pas130 - YAY! Glad everything is set, sorry if I made you second guess your arrangements. I'm the same way, I call several times over the weeks leading up to a trip, confirming everything.;)

Nicole786 - Aww, so sweet!:cutie: Your mother and grandmother will swoon when you walk them into that gorgeous lobby, what a wonderful Mother's Day gift. Wish we could all be there to see the reaction.

I'm so impressed with your ability to keep it secret, I'm a notorious blabber.

Jenneth79 - I know, isn't that the sweetest thing?!:cloud9:

ETA: Well, I missed another post while I was slowly composing, lol. Jenneth79, I get your point about the children touching all the food, as I posted above - I have rarely seen it as bad as you describe, but if I do, I discreetly mention to the CMs that the offerings/utensils may have been contaminated. They usually come out and tidy up, putting out new items. Other than calling it to their attention, I don't let it affect me much.:)

Buffet food set-ups in general skeeve me out for this very reason. Even if you don't see it happen, you have no idea who (kid or adult) had their fingers in the food, dropped the utensil on the floor and put it back in, or what bug buzzed by, before you got there.

Of course, if you think about any of that stuff--what's done on hotel mattresses, in rental cars, restaurant kitchens, etc.--too much you'll end up never leaving the house.

You know, I'm not picking on the OP, but I see this complaint on the Dis regarding club level all the time and I just don't fully get it.Basically, what you have is a cultural perspective, not a health hazard.

And today, a barefoot woman with her bloody band-aid dangling off one toe, provided us with a unique "cultural perspective."

Ironically, 7-11 says it best: "no shoes, no service." ;)

[We'll seek refuge at V&A this weekend.]

All the best. :thumbsup2

coopersmom - So true!

My DH is like you (and many others, I suspect); he thinks about everything he touches, washes his hands every time he touches a menu or door handle, etc. I'm more laid back, from so many years kissing kids' faces and hands, wiping runny noses, etc. Not that I don't wash hands often, I'm just not as obsessive about it as DH - and neither of us gets sick as often as we did when we had school age children.:goodvibes

The Welcome folder that every club level guest receives states that "appropriate attire be worn, such as footwear...."

Hi all! Hope everyone is well!! I popped in to ask another question about GF. Is there a poolside bar? I noticed most of the resorts have one, but when I checked online there wasn't one listed:confused:

Thanks!

Dreamsdocometrue9112 - Yes! There are two, one at each pool.:thumbsup2 One of the best things about the GF, if you ask me. And you can order Private Dining to be delivered at the pool.

Nicole786 - Oh, that would be great! We'll be looking forward to the video.pixiedust:

Alas, the main pool bar is closed right now. It's 9 a.m. (We just looked out our 5th floor window). ;)

All the best. :thumbsup2

No worries  You weren't the only one to mention it. And being quite OCD with my trip plans....I felt better checking :goodvibes

So far, i've kept the secret about staying at the GF :thumbsup2 It kills me, I just want my mom to share in the excitement, but I know it will be so worth it when we just drive up, neither of us in a million years thought we would get to stay here! Thats when I turn to her and my grandma and go "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! AAAAAAHH!!" :rotfl::rotfl:

Great job keeping that secret!!! I would explode  That is a lovely gift :lovestruc

A few hours ago, the First Annual Easter Egg Display debuted at the Grand Floridian Resort! Located inside the main entrance, guests will delight at the marvelous chocolate delights created by Executive Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek and his talented staff! In previous years, select eggs would be located at various GF restaurants; however, now they are assembled for a prime time view.

We had the pleasure to congratulate Erich on his joyous display. "I have a great staff," he replied.

[No doubt, someone will be posting photos soon.]

All the best. :thumbsup2

BC1836 - well, that's a shame swimmers are not able to partake at 9 a.m.

Thanks for the Easter egg info, sounds fun! I love Chef Erich's bread, and we have had a mini loaf of his mother's (grandmother's?) nut bread recipe - so delicious!:lovestruc

pas130 - I think we can all relate about the trip plans.;)

Check this out: each morning a clueless woman in her bathrobe and flip flops arrives at the club lounge for breakfast and consumes her food and beverage while standing in the food area as people navigate around her!

Top that, CL veterans!

All the best.:thumbsup2

Oh my is all I can say!

BC1836 - :rotfl: Well, I can't top it, but my first thought was of a man who would appear each day just as the afternoon offerings were brought out. He would grab a plate, fill it with every single stalk of asparagus from the veggie tray, then sit on a sofa near the offerings eating them one by one.

Individual foibles are so fascinating to me. Sometimes, you just gotta laugh.;)

Grumpy Grandma - oh my, indeed!

Very quiet in here today, I hope that means most of you are out enjoying the weather!:sunny: Beautiful here in my area, anyway.

I'll post some photos that make me smile!

Love the pictures! Can't wait to be there. I'm getting to the "jumping out of my skin with excitement" phase where the trip is so close I can taste it:rotfl:.
