been warm enough in Feb. to wear a tank top! I did wear shorts the day before the Princess 5K last year, but was chilly most of the day. For the 5K itself, I was in tights under a skort, long-sleeve mock T-neck tech shirt under a short sleeve shirt and regretted leaving my long-sleeve jacket in bag check, lol! I believe the temp was in the low 60s.

Exactly! :thumbsup2

Yes and no... yes, I think it's weird, too, but I'm in exactly the same boat: wear 6-6.5 in regular shoes, always used to wear 7's in running shoes. But with my favorite socks - thick Smartwool - I really do need to be up to a 7.5 in Mizuno and Newton. I could easily drop to a 7 in both with thinner socks. Don't know if that helps at all, but thought I'd throw it out there!

Your shoes are two years old? Time for a new pair :)
I typically wear a 7-7.5 and my brooks are 8s. 1.5 sizes up is too much IMO.

Yes, because your feet swell when you get into the longer distances. Maybe try just a half size up?

*grumbles* That's what I was thinking. I really really really don't want to have to buy 2 freaking pairs of shoes just to toss 2 of the 4 shoes. :sad1: My small foot is an 8.5 and my big foot is a 9.5. The 10s just did NOT work for my small foot. Right now the 9.5s are working fine, but I'm sure that won't last. Darn feet. $100 for shoes is bad enough, but $200 is hard to stomach.

I don't have an answer for you, but hoping someone will chime in. I have the same question, but didn't see anyone respond to you.

I saw that you started a thread and asked the same question, but didn't have much luck there either. I'm figuring if the 5K starts at 6:30, then an 8:15 or so ADR at Kona's would work.

Where in CT are you? I grew up in Seymour and moved up to Maine about 4 years ago, but I go back to CT about once a month.

OK, I finally got a minute to check this one out. Um, heck yeah! I will absolutely do this, too! Sounds like SO much fun. And, a chance to try out running in a costume before PHM. Thank you, Holly!!!

Did you sign up for the Devils Chase? It does sound like a fun race, huh? I have to get me a pair of devil horns to wear.

Holly

And I'm a Georgia girl! I guess that extra little bit closer to the equator helped. :rotfl: And, yes, I think that I might be better off in a 7 but will run it by the local store.

Nope - I was just saying that it's been (wow - over) 2 years since I originally got fitted for them. I've actually got 3 pairs in the rotation - my originals for just everyday walking around, the next oldest pair for short runs and the newest for long runs. Although the pair I use now for my short runs are the ones I wore during Princess 2011 so yes, time to get a new pair. My b-day is coming up, so that is what is prompting all this - trying to tell the hubby what to get!

Always search online. Road runner sports and runningwarehouse are good sources. Finish Line sometimes has good online sales, and check non-running sites like zappos, 6pm and shoebuy - they all carry running shoes. Also, you may just want to save one pair for short runs and use a different pair for long runs.

So excited for ADR day to come!! Planning on Celebrating at Crystal Palace with the family after I complete the 1/2!!:cool1:

Anyone else have special plans????

Hoping for an ADR at the Be Our Guest Restaurant for dinner. If not there I am not sure what is second on my list. I need to get on that this weekend.

That's where I'm going to try to get an ADR too. I think I can try this Sunday to make the reservation.

I don't have a Plan B either.

Had a horrible run today. Had a sharp pain shoot through the middle of my back about a mile in and the rest went to crap. I must have pulled something, and am really crabby about it now. Fortunately I had a chiropractor appointment after my run so she worked on it and it feels a little better. Now I need to mentally prepare for 6 miles on Friday AM before DH and I head out for our 7th anniversary weekend. We are planning on two rounds of golf, hiking, and kayaking, I hope this does not hinder those plans. We do not get weekends away from the kids that often. I also fired DH as my running coach yesterday after he told me that I needed to run the full half without stopping for pictures or walking. So, in a nut shell, having a bad week and needed to vent. Oh, my oldest daughter is starting kindergarten next week and I am having horrible mommy anxiety over her being in school all day.

Thanks for letting me vent, and I know that this too shall pass, keep calm and keep on running. :)

One more thing, those of you who blog, THANK YOU, your blogs are such great motivation.

My DH suggested CRT as plan B, but he was joking as we go there every trip with our three girls.

I think we're trying for BoG the evening before the race, and Ohana's for the celebration dinner.

:thumbsup2 Yep. Ohana's is my faaavvvooorrriitteeee. Bread Pudding. Yummmmm! I will earn seconds of that bad boy!
