Which hotel for a 1st trip from a WDW regular?

April 14-21

Howard Johnson Deluxe Queen
Or
Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance

Will be myself & two adult daughters & 2yo granddaughter.

I've been to both (granted HoJo was 2016) and am partial to the Courtyard. I think it's a better overall hotel and you simply cannot beat the two shower/two sink vanity they offer. That said, the bed situation at Courtyard is 2 queens and a bunk bed in most rooms. That's great for the grandaughter as my 15 year old still sleeps in the bunk bed when we go. If the adults are fine with sharing a bed or one sleeping in the bunk bed, it's great. For the money, you might be able to get more from HoJo if you're booking two different rooms.

Pluses for Courtyard: 2 bathroom, 2 sink vanity for getting ready, Starbucks in lobby, onsite gift shop/snack shop. Splash pad+pool+hot tub+2 water slides, closer walk but not by that much

Pluses for HoJo: separate splash pad for little kids, separate pool for older kids and adults, cheaper.

Either way, I recommend checking out Getawaytoday to see if they can get you a discount on the hotels. I get no referral for this, I just always use them when I book our vacations to Disneyland.

Courtyard Theme Park Entrance for sure. If your script of attractions involves going in full day, this will save you time.

We have decided to go with the Courtyard! The waterpark will be big hit with the 2 year old & us “big kids” have an on site Starbucks. ️

Great choice! Although I do prefer having a Joffrey’s in my hotel

While HOJO is indeed a DISboard community favorite, Courtyard is by far my favorite off site walkable hotel when not staying on site...but pricing usually pushes us to just stay on site!

Our package at the Courtyard was $2,000 less than the same package at Pixar Place, which was our first choice.
