DMickey- I'm wondering if your dog is going through a phase now that Lobo is gone? Or did it start before that?

He is a fairly new adopted dog so I think it's a lot of changes that he is deaing with. He's fine as long as he goes out a lot. I think that it happens when he is left alone for a few hours. I am sure that time, consistancy and positive reinforcement will continue to work.

Morning! Funny you are talking about babywearing. I have had Lila in a Slingling, but I am now on the search for a SSC (soft sided carrier). I am looking at the Beco, Angel Pack and Action Baby Carrier. I also want the Beco Obi so that I can wear her facing out.

Okay, so I think I am creating a monster. This little one seriously will not sleep in her bassinet if I am in the room. Stinker. Should I just forget about it for awhile so that I don't stress out, or should I still try to get her in there. The biggest problem is that when I nurse her at night, I fall asleep and so I don't end up putting her in the bassinet. Bad mommy!

I would fall asleep nursing DS at night as well. I think that at this age you are still ok with that. I think we did that until about week 5 or so. Do you swaddle her? Until I found the right swaddle I couldn't get DS to sleep at all. He was actually on his tummy within the first 6 weeks because it was the only way to get him to sleep ... now that's a bad modern mommy.

My best friend's second one is almost three months old and just now getting into a sleeping routine at night. She won't nap though. My thought is that for the first 6 weeks or so you are just hit or miss with what or work. I think that they are too young to really figure it out yet, as they have no idea either!! i remember, at that point, that something that worked one night didn't work the next. We never did the bassinet except to have him in the vibrating bouncer in the bassinet a few nights here and there because that was what worked then.

Good Luck ... she is just beautiful.

Ok ladies, here is an AF related question!

I have been on Yaz for the last 13 months. The first few months I spotted and then it was great. Then the last three months I have spotted with this past month being the worst. I started spotting dark brown old blood two weeks ago and it just kept going. I called the doctor and he wants to start me on Femcon (or something like that!) I am going on vacation in October the week I would be starting AF again so i wanted to make sure that I wasn't spotting and also that I could back to back the packs. The doctor was fine with that. I have had problems with low hormones in the past but Yaz was good for a few months. I didn't change how I took it or the time, it was always within 15 minutes.

So here is the question. I have been spotting for a few weeks. This AM AF started full force, fresh blood (TMI) and cramps. So on the yaz, next week is supposed to be my 'bye' week but now since AF is starting should I start the new pack tomorrow as the first Sunday of your period????? My thoughts are that the Yaz was not strong enough for me and IF DH had done the BD we very could have gotten pregnant this month ... he won't touch the spotting with a 10 foot pole and I don't blame him!!!

Sorry if that was TMI but I honestly don't know what to do and the dr. office is closed.

Thanks ... I am leaning towards starting it tomorrow.

ETA: Here's another scenerio. If AF is coming earlier now ... I suppose I could stop the pill all together and then if I get back on track I could get AF the week before vacation and be set for vacation and possibly a little baby making!!!

I need to catch up. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

We took Spencer to MNSSHP last night. It was so much fun and he did great! We rode Jungle Cruise, POTC, Peter Pan, IASW, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, and HM. Spencer loved it all. He loved the fireworks, but fell asleep halfway through. He also missed the parade, but one of the Lost Boys touched him. :)

I started having issues with my camera, but I was still able to take almost 400 pictures.

Amber, the pics are fantastic- I love the look of surprise on his face in the 4th one! I am so jealous!!

My BIL/SIL and nephew are there right now. Landon apparently HATES the characters! :sad2: :rotfl: Nic (my sis-in-law) said they have 3 more character dinners, too! They said it's hot but it isn't crowded, which is cool. She's on the lookout for a Minnie or Tink costume for Vaylie. :yay:

AND- apparently they have some sort of "bounce-back" deal going on. If you booked a trip this year during the free dining period, you can book another for next year with lower rates AND free dining!! :cool1: BUT- they have to book while they are there! So, they are going to get the details and if it sounds good, we're going to take a family trip next year them and my In-laws! I am SO excited- it'll be a ton of fun. My sis might come along, too, which would be great.

We went out to dinner and shopping with my in-laws tonight- they (meaning my MIL) bought Vaylie a ton of new clothes. We tried on lots of 18 months and they are all still too big! Like, WAAAY to big. :sad2: So, we ended up with mostly 12 month pants (and 12-18mo size at Old Navy fits perfectly- we need an "in-between" size for other brands). We bought 18 month shirts, since those can be a bit big and not be a problem. Lots of cute stuff, that's for sure.

Oh, and they bought a new van. A Chrysler Town&Country, with fold'n'go seats and automatic door open/close. They got $10,000 OFF!!! :scared1: Can you believe it? :woohoo: It's soooo nice.

We are probably going to get serious about buying a new car pretty soon. I would prefer to wait until after the holidays, but we'll see. :3dglasses

Becky, thanks. :) We haven't been able to get to WDW since we moved down here (we are still saving for our passes). I hope we can get our passes soon, because Spencer had such a good time.

How old is Landon? Maybe he will warm up to the characters. I do know that they will just avoid your table if you don't want to meet them.

DMickey, I recommend baby wearing. It is so easy just to plop him in a carrier.

Amie, Lila is just adorable! Spencer never liked his bassinet. Even in the hosptal he wanted to sleep with me.

I haven't been since May '06. And I am itchin' to go back.

SIL just called- the smallest Tinkerbelle costume they have is size XXS (2/3). Boo. But, she did pick up a Minnie Mouse- sz. 18 months. SO, that'll work. And the bummer: if they do the bounce-back, they can only reserve up to one more room (2 rooms) and we need three if our parents-in-law want to go. Hmmmmmm.... We're going to have to work something out. :scratchin

beck- if you need some 12 month size pants I have a nice pair of jeans and a pair of cordoroys that a friend gave to me and Ellery was too chubby for. let me know if you want them.

So Will has tooth #2 poking through. I didn't realize it until today. he hasn't eaten dinner the last two nights. I even tried to give him his favorite foods and no interest, so i figured it was a tooth. Then he had a monster puke session this afternoon while DH was at the gym. I had put him in his highchair for some crackers/snack and suddenly I hear him puking. It was one of those 'totally emptied his stomach' episodes, it just came for a solid minute. everything he had eaten the past two days came up. gross!!!! his entire outfit was soaked and the entire high chair. had to wash it all and throw him in the bath. The first time he puked like that i freaked since it just kept coming and seemed impossible he even had that much in him. Have your kiddos done that? He has done it about 4x now on different occassions and always when teething and he gags on something (sometimes his own finger!!!). ugh! what a mess. he had a great swim lesson today and went all the way under. He even fell in the water on his own- we pull him in from sitting on the edge of the pool and he was leaning over wanting to go in, so the teacher said to let him fall in himself and he loved it. he came up splashing and laughing. so maybe he also was a little water logged and that added to the puke session. :rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl2:

Oh and no real hurricane effects here in Dallas, just rain ALL day and some strong winds. My aunt/uncle in Tx City, near galveston stayed in their manufactured home (crazy!) and said their roof was severely damaged, their garden and all plants are gone and they have leaking everywhere, but thankfully no flooding up to the house and everyone safe. They both work at the hospital on galveston island- i guess they might be getting a break for a while- she is a NICU nurse too. My grandpa owned 2 beach houses on Surfside beach near Freeport and they kept reporting from Surfside on the national news. I am sure those houses are gone or a loss by now. They were literally right on the beach and we went there every summer. He since sold them, but sad to know they are probably gone now. They were small and not in great shape anyhow.

POLLITO- so sorry about DH being so sick. hopefully you guys all get healthy soon and stay that way.

BECK- i am with you- ready for another baby, but not another pregnancy- mine was awful! i really am sort of ready, but i just don't know if i am mentally and physically ready to go through all the fertility treatments again. it was a year of pure torture to get preggo last time and then i was so sick my whole pregnancy. But yet, i would like another and suffer through it all again!

AMIE- love the pics of Lila! adorable!

NICOLE- you have already left i think, but hope you are having a great time. I can't wait to hear all about it.

DMICKEY- our dog has cushing's disease and i think one of the side effects can be having 'accidents'. YOu might google it and see if any of the other side effects add up or not. or like you said, it is most likely just getting adjusted to a new schedule etc. It might just take time. Have you ever used or tried those puppy pads? at least then the mess is confined and not all over the carpet.

AMBER- adorable pics!! looks like he had a great time

Michelle- You guys know Zoe has always been a puker.....much better now,but just this week she puked a morning bottle-about half of it- for no reason..I think she just has a strong gag reflex. She has not has too many puke episodes with her solid food, but Sam on the other hand crams everything on his tray in the side of his mouth like a squirrel and then tries to swallow it and gags and pukes sometimes.

I bet with Will that it is teething related. Maybe it hurts to chew so he is not chewing his food up as well as he should and just gags on it, making him puke.

My friend put all of the puking going on at times here into persepective for me....she said that mybabies have such a strong gag reflex that I should never have to worry about choking..they just puke instead!:sad2:

Michelle- Glad to hear that everyone is safe and sound! Ike sure has caused a mess. I would guess that the teething and pool water had something to do with the puking. Heck, if my 5 yo swallows pool water, he starts to gag.

Beck - Can't wait to see Vaylie in the Minnie Costume. I have one myself...I love to wear it on Halloween, but my DH thinks it is naughty :rolleyes1 .

We are taking the kids on a Disney Cruise in Jan. This is their Christmas present and they have no idea. It will be interesting to see how Lila does on the ship and the parks. I haven't done the parks with an infant in a very long time.

BTW, my 5 yo was seriously afraid of the characters right up until our last visit in Feb. He is fine with the face characters, but those fur characters scared the beejeezus out of him. Still doesn't want to stand to close.

Michelle- glad everything is ok there! We are getting Ike's leftovers today. It's raining like crazy, and the wind is crazy (for here, anyway- I'm glad we don't get hurricanes!!). My boss just called me and said our Customer Appreciation day is cancelled (:yay: - I didn't want to go), so now I am free to go grocery shopping (which I desperately need to do).

Amie- ok, the naughty minnie thing CRACKED me up. :lmao: I dare not even buy a costume of any sort for that reason! :rotfl: And I would LOVE to do a Disney cruise at some point. I have never been on a cruise. We'll probably do one when our next child is older. Whenever that is. Since the next child isn't even conceived yet. :)

Meredith- I was a puke-y kid too. I still have a really sensitive gag reflex. And Vaylie will sometimes do the same thing Sam did- cramming as much as she can into her mouth and then she chokes. :sad2: SHe's getting better about it, but sometimes you'd think I never feed the kid the way she shovels food in. We have to give her teeny tiny portions. One time I gave her 1/2 of a banana. BAD idea. She shoved most of into her mouth and started choking. I had to stick my finger in and scoop it all out. :scared1:

Ooooh, guess what?!

SIL called- they are going to book our trip for (we're thinking) Sept.25-Oct.2 of next year, w/free dining!!! :yay: :woohoo:

I am so excited!! I'm hoping we'll stay at Carribean Beach- the new pool looks so great (and we have never stayed there before and neither have they).

We'll be there for the Food and Wine Festival  AND MNSSHP!!! Did I mention I am EXCITED!!!!???

So I have to share since I know you ladies will understand. DS has had runny poops for the last week. Basically they think its a mixture of teething and a stomach bug. However he's been completly fine except for that which caused a horrible rash but its getting better. Anyway DH does the morning routine with him since I go to work so early and when he got to work he sent me an email stating that we had a turd. LOL DH was so excited to not have the runny mess. I'm just hoping it lasts. Oh the things that parents get excited over. LOL

I'm glad everyone seems to be doing ok with IKE. Hannah gave us rain but nothing too bad when it came through.

Amber - I love the pictures!!! I can't wait to take Alexander to WDW in December. I think he is old enough now to have more interest in everything. Last time we were there he was 10.5 months old and he loved the characters but didn't really react much to anything.

I bought DS a Leap Frog Fridge magnet thingy, The wash n go:
http://www.leapfrog.com/etc/mediali.../itp_10197_fridgestop.Par.58687.Image.350.jpg

It was on clearance at Walmart for $17.00. We haven't taken it out of the box yet but DS is pressing the green truck bottom that comes in the thing. It seriously says "Green Twuck" ... like a 2 year old would say truck ... twuck. How is that right????

Hi everyone! We are back from our trip! Looks like I have lots to catch-up on!! Tonight after Brady goes to bed I will have to read all the prior pages!

We had an absolutely great time - Brady was an angel all week and enjoyed every minute. Everytime we put him in his stroller, he would say "go go go". Too cute! I posted a lot about our trip on his blog if you want to see some pics and read about it.... http://nhbradyboy.blogspot.com/.

Becky - Ya, that bounceback deal was great! We were actually going to book it for next Sept., but ended up adding-on 100 DVC points at the AKV, so we plan on using those for our next trip next Sept.

Off to play with Brady. Pretty boring just me and him today at the house! He keeps looking at me like, "Where are we going today mommy?". ;)

Amber - We were at MNSSHP the same night you were! Spencer looked too cute in your pics!! I don't think we ever crossed paths...I would have remembered seeing that handsome little pumpkin! The party was great - we had so much fun! Brady stayed awake until 11:30 at night riding all the rides! He had a blast!

Becky - We rented a Town & Country while we were down in Disney - it was so nice! Lots of room and it drove really nicely! :thumbsup2 We looked at all the new cars after coming out of Test Track. I fell in love with the Acadia....it's so nice - lots of room, yet not a minivan. My lease is up in June, so I am on the hunt for something new! I really liked the Cadillac SRX....may take some convicing on DH for that!! ;) As for costumes....we hunted EVERYWHERE for something for Brady. They are seriously lacking in the 24 months and younger category - and even more-so for boys. The girls they had several cute Minnie and princess items, but really nothing for boys. A few pirate outfits for older boys, and a Peter Pan costume. We ended up getting him a Mickey baseball outfit and got a bat with his name on it made at the Team Mickey store at DTD. It ended up being really cute...although the bat was more for a weapon than anything else!!

Michelle - Sounds like Will loves the pool! That is great!! I can't wait to sign Brady up again this fall. We took the summer off since he was in the pool and lake a lot. Brady has never thrown-up like that....I am sure I would also be freaked-out if he did! I've heard that when teething, the excess drool can really cause their stomachs to get out-of-whack, so maybe that's it. Brady does go through those phases of eating nothing, though. I think he's in one right now....really not a big breakfast or lunch today. Maybe he is depressed we are home from Disney?!

Amie - That is exciting that you are surprising your kids with a cruise/disney vaca!! That will be so much fun! We have never taken a cruise with Disney. I think we are going to schedule one for when their new boats come out in 2011! :thumbsup2

Jenny - Brady went through the EXACT same thing the week before we left for Disney. Really runny poops and bad, bad diaper rash. But, he acted completely fine other than that? :confused3 It went away after about 7 days. But beware....I think I got some of his virus and was on the toilet for the first 3 days of our trip. Nothing would stay in me!! I'm still not sure if it was the virus from him or not....but it wasn't pleasant! Thank god we stayed with friends at their house for those first couple of days so I didn't have to go anywhere and could stay near the bathroom!

DMickey - I CAN'T BELIEVE that the Leapfrog toy says "twuck". As a speech-pathologist, that is infuriating!!! :headache: Like we want kids to hear something like that over and over again?!?! Yikes - someone wasn't thinking on that one!!

Get this! My SIL called today and they are buying DVC!!! She's so pumped. It'll be good for them- I don't think she intends to vacation anywhere else for the rest of her life. :rotfl:

I would LOVE DVC, but just can't justify the cost at this point in our lives. *sigh* I'll have to live vicariously through them. Or hope they let me take cheap trips.

We're still booking the bounce-back trip, though. They'll just be staying at the Animal Kingdom dvc rooms.

I'd like to stay somewhere new- maybe Caribbean Beach? Anyone been there? See the new pool?

Never tried CBR. We have been a family of 5 for so long, that our choices haved been limited. Although a few years ago we bought DVC and have never looked back.

I can't wait for Jan!
