Fall 2026 itineraries

If history rhymes then when the Wish does go to Europe DCL will overprice it like they did the first time the Dream went to Europe. DCL always seems to overestimate demand and what people are capable of paying.
My husband and I were just talking about this last night at dinner. We are planning on a DCL Europe cruise in 2027. Not super excited for it to be the Wish...just not our favorite layout and less storage in staterooms. I was saying that I hope they don’t do a Disney and jack the prices up even more. We are not interested in paying even more for a ship that we really don’t care for.

We are planning on doing the long Greece cruise in 2027 and really hoping it is not the Wish also!

I really want to do the EBTA in 2027 but the storage for two weeks on the Wish? Ugh.

I did like the Wish but the storage was just so tight.

If they do that they will just start offering discounts before the PIF date like they have done the last few years. Disney has gotten over their skis the last few years. Remember when you had to wait on hold for hours to book a European cruise on opening day?

Yes but I feel like that had more to do with staffing numbers than anything. Now that it is online waiting for an agent isn't an issue.

Looking at the Disney earnings report from today, DCL is buried within their "experiences" division. Here are the notes:

Operating results at our domestic parks and experiences increased compared to the prior-year quarter due to growth at our domestic parks and resorts and, to a lesser extent, Disney Cruise Line reflecting:

  • An increase in guest spending due to higher spending at our theme parks
  • Higher volumes attributable to increases in passenger cruise days and occupied room nights. Additional passenger cruise days reflected the launch of the Disney Treasure in the first quarter of the current year
  • Increased costs primarily due to new guest offerings, including the fleet expansion at Disney Cruise Line
For the company, revenues increased 2% for Q3 to $23.7 billion from $23.2 billion in Q3 fiscal 2024.

I don’t think so because prices would rise in a day or so on popular European cruises. You don’t see that anymore. More likely to see discounts offered. Stale itineraries and high prices have curbed the enthusiasm.

I’ve always been able to book online. Back then there was no placeholder only deposits. You had to book a cruise on board with the place holder discount and then you could change the sailing online. A lot of people booked 3 day cruises as placeholders. They did away being able to change sailings online and just recently brought it back.

DCL could cut prices in half and they would still make a profit.
Okay? The point is, DCL is not thinking that, so the person you accused of being obsessed is not, just thinking as DCL is. If you think DCL should change their business practices, contact them.

Ugh, 4h40m in the middle of the night when there's no traffic. That's barely "driving distance".
I didn't say it's my preferred driving distance! It can be a slog for sure. :-) I actually did it Memorial Day weekend during the day and it was about 4.5 (not going fast or anything). It also largely depends WHERE in DFW you are starting from.

But yes, it is pushing the boundaries of "driveable" and my family much prefers flying. The time to fly to FLL/MIA is comparable when factoring in travel time to/from the airport.

As someone noted upthread, there are many families that don't fly often for cost reasons or otherwise. That's not my family, but I know many people who drive to Houston/Galveston several times per year so a cruise out of there might catch their attention as opposed to flying to FL.
5 hours is nothing for us. We hate flying and have to for work pretty frequently, so for vacation we drive. We definitely consider 5 hours very close!!

Whenever we sail out of Galveston, we end up in conversations with people from the Midwest which kind of surprises us. Not Texas or the Deep South. Not sure why. And of course this is anecdotal, but we seem to meet people from Missouri and Minnesota and Illinois. Last time we met some people from Kansas. And they all drive to Galveston. All of them. I’m not sure if that is because it is such a pita to get from the airport to the port in Houston? But if you have 2+ kids, flying is expensive. I I know that we will do anything to avoid flying. We have one kid who refuses to fly and we hate it ourselves. We also like seeing the country. We drove to Seattle for our Alaskan cruise last summer. So 5 hours is nothing.

Apologies if this has already been shared- the Wonder has now been removed from Sydney’s schedule (NSW Port Authority) for 26/27, in addition to being removed from Melbourne’s a couple of weeks ago.

So have we now just completely given up on them releasing them anytime soon? What happened to this being imminent and everyone expecting today is the day?
If we just always go with today is the day, one day we get to say, “see, told ya it was today” 🤣 I think I’m going to stick with “nope, not today” so one day I can just be wrong and people can have fun telling me so 🤪

Better to have no expectations and be suprised, than have expectations/hope and be disappointed.

This is my life rule, I stick to it 90% of the time. 5 of the other 10% reminds me why I have the rule, and the last 5% allows the optimists to be able to say "see, told you so, just be positive in life" 🤣

There is only so many times we can put that without it creating depression anxiety and sadness. Ok not really 😀

It might be time to start a post of “pick the date and time that DCL releases the itineraries”. Would be interesting to see how close someone’s guess is
