Nice!! :thumbsup2 So will DS5 be OK there or will he likely be the only child in the room? Maybe we should do that one our first night and save Narcooses for MVMCP

That is great news!

When i was at the beach club my water view consisted of trees blocking the storm along bay pool, so i just figured the marina would be lagoon view.

Great news! :)

You know, I was just reading about this type of "water view" misnomer in my 2008 UG. If you book a lagoon view at the GF, you will see lagoon. NOT pool or marina. BUT, like you said, if you book a water view at the BC, if you see any type of water at all they consider it a water view. :confused3 I know for sure that if you book a GV in Sago or Conch you will have the choice of marina.

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

I would like to know this as well. We have ADRs for Narcoosee's and I am wondering if DD4 is going to be the only child there ... Oh well. They have a filet on the children's menu, so it will be worth it since she loves steak! ;) She is extremely well-behaved in restaurants (nothing I did, just luck!), so I hope I won't be getting dirty looks from adults-only groups ... :upsidedow

We saw a lot of very well behaved children when we ate at Narcoosee's. It's not a quiet restaurant, so if they were making a lot of noise I'm sure no one would really notice. Also, if the little ones get restless it's pretty easy to sneak out the back door to take them walking around. It's a little pricey for what it was, but the food was good, service outstanding and atmosphere was great. :thumbsup2

She will most definately NOT be the only child there. I just answered in another post that we are even having DS's birthday cake delivered at the end of our Narcoosee's dinner. Last time we were there there were tons of children.

HTH!:thumbsup2

We're taking our 3.5 year old twins to Narcoosee's in a couple of weeks. They usually do pretty well in restaurants and I have heard the atmosphere is not very stuffy. (Of course, those could be famous last words and we'll be running out the door with food "to go"...)

This was our exact experience as well. It is WDW after all!

We're young-ish adults with no kids at this point, and we love Narcoossee's (kids and all! :thumbsup2 )!

We have plans of taking our 3 kids there. The youngest is 6 but she likes the better things in life :rotfl:

My DD is the same way, hence my earlier post about the steak on the children's menu. Glad to know there will most likely be plenty children. Then, I willl not have to hear "I don't like this place, Mommy!"

Hello,

I have a couple of questions about the GF. :) I'd like to book a stay for a couple nights in July, pre-cruise, I was going to book a GV. If I don't request a certain building, is there a building that they usually give you when you book a GV and do all the buildings have GV rooms? Also has Disney updated all the rooms at the GF?

Thanks!

I see you have not gotten an answer yet so I'll try! I don't know if there is a specific building DCL would put you in - kind of doubt it. All the lodge buildings have garden view rooms, though Sugar Loaf is a concierge only lodge. All of the rooms have been updated in the past several months. If it were me, I'd request Sago marina view! Have fun. We are on the Magic in October!

Hey everyone!!

I need a quick question answered for my trip in July. I was wondering if the GF had any boats that went to any resorts other then the Poly. I read on another site there is a boat that goes to the MK and the Poly.

Well, I knew you pros could help me out. I am able to make my ADRs next week and I wanted to know if it was going to be difficult to get to the BW.

Thanks:flower3:

There is no direct transportation from the GF to the BW, as far as I know.

If you don't have a car or aren't inclined to use a taxi, you have a couple of options that I can think of. You could take the monorail to the MK and get on the BW bus there. Or you could take the bus from the GF or the monorail to Epcot and walk to the BW. Neither is real direct, unfortunately.

And you always have to allow lots of time to get to your ADRs if you're strictly using WDW transportation. For this reason, we always have a car at WDW because we like to be free to come and go as we please. :)

It's been about a week since the first post about the GF atrium construction was posted. Does anyone have any updated info? I'm just wondering if it's a "we'll-be-done-in-a-couple-weeks" kind of construction, or a "it's-going-to-be-july-before-we're-done" kind of thing!

We're heading down for our first stay at GF in March, and would like to experience it like it's supposed to be :thumbsup2

Thanks for any updates!

Eric

Ok guys... 2 weeks... only one update on the progress of the lobby... Make some calls please!!! I wish I "knew" people too!!! ;)

Anyone have pictures? I'm due to go down in May for my cruise, but also in March for a regular trip (Poly this time - mom want's to compare...;) ;) )

I thought I read (not that long ago) about calling the GF to get some balloons delivered for my DS's birthday. Of course we are willing to pay since we are not staying RPC or SL this time:guilty: but who do I call ahead of time?

I'd love to know the answer to this as well. Our youngest DD is turning 5 during our trip.

Amazing how many posts this thread gets in just a day! Well, I received some relatively exciting news today. The magazine is sending a photographer to meet me for half a day while we are at the GF. They are just going to get scenic shots, but it will be fun to help decide what to photograph...and it means that the article could be featured somewhat prominently!

Our daughters are getting excited, too. They are really looking forward to the BBB, and character meals at CRT and 1900 Park Faire.

No not at all, there were children in all the signature restaurants we ate in and they were welcomed in all restaurants.

Our kids prefer to eat in them as they have some nice things for them to eat.

As for the time, we always take around the 2 hour mark as we order a bottle of wine and enjoy the evening - it's always the end of our day we don't plan anything after dinner. But that's just us, I don't think they take any longer than a normal TS meal if you didn't want them to.

Here's a couple of photos from Narcoosses, the apple tart you see was so heavily laced with alcohol they served DS11's without the sauce

Sorry about the blurred photo of the Surf & Turf but it will give you an idea

DiznEeyore - Thanks so much, I kind of knew the answer and was planning on taking a cab.

Werfamily - The first year we stayed at the GF we were celebrating my sons birthday. The GF sends the best surprise for birthdays!!! (no matter what building and what room preference your staying in - We were garden view). If you want to know what it is, I'll tell you, but its better then balloons!!!

By the way, looks like you guys are getting bite by the bug!!!!:yay:

Hi you all GF experts! I'm a newbie to the GF. We just booked a Theme Park View with the 40% off code. :cool1: We're going in December!

Can anyone tell me which buildings offer the Theme Park View? How good is the view? The CM who booked assured me all of the rooms offer great viewing of the fireworks. I'd appreciate any help you could give!

Wow! Lucky you!!!!

The best theme park views are from Sago and Conch. Some people have had them in Big Pine, too, but I think in BP those rooms are very limited. If you book a theme park view you should be able to see the fireworks. That 40% off discount is a fabulous deal - enjoy! :thumbsup2 I want one, too. ;)
