:confused3 I heard that there were problmes with the mark VII trains... I was looking forward to enjoying them while I'm there next week. Does anyone have any info on them??

I asked one of the operators about the new monorail when we were there recently. She said they were testing it after hours and were working out some kinks. I believe someone else on the boards mentioned that they may be having difficulty in some of the tight squeezes between the trees by Tomorrowland...

I'm kind of out of the loop. What is the difference between the new monorails and the regular ones?

I believe from what I have heard on other baords is the dimentions around the Monorail vs the track are too tight and it can't go around the tight bends in the track. Disney is working on this but I am unshure that the new Mono rails will be in service by the time my trip rolls around. I do still have my fingers crossed though.:surfweb:

From the article I read the new ones face outside so you can see more and the older one face front or back like a car.

On a related note: does anyone know if the monorail is running shuttle mode or round trip lately?

I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't done the monorail since the 80's when I was a kid and it was merely a link between the hotel and park - is this really something worth doing as a ride?

I have only ridden it as a means to get to/from the hotel but I think it gives you a nice view of the park that you don't otherwise see.

The monorail is currently working in normal round trip mode but there is only 1 monorail on the track as the others have been sent to Canada.
