Looking forward to our first stay at the GF in October. We're getting married on the beach at the Poly, but staying at the GF. Can't wait! Any advice from the GF veterans at something we should not miss while we're there? We're staying CL at the SL and have reservations at Citricos.

We're doing kinda of the same... but moving from GF to YC-CL. I tried to get CL, but it wasn't available on the AP discount... and saving 40% was more important, lol--there's always room service

You'll love Citricos... also if you're at the resort, go to Narcoossee's Landing to watch Wishes I also love shopping at Basin White--it's my weakness!!

We're getting married at Luau Beach too!! Can't wait!!

Do they charge you to pay for parking at GF? I don't mean valet, just self parking?

We are staying 5 nights and I'm renting a car so we can go out to dinner outside of the parks on a few nites.

Self parking is 100% free, just remember that their self parking lot is located across the street from the main entrance to the Grand Floridian and it's a fair walk.

None of the WDW Resorts accept faxed room requests and you can't call them directly for your requests because you aren't calling the Grand Floridian, instead you are speaking to a Cast Member at a call center. So any requests you have would need to be made through the company that made your reservations.

((We moved our rather expensive Wishes 11/5/12 wedding to a rather in-expensive Memories wedding We just decided this 2 weeks ago, lol--some of our family is none too happy they won't be there--but that's the part we're happy about ))

I can't wait to stay at the GF.... when I was little every year I told my Dad and Stepmom that I wanted to stay there when we'd pass it on the monorail. We'd head back to the Days Inn or Best Western after and I would just whine. I had champagne taste even when I was 6 I'm kind of glad I've waited to stay there until my wedding because it'll make it all the more special I told them that someday I'd stay there--and they would just laugh at me and told me to marry rich Welp... not exactly doing that... but we're still staying there

Does anyone know how disruptive the construction at GF will likely be this December? I know that it has not been particularly obtrusive as of yet, but I wonder if noise/scaffolding/etc will likely increase as the project continues.

Will the walkway between the Poly and GF still be open?

We are interested in staying at the GF for a holiday trip this December, but don't want to shell out the extra $ for the GF if it will not feel peaceful and the grounds will not be as beautiful as usual.

no word on the walkway yet... i don't think that will have an impact based on the photos until sometime into 2012. if you're at the gf, unless you look over to that side... there won't be disruptions to the marina area, the main building and the main concentrations around the resort. i wouldn't let it ruin my trip--i don't think it will impact you much at all!!

Does anyone have a recent sample menu from the Grand Floridian RPC? My friend's daughter is quite picky (and sensitive about it) and wants to know what will likely be available. IPO won't provide a sample menu because they say it's "subject to availability and demand."

Just wanted something to show her.
