The New Misfit Island Resort, make your reservation today!

Yes, I do believe that you are hearing crickets, because I can hear them too. And the sound is becoming deafening from all of the silence that otherwise is permeating the night sky. As I look around, thinking... is it me? Do I smell funny or what? ;)

good evening/night,

Well we said good-bye to our son tonight as he starts on his new life/adventure.

He has joined the Army is going to Fort Benning, Georgia for basic.

Good evening, Misfits!! Been mighty quiet over here. I definitely hear the crickets.

Be very proud of your son, minjo, very proud. My bro is a COL USARMY. He has been in his whole life. Grad h.s. and went right in (1976). After his 3 years he went to Northeastern U on the g.i. bill and upon grad went right back in. The Army has been very good to my bro and family. He has many degrees from the military. He is currently in Afghanistan working directly with Petraeus. :thumbsup2

Good for everyone that has relatives in the military. It can provide a very good career.
When I was in my early twenties, I had looked into joining the Marines. However.... I just could not quite see myself doing all of that saluting, and getting up early in the morning, and I do not like to run, hate it matter of fact. I also do not have a good career either, so maybe I just should of joined, shut the hell up, and go for it. Now, I am too old, and most definitely set in my old aged ways.

We are very proud of our son. My husband and I are both ex-army.

We are glad for him - he is really excited and it will be very good for him.

His wife will have a hard time but we will try and be there for her. He will turn 21 while he is in basic.

He is so young. I hope the best for him and his family. And that he will be as safe as possible.

Howdy Elsa!

And welcome to fantasy island. Oh... sorry that is a different island.

Welcome to our island....the inhabitants appear to be mostly AWOl, however, will be getting back to us with their updates soon. In the meantime, would you like a refreshment? How about some candy corn? Just let me know, for our island chef, just baked a nice batch of chocolate chip cookies. And he uses his own special recipe. Matter of fact, it is so special that he keeps it hidden under his pillow at night for safe keeping. Then in the morning, keeps it in his front left shirt pocket. Which has a tiny lock like device on it. The fabric is sturdy too, so it will not be easy for anyone to rip his shirt, accidentally or otherwise for that matter. And much to his great relief at that too.

Ah I see... well you are welcome to live here, or to visit, set a spell if ye like to.

We are on a gorgeous South Pacific Island, that is part resort and part residence. I live here, as do many other people that take part on line. We have room service, by the way, ask for Juan... he is the best. I also recommend our specialty drink being the Mint
Julep.
We dine on fresh sea food everyday if we wish too. And partake in wonderful libations, and recreational activities as well. Such as horse back riding, snorkeling, swimming, pastry making, jewelery making, diving for pearls, playing with dolphins, we try to steer clear of sharks, for they have a little too much bite for our liking. We also have a weekly luau, complete with a roasted pig, that has an apple in its mouth.
Our cabanas are fully stocked, and either you may decorate your own, or may choose from one of many, many decorating options. Our current master designer is Nate Burkess, he has his own show too. And use to be a guest on Oprah. We ever so love our Nate. I love to kiss him on the cheek. Where was I? Oh yes... we have many other activities too. So you see, there is really something here for everyone. Or if you prefer to be more like a hermit, you may do that too. We respect individuality here. And freedom of anything and everything.

We do highly recommend reservations though, at least 60 days out. However, you are free to call us, post here, or send an email, or smoke cloud, whatever works best for you at the time, so as to inquire about an available cabanna...... We would love to meet you, matter of fact, we have been dying to do so. Any questions? Concerns? Or commentary, you may post them right here too.

Hey everyone! (yes I posted this in 2 threads.)
Sorry for the absence lately. I had an extremely rough week.
I am never one to loose anything and I lost two of my three school binders. Thinking I had lost them I looked everywhere and then I realized someone had to have taken them. Just to make me mad. I now have a TON of school work to make up, its simply the point. I was very annoyed by this but I figured life would go on. I then misplaced my ipod and realized it when I was on the bus. The kids on the bus told me they would have taken it if they saw it and how someone probably took it. I burst into tears, wondering how I would ever get it back. I had a breakdown on the curb once I got off the bus and called my teacher whose class I had left it in and it was still at the very back of the room where I had left it.
Friday was when it all hit me. I went out with my good friend to a dodgeball tournament at my school. I arrived at about 6:45 and left about 9:00 I went to take my glasses off that night and realized my wallet wasnt in my purse. I ran out to my car to search for it and it wasnt there. Called my friends to see if they had it and I was devestated that how could I have lost this? But I never remembered taking it out and I had never set my purse down.
My friend later updated her status and said that her wallet had gone missing and she was tired of people taking her things.
My wallet had been stolen. My mom took me back the next morning and we searched and seearched through garbage can after garbage can.
This wallet had ALL of my birthday money and all my money for prom.
A few hundred. There was also a few hundred dolars in GIFT cards!!!!!!
I dont understand people in this world. I'm still trying to get over this whole tragedy. Among other things this was the worst.
I had no clue how to pay for prom or go to Vegas to visit my bf for prom.
My teacher for foods told me I was an absolutely amazing girl and shed never seen me not smiling. I told her I was frustrated that the schol security told my it was my fault. Really its there fault they arnt putting a stop to these stealing. 25 wallets are currently missing at my school. This is UNREAL!
Anywho she talked to my school and told them they better pay for my ticket. She told me if they didnt she would pay it herself. She made me cry happy tears.
I am going to clean my grandmas and moms house and they paid for my prom tickets to see the bf. (Check my newest ticker)
I LEAVE NEXT WEEK! Things are hopefully finally turning around.
I have lots more to tell but maybe in a later post.
I feel like i've missed so much!!!!

How is everyone?

Rochelle,

I sure am sorry to hear about all of the bad things that have happened to you.
Do you have a checking or savings account? Or a safe at home, or at a bank? Please when you have hundreds of dollars, deposit it into your account. That way, in the event someone steals your debit/credit card or ATM card, the bank will cancel your card, and replace your stolen money. And the gift cards, well if you are going to be using them very soon, I sure can see why you would have them on you. Maby keep them in your car, in your glove compartment.
Anyway, it is not your fault what happened, it is the fault of the thieve(s).Are there any cameras in your school? C C T? Something? School security needs to do a better job.

Anyway, visiting your b/f is coming up soon, and so is your prom. You will have a wonderful, and fun time. And not have any of this rudeness from your school bother you anymore. I personally am giving up worrying for Lent. Try that.... it can help, seriously. And take deep breaths too. If necessary, go somewhere that you can just let out a tremendous scream, believe you me, you will feel better.
