The new guy's trip report++ Double Feature ++ Part 10/11 - Page 19

I have this mental image of you curled up in the fetal position and sucking your thumb while on the commode.:rotfl2:

Heeh, if there was room in there I woulda been!

Colt -

I don't think you need pictures. I think this TR is better without them....it leaves more to the imagination! Great job so far. Thoroughly entertaining! :worship:

Thankyou. Not sure about photos yet. I'm a little afraid to put those out to the world to see.

This just gets better and better. I'm sensing a reality show in your future. Forget the Kardashians this is hilarious.:lmao:

Not sure who the Kardashians are but I'm a pretty private guy. Doing this trip report is a real stretch for me. :)

:lmao: Great up date! We always called the little planes "puddle jumpers" and are a little leary when they start rearranging passengers to "even out the weight". :confused3 :scared1:

Puddle jumper! :rotfl2:

ok, you got a lot of big wigs( All7OfUs, winkers, Jordan, GreatBiscuit) following you so I must do the same. Peer Pressure.

:thumbsup2

This is gonna be good. :surfweb:

I hope so. Starting to feel the pressure. :scared1:

Oh goodness, DON'T APOLOGIZE!! This is the funniest thing in the world (ok, maybe not so funny if it is true...) but seriously, your storytelling is the BEST! You're so nonchalant about... "it's just my story..." (I'm hearing "That's my story and I'm sticking to it..." in my head :rolleyes1) but that's what makes your tales so GREAT!!! Keep it up!!! You're getting quite a following and you are not disappointing at all! :yay: :yay: :yay:

LOVE the teaser Nemo story bit! Can't wait for the full details!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this update! You are quite the tale-spinner. Waiting for more... popcorn::

I totally agree!!!!!! Someone should pitch this!!! Too good to be true! :thumbsup2

Nemo wasn't really that big a deal. At least not to me. The wife wouldn't talk to me for hours afterwards. :confused3

this is one of the best reports I have ever read! You are to funny!!! Cant wait to hear the rest. We want pics!!!

These new high-falutin’ restaurants in America drive me crazy! Very frustrating as all get out.

After arriving safely in Denver, the wife wanted a fancy meal. She had read all about ol Wolfgang Puck and heard he had him a place here in Denver so off we went.

We walked up and down the B Concourse for what seemed like 45 minutes. We could not find this stupid restaurant. Twice we passed Steak Escape and I salivated both times.

I finally suggested that maybe we should ask someone. The shoe shine people were more than gracious. They pointed upstairs where the restaurant was located. Upstairs? Who’d a thought?

This has got to be one of the most God Awful restaurants ever built. It’s a Wolfgang Puck’s Express. Not sure how this differs from the non-express restaurant. I really don’t understand how this place can make any money at all. I got confused from the moment I walked in.

The wife was excited. We all grabbed our trays, and wandered around. There are different stations that cook different things. People are everywhere. It’s chaos.

I found my way to the station that serves up rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes. Nobody was there. I waited. Still nobody. I decided to try their fire over pizza. When I got to that station, the man left and went over to help those waiting at the rotisserie chicken station. I shook my head. I gave up and decided to get my drink and come back to the food later. I was frustrated. I wanted a Steak Escape sandwich.

The twins didn’t like anything on the menu. The wife had them in tow, so after I found a drink (bottle of $7 spring water from the Alps… who the heck wants some flavored tea with Gin-ming or whatever that is that I cannot pronounce?), I went back to the rotisserie chicken station. The guy had left. I ended up grabbing a precooked, rewrapped sandwich out of a fridge. It contained turkey, coupled with a cheese I had never heard of. Then I couldn’t figure out where to go to pay. People were everywhere.

I found the wife over near the pizza oven, almost in tears. They didn’t have pepperoni for the girls and couldn’t bake a simple cheese pizza that didn’t have BBQ Chicken on it. We were done.

We abandoned the food trays right there in front of the obstinate pizza chef, went downstairs, and had an absolutely delicious meal at Steak Escape. Greasy meat smothered in cheese & onions, tossed on a soft roll. Pure heaven.

With full bellies, I decided I needed a drink for the second leg of our trip.

You can never go wrong with steak.

I always thought the definition of "express" was fast or at least some what fast. Maybe old Wolffy missed something in the german to english translation.:confused3

I know exactly what your talking about with places like that..stressful and confusing!!! :sad2:

I could go for one of those steak sammiches right now!!! :cloud9:

Did you get a drink for the plane so you would have an excuse to ''visit'' the restroom on the plane? :lmao:

Salivating is a good sign that they're doing something right inside!!! Go with the "flow". :lmao::lmao:

The Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney isn't like that, although the line can be long! The food was delicious though. One of our favorites.

After flying on a plane with my kids (and dealing with a scared husband locked in the bathroom :rolleyes1 ), I'd want a nice sit down meal with someone taking care of me. :thumbsup2

that comes into play later.

Well that confirms my thought that I don't want to eat at Wolfgang Puck...

:thumbsup2

Steak Escape is kinda of a walk up, grab your sammich, and then go find a seat. Nothing fancy.

I think she thought it was a sit down type restaurant. She was really looking forward to it. We don't have many choices for restaurants in the Nampa, ID farm country.

I found this online using google. http://www.steakescape.com/

I imagine you don't have many choices! How far away are you from Sand Point?? Just curious. We've done Priest Lake a few times- so pretty!

Hi Colt. Looks like you're doing well over here. :thumbsup2 I read your updates with a John Wayne drawl in my head. Hope you don't mind.

Wolfgang Puck in Downtown Disney, the sitdown one, is incredible. You need to give it a do-over. That being said, what you did have sounds pretty tasty.

A drink for the plane? Can't wait. popcorn::

Subscribing my DH and I can't stop laughing. Great tr

At the WPE in DTD, you place your order and then take a seat and they bring the food to you. So, it's a bit more relaxing. I think there is a full service Wolfgang Puck restaurant too, but I always get confused about that. :sad2:

I know what it's like to live somewhere and not have many choices for restaurants. We lived in the Outback of Australia for 3 years in a very remote location. The town itself had 25,000 people but it would take you about 19 hours or so by car just to reach the nearest real city.

Doesn't look like there's a Steak Escape around me yet. But, I did just have a steak sub for dinner. :thumbsup2

One example of what's to come: I left the "clam-mo-bile" at NEMO in Epcot in the middle of the ride to get a better a photo of the jelllyfish and they shut the entire ride down and sent the Mickey-Gastapo after me.

That's later though.

OH MY GOD!! That is awesome hahahahaha. I am totally signed on. This looks to be a fantastic ride.
:rotfl2::rotfl::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:lmao:

I feel your pain Colt.

Airport restaurants rarely get things done right. Fast food/Food courts at airports seem to do a better job....

It don't take much to make me happy. But being able to order your food in a timely and efficient manner is important.

Wow! Australia. that would be something. Lots of open country. I'd like to go someday.

I shake my own head reading it. I can't believe it's me in the tale.

I'd have to leave the state to be any further away from Sandpoint. It's way up north in the panhandle. I'm straight south of Boise.
