Good Morning everyone,

I wish we had more pics of the newer rooms. I still dont like that the couch is pink and the chair is blue. I dont get that at all.
I also hope they make the lounge bigger at the sugar loaf. The staff is really great there and they really could use the space.

Okay --- our Grand Gathering cruise was canceled so now we are looking for a way to celebrate the birthday for our group of 16. The Grand 1 is already booked for our evenings so I was wondering if there was some place other than a restraunt we could have our birthday cake etc. We could rent the pontoons -- but we would need two -- and everyone wants to be with the birthday Princess so that won't work.

Any ideas???

well you could something at the resort. You could pick a place to eat and then have everyone go there and have cake there. What about a dessert party and having the cake there. I assume you are staying at the GF.

I'm with Channing, look into a private dining option at the GF. Janet2K is probably the expert in this area, so you may want to drop her an e-mail or private message. If I remember correctly, some of her get togethers have been done through event planning and others through private dining. I think it all depends on what you're looking for (ie special lighting, privacy panels, etc). I know she's used the Summerhouse deck, the grassy area around Sago Cay (probably perfect for viewing the fireworks too) and out on the boat dock. There are also some larger balconies available, but they don't offer a view of Wishes.

Anyway... Can someone tell me how or point me to where thedirections are on how to post a picture in a thread.

I especially wanted everyone's thougts on our room that was rehabbed but had no wallpaper... if this is the new norm!

I put mine on the photobucket.com website. It can be kind of time consuming uploading them, but it is a BREEZE after that to get on the DIS.

It's our first stay at GF so I'm not certain what to expect.... but I've always wanted to stay there.

Hi, I was going to post the numbers but Tammi beat me to it.

With a Grand Gathering aren't you supposed to have the help of some type of Disney coordinator that can assist you with pulling this together - ESPECIALLY now that they cancelled your cruise for whatever reason???? I would want their help! Thought that was part of the whole Grand Gathering deal.

I"m having a hard time finding many on here since there are so many posts.... but I heard that the GF rooms had been redone. Does anyone have pictures of the new rooms? Also have all of them been done?

Thanks for the phone numbers --- I'll let you know what I work out with them.

I'm just so frustrated with the Grand Gatherings people. They are useless. Basically it's just a different number you call so you can make dinner reservations for larger groups and they try to put your rooms together.

We did find a couple of times where they tried to get you to book really odd-ball dinner times because you were a "grand gathering" . Like at Boma if you wanted seating for 16 you had to book at 4:00 or 9:00 (I think those were the times) But I could book two 8's any time I wanted????

Bizarre huh?

Anyway I'm really looking forward to GF and have enjoyed reading all the tidbits of information. Of course we only have a GV room -- but now I'm so wanting concierge.

Had such a wonderful time - we really did not want to leave! I think this was one of our best trips ever! I'll get a trip report together when I can but thought I'd try and post a few pictures:
