I wish the Grand had a laundry room like the Poly or the Yacht Club - lots of machines in a not so cramped space. Many machines = less time doing laundry for a family of five :)

I wish the GF had a laundry room/washers like at the Contemporary -- they take credit cards so no scouring around for change or worrying about a change machine.

Thank you all for thinking of me. I am doing better than I had hoped. :goodvibes Thought a picture would be nice...

Well my DD (AKA the youngest ever RCer) decided she doesn't want GF until the construction is done.....hence BC in Sept (until that changes to Poly :confused3) I guess it will stay closed until next year :worried:

And a little note So far so good for jungle cruiser Let's keep the prayers and :goodvibes going :grouphug:

Wonderful news about Jungle Cruiser. She continues to be in my prayers.

LOL about your DD...except what is a RCer? Sorry to be clueless.:confused3

RCer = Resort Changer. And I must say it is the greatest group of ladies around! A little crazy but a whole lot of fun!

Jungle Cruiser Lots of  and prayers are coming your way. Glad to hear that you are doing better than expected. Thanks so much for the beautiful picture.

OK All I have to say is 45 days and we will be walking into the lobby at the GF and headed to our "Golden Elevator".:yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

Not clueless. I saw Grumpy Grandma answered you :goodvibes She is 7 and ALMOST as OCD about WDW planning as her mama...poor baby :lovestruc

Good morning all! Again, thank you so much for your kind thoughts. I may disappear a few days every other week, but warm wishes and kind words always makes me feel special. :cloud9:

 Grumpy Grandma and sjs  and thank you.

Just reading about the laundry at the GF. I rarely do laundry on vacation (much easier to avoid without kids) but I did do it last vacation since I was there for 11 days. At least in Conch Key (there is no laundry in SL because of the CL), there were 2 washers and 2 dryers. No change machines, you had to go to Gaspirilla for that. I love pas's plan of putting laundry in at night and going outside to watch WISHES while it's getting done!

CoachBagFanatic, your trip is getting close!

pas, have you started packing yet? You have to promise me if you do go over to WDW you will visit our beloved GF :lovestruc

To those of you concerned about the construction, it is an eyesore, however never loose sight of the fact that there are sooooo many beautiful places at the GF to relax and see a gorgeous view. Right now that's not towards the Polynesian, but the marina view, the view from the dock are wonderful. Also, there are benches over at the end of Sago Cay by the lagoon. A favorite spot of mine. You can't see the benches in the picture below, but if you follow the walkway to the end of Sago Cay there are benches!

Of course I will visit our GF

Packing...I have what 10 days...plenty of time to wait until the last minute :rotfl2: Laundry at GF is the best laundry EVER!!!!:)

And my friend, to say you are special would be a understatement. You are AMAZING

Sorry if this has been asked before but I was wondering if any of you Grand Flordian experts could recommend the best spot for veiwing the fireworks and water parade now that the beach is a bit of a mess? Can you hear the music from Wishes from any of the areas? We are checking in on June 2nd and have ADR's for 6:20 at 1900 Park Fare. We were hoping to have time to go back to our room for a bit after dinner and then head out to the pool or beach area to view the parade and Wishes.

Yes, Yes, it is. We are super excited as the last time we stayed RPC was Dec 2006. Our last stay at the GF was April 2008 in the SL. So it is long over due.

Jungle riser - I love the new pic. Just keep popping back here after you have to be gone a bit. I know seeing the pics of this beautiful place always brighten my day!

Don't they have speakers out by Nicossee to hear wishes?

Neither WISHES nor the Electric Water Pagent are meant to be viewed from the GF beach, so the construction has no effect on them. WISHES can be seen and has the music piped in from the dock by Narcoossees as well as the marina area right outside Gaspirilla Grill. The EWP is best viewed from the dock. Dinner at 1900 Park Fare and relaxing before watching the fireworks and the EWP sounds like a perfect evening!

A picture for today.

Awesome! Thank you. We will head out to the dock to view the parade and wishes. We thought it sounded like a perfect evening too! I think I am looking forward to dinner and relaxing at the resort more than anything else this trip. :goodvibes

We are under 30 days now, will be there 6/7-6/17. My family is still set on keeping the Deluxe Queen RPC room despite being virtually assured of a construction view.

Thanks for everyone reporting back with updates on the construction. With the spa currently closed does anyone have any experience with the other spas ? We are leaning toward the Swan/Dolphin Spa.

Look at my ticker! LOL Our first ever stay at GF and I just cannot wait! I ordered new luggage and as soon as its here Ill start packing! LOL

My two dream resort are GF and Poly and Ive stayed Poly twice so finally my other dream comes true!! DH first said in 2010 he never wanted to stay GF he would feel out of place but then last month we were looking online at the summer specials and he had me BOOK IT! I was so suprised!
