Hello!! Does anyone on this thread have any pics of the MK view rooms? I reserved a standard room MK view for Christmas and I would like to see if anyone has any good pics.

Thanks!!!:cool1:

Hi, if you go back on this thread to page 381, post #5708 has pics of a MK room in Conch Key Lodge. This also shows the new room decor and color scheme. The jury is still out on whether or not it's an improvement.;)

BCV
- Enjoy yourself!! That's sweet....I thought maybe this was your first trip w/out your daughter. :flower3:

Happy planning,

We just loved our "Theme Park View" from Conch Key, just beautiful! Some day we will be back, my DSs want to try CR; we are booked there for next June (although, nothing is definite in our resort choices until about 6 weeks before we leave!).

I just looked at the pics. I love the room but I think the comforters are too blah compared to the wallpaper. My only other complaint is that the desk looks to small and useless. I only have a garden view room so it's highly doubtful I would be in one of these. But then again, I haven't been in any room at GF so I don't really care. :)

With this current rehab of all the rooms they are all made to look exactly like this MK View one Hockeymom posted her pics of. No more different themes in the different lodge buildings. Considering they are just about done with the rehab we will all most likely be in a room just like the one pictured.

My friend went to V&A for dinner last night and LOVED it. Can't wait to go to the GF.

Channing, yes we're here right now. We were at the Polynesian for 4 nights and are now at BCV until Friday. Our DD is not with us as she is in college.:sad1:

Dis Ohana, my DD and I did the GV tea once and our whole family also adored a private dining tea that is no longer offered. There are more options at the GV Tea than in the concierge lounge at teatime and it is a lovely experience. But we've done the tea when we've not been in club level.

A private tea would be wonderful! Too bad it's not an option anymore.
Have a great time on your vacation! I'm sorry to hear your daughter can't be with you. One of the reasons we decided to go all out on this trip is that my son is entering high school and has already warned us that he probably won't be going on any extended vacations in the next few years. We usually pull the kids out of school the second week of December and take 3 weeks off. I get so sad when I think about how they'll both be gone off to college and their own lives soon :sad1: .

We always do the Chrismas parties on Tuesday or Thursday since Fridays are usually packed and even Sundays can be more crowded. Lives4Disney is right -There is a big difference in crowds from weeknights to Weekends and we simply just don't do weekend parties anymore!
Both the Christmas party and Halloween party are must dos for us and really get us in the holiday spirit! We are going on the 13th this year!

As far as the Afternoon tea, we love the scones and cream in the RPC lounge! I'm literally counting the days til I can get some of those in December! But the GV lounge does have a lot more to offer- just depends if the scones and tea cookies are what you're looking for! Then you can save $ and just have them in the RPC lounge! You might check out the GV menu and see if there are any must haves down there. We did do tea at the GV and they had a wonderful lemon pound cake and some other things I can't remember. This was our first GF trip about 4 years ago and we were in a Lagoon view room so no RPC scones!

Hope you have a great trip!:)

I think we'll play the Christmas Party by ear, if we're up to it and there are still tickets available then we'll go. If not, then it won't be a huge deal. We are doing the Candle Light Processional later in the week, so that will be our big Christmas fix.
The RPC tea offerings sound perfect -- I was most interested in the scones and little cakes, so that'll be fine. And free! We're going in December too! Maybe I'll run into you having tea :) .

Hello all-
A couple of notes - I really like the rooms. I don't see them as blah-just a bit more subdued maybe.

From what I was able to see yesterday, all the buildings are done except SL which they are working on now. (Lots of furniture going in yesterday-couches, tvs and even some boxes that said "outdoor furniture".

Sago is definitely NOT done.. All the rooms still have the old style number plaques and the carpets are all the olds style. Not sure why the conflicting info but it is not currently being worked on. Maybe when SL is done.

I looked around at all the GV rooms and here is my opinion: I wouldn't like a GV in Big Pine. Way too many options of looking at the poolhouse roof or straight into bushes on the ground floor. If you do request Big Pine, definitely request a higher floor for GV.

Boca Chica has many great GV options - again I'd request upper floor. Conch also has great GVs for the most part - some even get a view of the lagoon looking toward the Poly. And as for Sago, the GVs I would request are on the right side or lagoon side as you're looking at the building. I have specific room numbers on my camera which I can post later.

My DS is feeling better and we are going to do the GF portrait shoot this AM, then off to Epcot. We were there yesterday for a bit but it was so hot! Kids went back last night while we enjoyed the resort!

Whoever asked the question about a standard RPC vs. a 2 BR suite, we've done both and would definitely opt for standard RPC especially at Christmas! We have had the deluxe in RPC in December and it was lovely so maybe one will open for you - but being in the main building is great.

Hi, Minniesota!! WOW, thanks for all the fabulous room location info and more. Glad your son is feeling better and able to join in the fun.

Thanks for clearing up the Sago confusion. So that must be the only building not redone now that they are working on SL. Do you know where they put the SL guests???:confused3

OK, now I have to call CRO and get Sago off my ressie, haha. (I hate calling CRO....they never have my family info correct and I have to walk them thru it step by s l o w step each time I call!!!!:headache: ) I do want the larger TV and Ipod dock. That will count for something to DS17. :thumbsup2 I am also curious about seeing the new rooms in person. I always thought Big Pine wasn't for me. Thanks for confirming it. For some reason it just never appealed to me. I like Boca and maybe Conch for GV from what's been said.

Dis Ohana....I have a son that's a junior in HS. Life changes a bit once they enter HS. I feel guilty because he's going to miss 3 days during our Thanksgiving vacation. My girls have that whole week off, but his school district does not give it off. Hopefully you'll be able to eek in some family vacations here and there despite your son entering HS. :)

Happy day,

Lives4Disney :)

I'll be the one with the huge plate of scones who can't get off the lounge sofa!

wOW, THAT IS JUST BEAUTIFUL!!! I hope my MK view is EXACTLY like that one!!!!:woohoo:

thanks!!

Does anyone have pictures of the Sago buildings inside and out. I know i am getting a room there...just don't know if I should request any particular one???:confused3

Having never stayed at the GF, maybe I won't be disappointed my room hasn't been re-done.

I almost wish I was staying at AK instead, I have always wanted to stay there. I tried to get the CR (my favorite) way back in Feb. and it was already booked solid for the tower rooms. I got the cheapest room at GF. I don't know how people afford the best rooms there:confused:

Hi, cheer up!!! The GF is great. I am staying in a GV room in November. I requested Sago originally, but I think I'd prefer a newly done room.

If you go to Cinderella Fan's post #7152 on pg 477 of this thread you will see pics of her Sago room.

We like CR, too, but with all the construction going on it probably isn't an optimum time to stay there. Desnik posted about her stay on the CR thread and I am kind of glad we aren't checking in there next month.

Happy planning!!! Hopefully you will love the GF.

Here's a pic of Sago in relation to the marina. This is taken from the main building....Sago is on the left, Conch is on the rt and nearer to me next to Conch - but you can't really see it in my pic - is Sugar Loaf across from Sago. MK is straight ahead in the pic across the lagoon. I took this from a 4th floor main building room and Gasparilla's Grill is directly below. Sago is a great location to that and the main building and the bus stop, too.

Well....my lagoon view poly concierge was of a 5 ft fat bush.:rotfl: Not good. Of course I wound up on the 1st floor with NOTHING else available. Poly 3rd floor is the best view though I bet.

OK I am going now. Signing off.........see ya later!:)
