Great photos...thanks for sharing, Robin. Isn't V&A delightful?

I shopped at DTD yesterday and picked up a CD of GF Christmas music. :cool1: The CM who helped me said it is beautiful.

That sounds like a great souvenir! Would bring to mind the special feeling of the lobby during that wonderful time.

Wendo....i totally agree!!!! IT ROCKS!

Ditto to that! I love it for information, charm, and well thought out layouts.
Just reading some stuff about the cabanas (can't wait to reserve and enjoy for the first time in about 5 months....). What exactly is the cabana shop mentioned?

k&a&c'smom I guess vacuuming simply isn't part of the routine. Maybe just in between guests?

That's what I figure, too, johnsonet. They probably have it that they vacuum only between guests, or every 4th day, or something. Since we weren't in the room on every day of our stay, the mousekeeper might have vacuumed on one of the days we didn't see her. To be fair, there wasn't a lot on the floor to merit sweeping, lol.

BCV23 - A GF Christmas music CD sounds wonderful, let us know how you like it!

TravelinGal - nice photos! I'm glad you loved V&A's, we do, too.

Do you think it is the low pay that CM's receive from disney, that attribute to the bad service?

I have rarely had what I would term bad service at WDW. I have had some instances where I thought the service could be better, though. I don't know what the reason is for that - it could be because it is an outsourced company, or it could have been a bad day for the employee, or that particular employee could be a bad apple. Who knows?! But I want to stress that most of our CM interactions at WDW have been wonderful, they are what keeps us coming back to the World!:goodvibes

tinklovr64 - Have a wonderful time on your upcoming trip!

Robin I totally understand your angle re. Housekeeping. You have a very fair attitude. I'm glad you're going to give the GF another try sometime :) And another great review of V&A! I've STILL never been but I'm going to make it a point to go sometime in 2009! Your pictures are so sweet :lovestruc

BCV23 that's awesome :cloud9: Hope your trip is going great. I'm sure it is ;)

Same here, k&a&c'smom. Maybe they actually visually inspect and then decide whether or not to vacuum??

They sell sun lotion, towels, pool toys, and other basic you may want or need while at the pool.

Does anyone know which standard Garden View rooms have pink daybeds? I know it is a silly question, but dd7 (obsessive about some things...high functioning autism) is already talking about sleeping in a "PINK" daybed like we saw online!!!!! :scared1: This just worries me if they are in the higher level rooms. She could possibly have a meltdown over this as crazy as it sounds...it happens and she will definately talk for weeks (even a year from now) about how her bed was NOT pink and how it should have been PINK and just why they don't have PINK...etc. etc. etc.

Just to give you an idea...last night was easy...she attends ice skating classes and was upset that her class was moved to a different rink without the husky under the ice. She talked non-stop for 1 hour straight about how little kids need the husky and how it was not right and that they must be doing construction to have moved them...on and on and on for a 1 hour car ride home.

Long story short, it does not generally faze me...but may raise some eyebrows when a 7 year old begins crying earnestly about a PINK bed. :guilty: So, in the spirit of preparing her for what MIGHT happen OR attempting to make absolute certain some details might be doeable...does anyone know the location of the rooms with PINK daybeds??????

I don't know the answer, but I understand. My good friend has 2 autistic boys and this is her life on a daily basis. Whatever you can do to make it good for her ultimately makes it good for everyone. I'm sure someone here knows the answer--it's a great resource and they know soooo much!:cutie:

Hmmmm.... ... I'm not sure I would call them pink (more purple in my eyes) Could you post a link to the picture that she saw so we can tell you whether or not they are still there?

These are what the GV daybeds look like. Is this what she saw?

ETA: I guess they do seem more pink than purple in that picture...

That looks like it's the same color as the sleeper sofa we just had in our room and I would say it is more coral than pink. Depending on her definition of pink, that in itself could be a problem... (hopefully not!)
DS has sensory issues but that doesn't compare to what you folks have to deal with when kids are on the autism spectrum. I wish you all the best!!

I think as long as it is close enough to pink we will be ok.

Cinderumberlla...do you happen to know what room # or building it was in?

It is a challenge with some things and she is SO easy with other things. Like when the dog would chew a barbie, she would just say "oh well that's ok" but would have a meltdown when I turn a light on while watching a movie at home. She prefers absolute darkness, but worries non-stop about waking up in the dark, she is much better meeting characters now than her first trip at age 5, but still require a stroller to get through our time in the parks (I usually buy a double rental length of stayto give her room...they are great because they are like little cubbies and she can escape from some of the excitement in the park), she is fearful of some rides and fearful of ME riding some rides...we usually just play it by ear as to what we will ride and not, she needs regular meals and loves to swim in the pool...last year I took her swimming even if it was 10pm!!!:rolleyes1 Oh, and BBB does NOT work for her...her head is too sensitive and she is upset and out of sorts for days over it...took ONE time to figure that one out!!! LOL:rolleyes1

But other than the challenges we have daily, WDW is the most wonderful and easy to take a child who faces daily challenges. This board is so very helpful too!!!!

I've stayed in a GV room, a TPV room, and RPC twice since the last renovation, and all daybeds/couches have been that coral/pink color as previously posted. I think once the decor across the resort was standardized, all the furniture is exactly the same. We did have a fold-out couch (as opposed to the flip-down daybed) in our RPC rooms, but that was due to the rooms being the deluxe king rooms, allowing for that extra room for the fold-out bed.

As long as your DD is fine with the color as they appear in the pictures, she should be set. :thumbsup2

I hope you have a great trip!

My DS has Autism and DD has Aspergers so I know exactly what you mean, hopefully your DD will be happy with the color in the photo but would it be worth you bringing a small pink fleece to put on the bed just in case the daybed is not pink enough.

Hope you have a great trip :goodvibes
