Hey,
VAgal & #1hockeymom!!!
I guess I should tell about my Halloween trip to the World - a little late, but better than never, I suppose!!!
Our trip began with a bang, when we went through security, and
then heard that our flight was delayed by an hour!!

It seems that the Portland terminal had to be evacuated due to a security scare, and our plane originated in Portland, picked up in KC, and continued to Orlando.
So, we were quite late checking into POR, and didn't get any of our requests met. We were supposed to check in at about 5:30 p.m., so it was gonna be hard to get any requests, anyway, but it was still aggravating. We had requested Alligator Bayou, bldg. 14 or close to bus stop. Instead, we got the Mansions, not near a bus stop. Oh, well, we were in Oak Manor, room 9293 and the room was very pretty, with cherry-wood furniture and pretty cream-and-rose colored bed-spreads. Also, the mattresses were new, and very comfy. For some reason, we failed to take any pictures of the room with our new digital camera.

Sorry.
We really enjoyed
MNSSHP, had a blast! We felt a little silly, though, getting candy without a little one present!

We decided it would be easier to ride the rides without a costume, so we just wore Halloween-themed t-shirts. We especially liked the storytellers, they were funny and got the crowd involved.
The Food and Wine Festival was great, the food was all delicious and we spent a couple of evenings there. Oh, and we ate at the Sci Fi, had good sandwiches and shakes, Casey's for a hot-dog, Rainforest Cafe - had the appetizer sampler and a fantastic shrimp pizza, and were really surprised and pleased with the Earl of Sandwich, where we shared the Chicken Florentine and Hawaiian BBQ sandwiches - yummmm!!! We also ate lunch at Tony's Town Square, and we probably won't return for a while. The food was OK, but the selection has been severely cut back. I had the Roulade of Eggplant over spaghetti, which was pretty good, and DD had a chicken panini that she liked, but we did not feel we got our money's worth.
Overall, we had a wonderful weekend visit, the weather was beautiful, transportation was prompt, the parks weren't overly crowded and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely try to go again in Oct.!!! The best weather we've had so far, and we've been in March, April, Sept., Dec. and the summer months - around 85 degrees daytime, 65 night-time, no rain and little or no humidity, perfect!
