JENNY- lol at being excited about a 'turd'. but i knowthe feeling

Poor Will got a stomach bug apparently at day care. he threw up friday, but i didn't think much of it because of his gag reflex, he does that every once in a while. He also had the runs, but i figured it was the teething thing. He acted fine. But he wasn't eating. He didn't eat solid food at all during the weekend really. I even tried his favorites, but no go. by sunday, i knew he was sick- he still had the runs and threw up again- a gallon's worth. it was awful. My sister was there and helped clean it up. Sunday at 3pm, i felt my tummy in knots and knew it was coming. i spent like 5 hours on the bathroom floor writhering in pain. awful cramps and out both ends. i know, gross. I lost 5lbs. i was dry heaving at the end, nothing left to throw up. i couldn't keep water down. I finally got to sleep at like 2am on monday morning. DH got it in the middle of the night. So all 3 of us were home yesterday miserable. i am finally feeling better, have a dehydration headache. i've been downing gatorade. My mom and sister caught it too- they were around Will on saturday.

BECK- awesome on the trip next yr with free dining. DH and i did it a couple of years ago and had a blast. man, we ate well! lol

KELLY- welcome back! i am going to catch up on your blog now. I just adore those pics of Brady with Mickey. too cute!

Back to my water, sprite and tylenol and to finish up work. my last day is Thursday! :woohoo:

Oh I hope DH and I don't get it. He's doing alot better today and he's been eating fine the whole time so not sure what it really was. I'm guessing one of those random daycare things.

Oh Michelle you poor thing!!! :hug: That is the worst when it's coming out both ends....yikes....:sick: Hopefully the worst of it is over and you are all on the mend!!

Question for you ladies....are you getting the flu shot? Are your LO's getting the flu shot? Not looking to start a debate!! Just curious. Last year DH and I got the flu shot, but we didn't give it to Brady. My ped was pretty strong-voiced about Brady getting it this year. I don't know.....I'm just not sure I want to do it.....any thoughts? Would love to hear any opinions!! popcorn::

We don't do the flu shot. If Brady is in daycare I would do the shot for all of you.

I am going to get all of us the flu shot..it terrifies me to think of having to deal with two sick babies!!!!!! We are not in daycare but with our playgroup and other places we go to play where we are around a lot of other kids, I would rather have the shot!

Michelle - I am sorry that you guys all got sick. That stinks ... I have such a problem with throwing up. I HATE it ... I mean like scared of it, I honestly have wondered if I have a phobia of it. I was lucky with morning sickness.

So I met a mom in my complex today while walking the dog after Alex ate dinner. Obvious case of a SAHM that needs to get out more!! I literally talked to this woman for less than 7 minutes. I found out that:
*Her son is 2.5, didn't talk until his 2nd birthday but was 'ranking' 30 months on phsyical and cognitive development when he was Alex's age (16 months.) She said his IQ was genius.
*Her twin 1 year old daughters were actually quads but she decided to terminate two of them because of the complications with quads and even triplets.
*She had fertility issues getting pregnant the second time, hence the quads.
*She moved here in February after moving from a three story townhouse to another complex down the street but the apartment had mold. She is now suing them.
*She told me that she knew where we live now was more expensive than the place that I told her we moved from. It's not, we pay $350 less PLUS got two months free.
*The neighbor who's house we were infront of, who has a three year old boy, is pregnant.
*Her son goes to daycare "school" 5 mornings a week because he's already potty trained.

Seriously ... in less than 7 minutes. I was walking away with the dog and Alexander and said, "Oh by the way, my name is Christina." :rotfl2: Is that just too much info for a first meeting???

Granted I talk to my mom multiple times a day and talked to my best friend for about an hour today so I wasn't desperate for adult conversation but STILL!!

wow :headache: :rolleyes1 :eek:

Man oh man! There are just some things you don't share EVER, and this lady seems to have shared about 97% of those things! :eek: Perhaps you should've suggested that she find a mommy group or SOMETHING!

Good for you for listening attentively even though you couldn't get a word in!!

That's what I was thinking!! :rotfl:

I mean, who talks about all of that in the first 7 minutes of meeting someone? And I hate, HATE the "My child is SUCH a genius" (they can't even accurately measure IQ at that point and everyone thinks their child is a genius- join the club). I hate it because it moms who do that are just trying to stir up a competition, and it is not a competition!!!

Michelle- oooh, yuck. I had that early this spring (with the both ends), and it gave me a good dose of reality- I remembered very quickly after puking for 2 hours why I didn't like being pregnant!! :rotfl: I hope you guys feel better!

Kelly- I was not going to do the flu shot last year. However, Vaylie is around our "honorary" nieces (ages 5 and 7) about 2 days/week, and you know what kind of germs kids bring home from school. Yuck. Personally, I have never had the flu shot. I've just never bothered, plus it seems like there are shortages every year and since I'm fairly healthy, I figured I'd rather let someone who really needs it get it. My doc highly reccommends that babies/toddlers get the shot, though, and I have to say- we didn't have any reactions from it like we have other vaccines.

If Alexander was around other kids more then i would probably give him the shot but he's not unless it's a play date that we decide on!

Yeah, that woman was a little crazy. She even had that "Look" about her. Shirt falling off the shoulder, tight knit yoga pants, hair all over the place, glasses falling off her nose and yet she took the time to put earrings on!! The tight yoga pants are cute when you don't have a lot of weight to lose, at least in public. Now I am no skinny minnie and i was out in my pj's, with my hair wet from a shower and pulled back into a ponytail but i hadn't brushed it yet so who am i to talk!!!

Great morning so far here ... My cat threw up in Alex's room and under the dinning room table. Still haven't cleaned up under the table ... can't see it when I walk by ... :rolleyes1 Gross, I am going to do it when I finish typing this. Alex got ahold of one of the halloween decorations and broke it on the tile foyer so I had to pull the vacumm out to do that. Yesterday our dishwasher wasn't working properly. We are now on the 3rd cycle of the same load and it finally got the soap out of the dispenser. Just went to move clothes from the washer from yesterday to the dryer only to see that it was stuck on the rinse cycle and floating in water ... from yesterday. Ewww ... I am supposed to go meet some new SAHM in the area for lunch at Panera today. I haven't met any of them before and of course I am looking for an excuse not too because I am too nervous and shy ... CAn I just stay and hang out with you guys today???

LOOK! LOOK! More pictures of my angel: :rolleyes1

How 'bout THAT face?? :rotfl2: :lmao:

I'm mad mommy! :headache: Get me out of this darn crib! ;)

ry%3D320

Mo LOVES the park!

ry%3D320

And the ducks love him! :)

ry%3D320

LOVE this outfit!

ry%3D320

Isn't he just PRECIOUS??!! :cloud9:

ry%3D320

Uncle Daniel is attempting to convert him :lmao: :rotfl2: ...that's a Gator's hat Mo is wearing! :yay:

Kelly welcome back! LOVE that pic of Brady and Mickey....TOO PRECIOUS!

Michelle...sorry Will got sick at daycare. I'm blessed to have two wonderful babysitters and don't have to worry about that right now. Mo hasn't been around a lot of other children, but I'm working on that.

Becky....You're going to Disney! HOT DOG! :woohoo: Nothing like Disney with a little one. I can't wait to take Mo. It'll be a few years though.

So did I tell you girls...I'm a bad mommy! :guilty: Last week, my son took a flying leap out of the crib! All I saw was feet in the air and then heard the thud on the floor before I could get there to catch him. :sad1: Needless to say, I put that crib on the last notch IMMEDIATELY after that. Oh I was so scared. Mo was fussy for about an hour afterwards, but was back to normal later in the day...yea! :goodvibes I thought the tumble off the bed was it for him, but who am I kidding?? :rolleyes1 Now, he likes to lean WAY over in his activity center to see where the toy went that he threw on the floor. I have an adrenaline monkey I think. :rotfl2: Definitely his father's son in that area. :lmao:

So anyway, I love reading what's going on with your girls everyday. SO....I should go feed Mo now. He's been patiently playing in his center and watching his Baby Einstein DVD. Time for breakfast now! Take care girls! :wave:

Denise - I can't believe how big Mo is already. He is growing up fast!! Crazy .. we are waiting for Alex to figure out that all he needs to do is stand up on a stuffed animal and he will probably be tall enough to launch himself out of the crib!! I hope it doesn't happen anytime soon. Our next step would be the toddler bed and he is just too young to stay in the bed and not play at 1am.

Girls ... I chickened out AND the organizer emailed me and called me out on it. I am so embrassed.

I made Alexander an appointment at BRU's Kiddie Kandid's tomorrow for 10am. I have a 30% off coupon to use by Friday. I am going to use the Fall setting and dress him in Khaki's but I need a shirt. I'll probably run to target first because all his shirts are very summery and not very fallish. Not that he can wear them any other time but for pictures down here.

Denise - awesome pics! He's so adorable! That must have been scary with him getting out of the crib. Christopher hasn't figured it out (yet), and he has nothing in it to climb on.

DMickey - Go meet the other moms when you want to. You'll be ready another day.

Kelly - your pictures were great! You all look like you had so much fun. As for the flu shot, nope. Neither of us get it, and neither will Christopher.

Michelle - hope Will and everyone are recovering OK. Everyone here has a wicked cold right now. I had no idea you can't get baby cold medicine over the counter anymore :confused3

Denise- adorable pics of Mo, he is getting to be such a big boy! :wizard:

DMickey- lol at the neighbor SAHM---all i can say is wow. way too much info that a stranger doesn't need to know! lol :confused3 :lmao:

Thanks for all the get well wishes. We all stayed home Monday. I went back to work yesterday and felt better. But this morning, i felt bad again. not vomitting or anything, but uneasy stomach again. So i finally called the doc. I am hosting a 'couples' wedding shower sat night for my sister and hosting like 50 people at my house, so i have to be well! So i got a shot in the butt! plus 3 prescriptions to clear out any viral infections i might have, as well as some zofran, which was my best friend when i was pregnant and sick. So at least I will have that handy next time i get that sick again. So starting to feel better and I actually ate some dinner tonight. still down 4lbs, so that is the only good thing. :rotfl:

Kelly- we will probably do flu shots. With Will being in day care, I think it is a must. I am almost certain this stomach flu came from day care. I think I have a really weak immune system, so I tend to catch everything- i am anemic etc. as it is too. I have started taking acidolphious and other vitamins daily to try and help prevent though.

Tomorrow is my last day at work. So no more laptop to take home. I assume i will have a laptop at the new gig, but I didn't specifically ask. I'll be travelling and working from home on occassion, so I assume so. I start on Monday. Friday I am going to my sister's bridal portraits to help her move her dress around and make sure it doesn't get dirty (outside in a garden type shots). I am hoping to get in a nice long nap too!!!

I was dying on Monday when all 3 of us were home sick. I really thought about how hard single moms or parents must have it. At least DH and I could take turns watching Will while the other rested or napped. I could have slept the entire day if I hadn't had to watch Will. I even called my mom to help, but she had caught the same thing and was sick herself. It really made me appreciate how hard single parents must have it- even when you are sick, you can't just stop, you still have to take care of everyone.

have a great Thursday everyone- i think there is a big disney announcement in NYC- hopefully it will tell us what the big 'theme' is for 2009 at the parks.

Thanks everyone for all the info on the flu shot....I'm still up in the air....leaning toward just me and DH getting it. I don't know....we will see!

Denise - I can't believe how big Mo is!! He looks like a little man! Love the pic of him in his red onesie with the tie....too cute!! :goodvibes

DMickey - Sounds like you had quite the morning the other day! I would have totally backed-out of the lunch too! ;)

Michelle - Glad to hear that you and Will are doing better! Ya, I was sick once this past year, and couldn't imagine what I would have done if not for DH watching Brady. Yikes...it was awful trying to care for Brady and being so sick. As you said...I don't know how single-parents do it!!

So lately Brady has now become VERY assertive and actually will throw temper-tantrums if he doesn't get this way! Where did my cute little passive-baby go? :laughing: It's like he is testing my limits every second of every day. Of course he's all laughs and smiles with DH. :rolleyes: Oh, and getting back on any kind of normal routine has been hard this week after 2 weeks away. Getting him to nap has been brutal....I think he misses sleeping in his pack-n-play in the closet!! I guess I should have expected this....especially since his average bedtime down in Disney was like 10:00!! Sometimes even later!!

Today they are shutting-off our power at 9:00 until 11:00 to fix something on the lines. I guess off to run some errands this morning!! ;)

SIL called- they can't book the bounce-back AND have reservations at DVC.

Now, we have to figure out what to do.

Maybe we'll ask about renting points?

Oh, AND, the disaster of yesterday.

My mom called me at work to tell me that she fell with Vaylie. And Vaylie landed on her head on the sidewalk. :scared1: SHe said I needed to leave work to take her to the doctor.

So I ran out of work basically, and called my mom on the way there, she was still crying, but said vaylie was ok, eating a popsicle and they had ice on her head, there was a lot of blodd (but it was a head cut, so that's expected). I was a nervous wreck.

I got to my mom's and she's telling giving me the whole long spiel, and I'm like, "I gotta go- blood on my kid's head!" SHe asks if I need the diaper bag, "Uh, yes." So she goes into the house and I am trying to get Vaylie in the carseat, she starts screaming bloody murder. My mom comes back out with the diaper bag and says that she already called Vaylie's doc and they know she's coming. Ok. She says they asked what pharmacy we use, and she told them CVS. (SHe knows we don't use CVS, but she does :confused3 Whatever). SO, I say, "We don't use CVS." My child is still screaming and still has blood on her head. :guilty: ANd my mom says, "Fine! I didn't KNOW!" (very dramatic and sarcastic and defensive). :mad: I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR YOUR DRAMA WHEN MY CHILD'S HEAD IS BLEEDING.

So I take V to the doc, they check her all out, and she's fine, she basically just skinned her scalp and it looked worse than it was. No real head injury to worry about. *relief* (and I am going to add in a little brag if you don't mind: the doc was so impressed that Vaylie knows all her colors and can identify them- he said that's what they ask at the 3 year appointment!!! :love: I was so proud!)

So, I call my mom to let her know, because I know she felt bad and I know she was stressed.

Me: "Hey mom, just wanted to let you know that Vaylie is fine. SHe just skinned her scalp, no biggie. No stitches or anything like that, and she seems to be doing just fine."

My mom: (sobbing) "I tried really hard not to fall and my ankle twisted and she went up over my shoulder and I hit my knee and shoulder and she hit her head."

Me: "I know, mom, she's fine, accidents happen."

My mom: (sobbing) "You were really rude."

:headache: :mad: :headache: :mad: :headache: :mad: :headache: :mad:

I hit the flippin' roof.

Me: "SOO sorry I didn't take the taime to exchange pleasantries when I was worried, scared, anxious, and my child's head was bleeding!" :furious:

My mom is such a drama queen. I called her to try to make her feel better, and she tried to lay a guilt trip on my because I didn't even ask her how she was doing!!!!! Um, HELLO?! I didn't even care at the moment. My child's head was bleeding. You are 47 and skinned your knee- my baby is 18 months old and fell on her head on concrete. :furious:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't have a great relationship with my mom anyway (I think I have mentioned that before). I try, but she makes it so hard. My sister and I truly believe she has Borderline Personality disorder (but there's no way we could ever get her to get help). But she is such a drama queen, and she gets upset if everything isn't all about her. And at this point, I just don't care. Get mad. I don't care. I don't feel guilty. I didn't do anything wrong. I cannot tiptoe around on eggshells all the time.
Anywho, thanks for letting me vent ladies. It was a rough day yesterday. BUT- today will be better. I am off and get to spend the day with V, AND Iam interviewing to work at the branch that's closer to my house!! Like, less than 2 miles away!!! Instead of 35- which I currently drive. It will save so much on gas and then I can find someone other than my mom to watch Vaylie.
