The New Lizard Lounge

Debbie, you go girl!!!! I have been trying to get the WL for our dates but nothing is available. So for now, we will be staying at Pop, which is fine.

Congrats to all those Lizards on their way. Have a great trip!

Mickeyfliers,

When you call CRO just tell them you want AKL Concierge. They will tell you that you will have either a pool or savannah view. Most likely, you will end up with a savannah view (especially if you request non-smoking.)

CRO just tells you what they know. You can follow up on any room requests/locations with the itinerary plannning staff at AKL once you have made your reservation.

Can anyone confirm that all of the 5th floor concierge rooms at AKL are deluxe rooms?

Hope this helps.

Congratulatons Debbie!

Thanks Floridafam. I am hoping to hear from Debbie on this as well. I will let you all know what happens when I call CRO.

Have a great afternoon.

How they figured out that you were the Donna of steveanddonna, is amazing though.
It probably helped some that DH had just introduced us by saying "I'm Steve and this is my wife Donna," LOL!

BTW BCV23 you only weirded me out in a good way! Took me back to my band days when I really did get recognized occasionally!

k&a&c'smom you made me so hungry with your mini-report. Did you hear the storyteller in Liberty Square who did the Legend of SleepyHollow? He was phenomenal. We trick-or-treated at MNSSHP, too, just DH & me one night, plus the in-laws on Fri. FIL is a superserious type, so he wasn't really into it, but DH loved it. He has a big old sweet tooth, so he'd do just about anything for a bag of candy. DH said that next year we're wearing costumes. And here I didn't even know we were going next year!

Everything Floridafam stated is true! *cuz she's so smart! :)*
All concierge rooms are deluxe rooms. The only way you could end up in a non deluxe room would be if you begged and begged *been there done that* or you were upgraded to a suite *but I guess that is technically "more" deluxe, eh?* Since you want sleeping for five, request a room with the configuration you need, either queen/queen/daybed or queen/bunk/daybed. Tell Cro this information. When you have contact with AKL's concierge, repeat all of your requests. They are wonderful there and I am sure you're just going to love the experience!

*I requested to stay in a non deluxe room on our first concierge trip last January. I couldn't get the AP rate for my first two days or my last day. I did request way out on the ends of the trail, though (I don't mind the walk, and the view is spectacular when you just look at savannah and don't see anyone's room across from you!)and I wanted to see the new baby ankole on the Uzima Savannah. They set me up in a wonderful room on the very end of Zebra Trail, fourth floor. I loved the room, had an extra dresser, and my balcony faced two directions. I requested a continuing reservation in that room so I wouldn't have to change rooms for my two concierge days, and my final non concierge day. I had to recheck in each time my reservation changed, but that was easy. I had concierge priviledges, and the right "key" for the elevator for my concierge days, but in my regular savannah view fourth floor room. ALL rooms on the fifth and sixth floor are deluxe, so you will have the extra space. My room choice was due to circumstances, and I begged and pleaded for it and of course they came through! ( I can just picture it now... "hey, the lady with the ankole obsession called again, where do we put her now?"

My personal favorite is Zebra Trail, since you can short cut it to Mara and the pool through the side elevator. Some people like the ends of the trails, most like near the elevators or the lobby. If you don't care about view, you could always be right off the lounge and stay sixth floor, but I would advise to go for the view!

I hope this helps!
Debbie

*still jumping since she changed her reservations! We still have day one at POP since we're arriving so late, the 13-17th are savannah view AKL... and... ummm I did ask about concierge.... HEY, this stuff happens!

I had a redwings necklace on and my son almost always has on a hockey shirt of some sort.. think they guessed? LOL I always go by Debbie to those I know there, although I am sure hockey came into the conversation... that just happens too... hmmm

We're wearing costumes too, next year! We had a blast! SO much more fun that I thought we would! Maybe we can make it a lizard meet and ALL go as pool hoppers! :)

Hi :smooth: I finally got in! I have not been able to get on the Dis today until about 30 minutes ago. I was beginning to think that a filter had been put on at work

So Donna yes,I join you with the same problem. Speaking of that did anyone notice yesterday around 1:30PM Pacific time it was doing the same thing? When I got home from work and got on the boards I noticed all the time stamps were way off. It was 6:00 PM Pacific time, the time stamp was saying you all had written up to 4:00 AM on the 17th. What's up with that, it was still the 16th.

DEBBIE - VERY HAPPY TO HEAR YOUR NEWS. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT SAVANNAH to see baby.;:-)

I have counter envy of so many of you. I wish we were going for Christmas, but it just isn't in the cards. I am not sure if I'll even put up a tree this year. We may go to northern Wisconsin for Christmas. Brrrrr

Update - I sent a very nice e-mail to the Poly yesterday. It came back undelivered today. I had WWW not WDW, Geez. So I resent today. I really hope they get back to us soon. I'm getting :hyper:

To everyone that is heading out for their trip. I wish you a wonderful vacation and lots of pd and joy.

:Pinkbounc Go DEBBIE!! I am so happy for you:teeth: Going home for the New Year::yes::
Hope everyone is feeling fine this evening.
I am at the 30-day mark and received a gracious email from Don at AKL IPO asking whether there was anything they could do to "enhance and enchant your stay with us". You can't beat that kind of service folks princess: I need to wrack my brain and think about in-room gifts...and any other PS.
I have not had any problems accessing the DIS today...Wonder what's going on???
KRIS I know you are going to have anabsolutely wonderful trip!:Pinkbounc :bounce: Good luck with the name badges:teeth:
Have a good night Lizards...

OHHH just reading those words "to enhance and enchant your stay with us" must have just sent shivers up your spine! OK, so we're all easy here when it comes to concierge! :)

Liz>> You'll have to please scope out momma and baby for me so I know which savannah they are on! She has always been with her "husband" near the back of Uzima savannah. I know Angel talked to concierge and it sounded like she(lulu) might be moving, but I can't picture her being very happy with that! She loved her tall stack of grasses to rub her stomach in!

Christmas in room gift ideas>> What about a version of the Christmas count down chain/present? Have a small present to unwrap for each night until you get to Christmas? They could all be in the same theme or build up to the last one.

Happy,happy,happy!
Debbie

Well, Debbie, you know I'm still going with the drums idea you gave me for DD ;)

I'm really thinking more about my brother and his wife. I ordered really cute stockings from disneydirect.com which are personalized...Of course, I already have LOTS of cute things for DSIL but nothing for my dear brother:confused: I might have to schedule a massage for him. I'm quite sure it will be his first:earseek:

:wave2:

How about a massage and a pedicure? (bro/wife) What about room service being delivered one morning that you know you'll be at the parks early and let them "sleep" in? Or my favorite.. nothing says I love you like a safari beanie baby! :)

I can't wait to hear the Christmas drum carols out on the balcony Christmas morning! Make sure to tell her that the animals speak on Christmas Eve! I just found out recently that DD believed that for years, even after she didn't believe, you know, ahem. She actually snuck outside one Christmas Eve and was trying to sneak up on the neighbor's cats to talk with them. She might be older and wiser now, but she also tells on herself and I love hearing what "she thought" as a little girl from what we would tell her.

We are heading home on the 22d so we won't be there for Christmas itself, but I'm sure planning on making the most of the holiday festivities:teeth: : MVMCP, Candlelight Processional, Osbourne Lights, Resorts' Decorations Tour...what am I missing?

{B]#1Hockeymom AKA - AKL Debbie[/B] Please note my sig. line. I talked to Don at AKL. The mom is named Lulu. The baby is Asali which means.....are you ready for this......Honey..:p isn't that cute. Also, it is a female guess she better be with a name like Honey. Lulu and Asali can be found on the Uzima Savannah. ::yes:: Her big brother watches over her and his name is Buba. Can you all stand a little more cow trivia? The mom that had a calf when Don first started 4 years ago was named Mimi and her calf was Cleaveland - from the Drew Carey show. :teeth:

#1Hockeymom - From you last post I thought you might have missed my prior post of 2-3 days ago. Lulu and Baby Asali are on the Uzima Savannah. :earsgirl: Hope that helps.

Kris - I am sending you a pm princess:

I have an e-mail to share! with anyone who is interested. A certain deer friend of ours has a message to share with everyone. I don't know if it could appear in its entirety here, so if you would like to receive a copy you can PM me with your e-mail address and I will forward it to everyone after work tomorrow. Maybe we could create some sort of e-mail tree, kind of like the bucket brigades of old or the phone trees from grade school days.

I leave tonight....I leave tonight....I leave tonight....let the party begin!!!!

#1hockeymom - Thank you so much for the great info. I am going to call CRO today. I will let you know how it all works out.

Does anyone out there know how to order something from the World of Disney at Downtown? We were just there last week and I am kicking myself for not picking up the Donald hockey jersey for DS5. He is a major Donald fan. I am going to try disneydirect.com, but I am not sure they will have it.

Thanks for any help.

I am jealous of everyone going for the holidays. YC and WL both had their decorations up last week and it made me wish we could be there in Dec. I hope you all have a great time.

Amie

Have a FABULOUS trip GoofySuse! Can't wait to read all about it!

I'm already headed off to work, but those of you who PM'd me will hear from me later this afternoon.

GoofySuse - Have a really, really GREAT time!

Let us know how the decorations look. Enjoy your time.
