but has anyone noticed any hint of construction of the rumored DVC project that might take place? Any pics?

Hope everyone has a great trip!

Love our GFlo!

About the cabana's at the GF. We rented one the other day. We did the whole day-rental, and it was just about $200 with tax. We got a huge fruit bowl, and a fridge stocked with soda's and water. And a cabana-boy! :lmao: We ordered lunch through private dining, which is an automatic 18% tip. We tried to tip our "cabana boy" when we left, but he said he wasn't allowed to take it!

The cabana was glorious. We were tired (traveling with a 1 year old is exhausting! LOL!). My oldest LOVES to just swim, so she loved having a pool day! Totally worth it!

That sounds amazing! Is the cabana on the beach or near the pool (or both)?

I have read that there is no guest laundry in Sugar Loaf. We are staying CL in July and I hate bringing home dirty laundry. Can we do it in another building? Thanks in advance.

Hi! Would love to know any room requests I should make for Sugar Loaf? :idea:b Actually any Sugar loaf info would be very much appreciated!:cheer2: Also how do you make ressie for cabana?

Since you are staying CL, just call IPO and they will book it for you.

Thanks!:rotfl: Also still wondering what a good room request to make would be??

We are RPC addicts and I don't really know about what to request for SL. I am sure someone will come along and give you advice as many have stayed in SL.

My only advice is general, like we always request no connecting door. Some people like a higher floor for general views, others like to be close to or away from the elevators.

I use touringplans.com for most of my information on the best rooms, resorts, dining and lots of other info on making the most of our trips to Disney. You do have to pay to subscribe but to me it is worth every penny:thumbsup2

All SL rooms face either the courtyard or the marina and are pleasant views. You can check out the concierge thread to get more info on where the best location within SL is. Good Luck!!:cheer2:

Hi k&a&c'smom!

I've been to the GF quite a few times, but I've never seen these special items listed anywhere in the room, or on the Private Dining menu. I usually surprise DD with a basket of treats from Disney Florist, but I've done this since 2003, and they rarely add anything new, so I'd like to surprise her with one of these yummy-sounding treats instead. Can I just call Private Dining from the room as we do when ordering Room Svc. and ask for one of these treats?

Also, has anyone ever ordered any of these and can you describe or post pics - that would be great!

Thanks!

For those of you who have stayed at GF in mid-November or early December... Do you find the GF to be crowded? I ask, because I am (very early) planning a 2012 trip. I REALLY want to stay at RPC, but if it is so busy, maybe we would be better off at SL. I am considering either the week before Thanksgiving or the week after. I'd prefer to go before Thanksgiving, but I'm a little on the fence, because I want to be sure we will see Christmas decorations. I've never beed in Disney during the holiday season:lovestruc

Thank you all in advance:goodvibes

I've had friends who ordered from Private Dining ahead of time - I do believe you need to give them at least 24 hrs notice to set something up.

The lobby will be more crowded...(people come to see all the decorations) I've only stayed on GV. so I can't help you with the choice of RPC or SL...

Even if the lobby is crowded-RPC is up a few levels...I think I'd love to stay RPC during the holidays-listening to/watching all the hustle and bustle down below!!!

I LOVED the devonshire cream they serve at the GF during tea time-anyone know where to buy it??? I thought you could make it, but it looks like something that really needs to be purchased. Oh my, was it ever so good on their scones! (Which i have found the recipe for!).

There is no laundry so you do have to use another building. That's the only downside to Sugar Loaf I know!

Does it affect the monorail "traffic" in your opinion?

I've been there during Christmas season (not including the week of Christmas or New Years Day) and I found the monorail to be really very quiet. While the lobby around the Gingerbread house might be busy, I found the whole resort to be very relaxing and quiet. (Unlike my August trips)

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I hoped:lovestruc

We're considering a December visit for the first time. It is good to know that there are quiet times during that month. We usually have May trips. This year it's June-July.(Crowds, heat, I know, I know.) But, now I'm getting fuzzy excitement butterflies from the mere thought of a Pre-Christmas GF WDW visit!
